Fix a Loose Output Jack or Volume Knob in Minutes

The easy (and correct) way to fix a wobbly output jack, or a volume knob that doesn't know when to stop spinning! This is a super-easy fix that can prevent MUCH bigger problems down the road. You'll only need a Phillips screwdriver and a hex nut driver / socket driver. I didn't give links to those tools, because the sizes of screws and nuts used on guitars and basses can vary so much. But a typ...

A “down and dirty” illustration of “you get what you pay for”. See why electrical tape, while a much cheaper alternative to nylon sleeving, is not necessarily a better choice.

Can you record bass and vocals at the same time from two channels and have the audio match up with the video
Is this still the case 4 years later? Or did they fix the software. I know now we have USB C on all the newer iphones.
do this work with the zoom h6? thank you
thank you. I want to use my microhpone audio and my smartphone. but need the smartphone as the camera cuz the camera's are honestly so good
If your recording a mic and another audio source for example music through the interface does the camera record the mic channel and the music channel in separate channels or does it merge both signals into one audio track ???
Anybody able to get this to work with an Apollo twin & iPhone ?
Thank you. Where to get the replacement under saddle transducer.
Hey thank you for the tips!!
Im going to try this! Thanks bro;-) with scarlet 2i2 and the apple adapter 2 slotted
I need to try this 👍👍👍, I hope I can later open TikTok live stream when I got the sound working.
I have a 2i2. I am not sure why, but my phantom power will not stay on. I have my phone plugged in as well. Same setup as you save it being a 2i2. Any ideas??
Thank you so much for this video brother, I had been fighting with this problem for the last two or three months with it recording fine one minute and then nothing on the next video. I was coming out of my mixer / monitor out and recording straight into the iPhone. I’ve pretty much got an analog recording studio in an 8 space rack that sounds amazing so you saved my life! I just had to spent $50 on another adapter because I got mad because it was not recording sound and jerked it out and it broke the tab off😮🙄 I had used that back up adapter once. Thanks again 👍👍👍
Do you need an interface? I have a Zoom H2n portable microphone and am going to try connecting directly, still as you’ve discussed here, into the iPhone. I’ll keep you posted!
Thank you so much for this brilliant info, exactly what I was looking for! You have no doubt saved hundreds of us from going insane trying to figure this stuff out, much appreciated!!
Man that's hardcore that the camera app cannot be closed once the connection is established with the audio interface, otherwise a whole re-setup cycle is required, good to know. I was curious to start using my higher end mic in the raw video recordings on another channel to combine with voice overs - a lot less production work as I'd usually re-record all the audio in post
I'm glad it records in Stereo - some iOS automagically making it Stereo when the interface typically records in Mono Left channel by default?
What kind of wrench do you need for the volume knob screw?
Is the irig needed or an audio interface is enough when DJing on social platforms ?
Please, can someone help me sort mine out. My microphone sound is coming out from the left and my piano sound is coming out from the right? How do I sort this?
Just leave it in the driveway under the sun for a day. Energy free solution
phoenix is a brand name. they are not very common in the AV world anymore.
Greetings everyone. Can this technique be used on Livestreaming on TikTok?
I'm thinking only interfaces that work with iPad/iphone will work
Hi, I tried this tonight with my focusrite 3rd gen, and I only got mono so playback was only in one earbud. I must admit I didn’t follow this order as you have stated, came across your video just now while looking to sort the issue. You reckon that’s the issue? do you have stereo sound on playback?
Thank you
Boil water in a heater, pour it in a bowl and dip the cable, without the outer ends, in the bowl for about 30sec. depending on the thickness of the cable and BAM!!! You git yourself a nice straight cable.
I was contemplating getting the camera adapter, but this is a hack. Apple doesn’t want you doing this. I want something that’s guaranteed to work and supported by Apple.
lol just buy a $10 soldering gun and solder and learn how to solder...lmao
This works but the apple video app splits 2 input channels hard left and right any fix’s or video apps to recommend ?
Thanks man that’s great info for beginner the real basics great explanation & info for all interesting recording clearly Like 👍🏼
Is it possible to livestream like this
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE
Fantastic thanks saved me time
How do you take off the lead wire quick connect for epiphone?
I used to do this all the time but now the camera adapter “isn’t supported” anymore. Not sure what happened.
You're a genius god!!! You have solved my on-going issue with no audio in the videos when recording with my iPhone! I've been searching online for a couple of days to understanding why that was happening, but I could never find the answer . . . until now! Obviously, I'm a complete amateur about these things. Definitely a subscriber, now! Thanks so much!!
Which connector did you use?
This may be a stupid question but csn I also hook up my guitar to the Scarlett and have it record guitar and voice at the same time or is that too much for iPhone? Ty 😊
Do you think this method could work on Christmas lights?
How does this work with stereo audio? Can you do separate mics for left and right with 2 mics?
Thank you for that. What is the camera app, and will it get stereo sounding.
My phone says “this accessory has too much power,” what is the issue?
Thanks for your help!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, NOW I CAN REUSE MY BACKPACK AGAIN! idk why it took me so long to find this video...short and simple.
Thank you ssooo much!! i have been trying to find out how to use an audio interface to record videos for 2 months now!! thank you so much for clear and brief tutorial
Thank you so much Russ…! After hours of searching I found the video I needed…! 🎉 Quick question, how could I add effects…? Could I download an app or could I run my DAW on my MacBook somehow…??? 🤔 Thank you again…! ☀️
Looking forward to trying this with the focusrite 8i8. Anyone able to record multi tracks / multi microphones on their iPhone / Ipads? Sorry, if this is a stupid question. Is there a video about what apps to use and how to hook it up? Currently, using MV88+ and Motiv app on my channel.
Heat is the key. I just boil water in a big pot and dunk the cable (not the connectors though) for half a minute, then the kinks are gone.
Not working & I’ve tried this several times, & yes I’m positive I followed this step by step? Anyone have any advice to make this work? This shit is just starting to piss me the fuck off at this point
I plugged my adapter into my phone before opening the camera app and now it just makes clicking noises. Does anyone know if I need to get another adapter and start over for mine to work?
