I haven’t seen this mower in years the last time I saw this mower was at my old house my friends next door had two of them one of them was a John Deere 997z the other one was this toro 4000 d rough cut mower
Of course people will these mowers are made to mow rough conditions

I like the 4000D better than the 4100D. The 4000D has the decks on each side and independent of each other. They're both nice Mowers.

kokaburra88 we run the 4100 and 4000 and I love how they do sticking to the side of hills. only flipped once cause I slid and hit a rut. I really want to try a 1600 and same condition but caint get my hands on one. seeing as almost nobody uses one I was curious
Colin Huff The John Deere 1600 may be a bit better at climbing hills due to it's 4WD. But overall, the Toro 4000 is much better, according to me :)

I have discovered that the groundsmaster cuts better going in reverse instead of driving forwards. It doesn't leave any chunks of grass behind.
Is the grass too high or the mowers too low?
I operate a 4100D Groundsmaster and I notice that alot. When I am mowing the big field near a helipad, I mow North/South. The next time the big field is mowed it will be mowed east and west. I don't know why the discharge chute is angled towards the main wheels/tires. Stains the wheels. When there's dew on the grass it collects on the front tires. Gotta have traction. I never mow when it is actually raining. I may have to leave when it starts raining. A light mist is nothing.

Run backwards and grinds them much better!
The machine is equipped with a Leaf Mulching Kit, specially designed to pulverise fallen leaves, so running backwards would make no difference. But when not equipped with this kit, running backwards is a good method, just as you say. However, it can be a bit uncomfortable mowing all day with your head turned :) (You are able to se the kit at 6.39-6.45)

Is this so they rot faster? The council had me mowing a week ago, the grass hasnt stopped growing here. Got stuck 3 times in an hour, gave up in the end.
Yes it is. We usually mow about three different times in a period of two or there weeks. Makes it easier since you don't mow all the leaves at the same time. (However, we too have the problems with leaves getting stuck every now and then)
+kokaburra88 its a good idea. Here they waste money blowing them onto the road then 2 or 3 sweepers come and try and pick them up. Its my mower (ransomes hr6010) that gets stuck, sinks an inch then your knakered. I did look at a toro for this season, but the ransomes blows alot of air out the grill on the bonnet so you can get away without habing a blower man, so weve bought a 2014 model for this year.
why would you even consider cutting grass that is that wet? It makes it look like the mower is doing a terrible job

Hi we currently run ransomes jacobsen but can rarely do a week without a break down, we do the same kind of job as you on highways grass. Do you find the Toros reliable? Any other problems ? They seem to cut nice
Greg O'Brien Hello! We sure do find the Toro reliable. We have used these machines since 2007 and they still work. (We have almost reached 7000 work hours) :)

This thing is a beast, I use one at work all the time, and I love running the blades while the arms are up, and FUCKING THE BUSHES UP
