This song has no right being this catchy! I legit like it
I like how this is a father giving his daughter a hard but necessary lesson on passive arrogance rather than just a mafia boss trying to control his child.
Theory: Twinkle hypnotized Pinocchio I don’t mean to ruin anyone’s childhoods but here’s my theory. In this song it’s not puppetino that’s controlling Twinkle, it’s actually the emperor of the night, and he’s using Twinkle to lure Pinocchio to get turned back into a puppet, then his fairy godmother turns him back into a real boy, then he goes to find his father’s jewel box, then goes to the land where dreams come true. It’s not just the song that can hypnotize Pinocchio, it’s Twinkle’s voice in general that has that power, and the emperor uses Twinkle’s voice and makes her say his name to put him back under his spell. Which is why in the scene where the emperor asks Pinocchio if he’s ready to sign away his freedom, he wants to take Twinkle with him, and why he left Twinkle behind when he went to go find the jewel box. In a story I’m writing about Twinkle I made this thing where the children after they are turned into puppets in the land where dreams come true, they get sent off to different places depending on what their dreams were, so their dreams come true, but the children are puppets, which is why Twinkle is in the puppet show, it’s because she wanted to be a famous dancer and was a victim of the land where dreams come true. So in conclusion, Twinkle’s beauty wasn’t the main reason Pinocchio fell in love with her, it was the spell the emperor put him under that made him love her.
Twinkle has a beautiful voice, but the song is kind of dark. It somehow speaks of doing what you want and not caring about family or home. I don’t know what Twinkle’s origins are, but I can tell that she was once a human who became a puppet.
I like to imagine that the Emperor is the one singing this behind a curtain
One of my favorite films. I like the way it’s shot and done as a play with a narrator. More like reading a book than watching a movie.
I love how Pinocchio looks at the viewer. Even he has no clue what Scalawag and Igor were thinking.
It’s all well and good until her crazy sister shows up lol….
I remember watching this as a young child. I loved the blue fairy and her song but then I was absolutely TRAUMATISED by the scene where Pinocchio gets slowly turned back into puppet by being forced to dance while screaming for help! It gave me nightmares for over a month where I was also turned into a puppet and in the end my mum had to get rid of the video because I was so distressed and wouldn’t go to bed because of the nightmares!
Geez this must’ve been the late 80s😅😅 btw just curious how young were u??😅
Liked this a lot as a little child but got terrified of Puppetino when he tricked Pinocchio to turn back into a puppet again. Think Puppetino + his master/ boss " The emperor of the night is even worse than Disneys Pinocchios evil Coach man / 1940
thank you for subtitles!
The irony that this movie was so well animated for the company that they went bankrupt after it was released
"EVERYONE! THE WORLD'S SEXIEST MARIONETTE THAT LOOKS LIKE A 10 YEAR-OLD GIRL" Pinocchio: "OH NO! Someone's casting a spell that turns me back into wood! But it only affects my penis for some reason"
kek
hmmm aw yes the wooden cunny
Bro's a star💀
0:55 SKIPPING"
The more familiar I become with this movie, the more that I'm really starting to adore this character design for Pinocchio. It's obviously very different from the OG Disney design, but I can't help but feel like this Pinocchio is iconic in his own right.
This desgin is so pleasant that hat an all those very expressive which at times get comically odd, his face when having his fairy sing to him iconic
that end right there
This is catchy but the movie is a complete ripp off of the superior Disney version thank god filmation didn’t do anymore Disney sequels my fave movie ever is the jungle book and I read filmation wanted to make a follow up after seeing the 2016 live action remake of the jungle book wich was awful and a disgrace to the original classic 1967 version I am glad that filmation never made a sequel
Chill fool do you Aladdin is also a rip off of The Princess an the Cobbler yet people love both movies for what they did with those components
2:01 I love the raccoon’s little dance for whatever reason
I loved Paul for killing her. She was so f annoying and nosy
Lol Martha sucked and she was definitely too nosy
Pinocchios at it again ❤️
Does someone know the lyrics?
This kicks the hell out of Disney's
I am a mountain, this is my valley. I feel as though I don't have much time left. Remember me when erosion shreds my peaks, and I am but a hill, one with the valley. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me. Don't forget me.

the way they maintain that slight level of malevolence even in this upbeat track is actually impressive.

In memoriam James Caan. Cold Moon 2022.
Klassikeren. Skal dog siges at paraboler er mindst lige så grimme som DFs politik, og så har de vel også det tilfælles at de begge er ved at være et levn fra en svunden tid.
Oh man childhood all over again 🙆
the movie may have been terrible, but this song is a banger!
Its not really that bad if you compare to other sequels of classic disney films like Pocahontas 2 or the non disney sequel of snow white
How is its horrible though I would just call it fine there's a lot of movies that are said to be amazing that feel like that to me too
0:13 if someone makes those sounds at a Library I cover my head in SHAME.
I’m so happy that the song "Do What Makes You Happy" was published 12 years ago. It was fantastic and very catchy. In 2017, the movie turned 30, and now in 2022, the movie turns 35 this Christmas. 🎄❤👍😘🥰 1:35: Poor Twinkle. I’d do anything more than you, Pinocchio. Don’t be a puppet again. You’re going to be good. I promise. ❤👍😘🥰
I see Jerry’s facial expressions.
It’s so weird that he’s simping at a puppet even though she is still real on the inside 😑
to be honest im actully was curious if pinocchio ever had a love interest, i mean imagine that... pinocchio in love, who would be able to steal our wooden hero's heart
In french this song is Nice too
This was just dark …
I can’t think of a film that literally gets you cheering for child murder. One by one. In front of the mother. Jeesh. But then Von Trier is making a point there too isn’t he? Audience manipulation at its finest. And I mean that in a good way. lol at you the audience, humanity, literally cheering for child murder. What a film. People got too hung up on the set when this film came out. Go back and read the reviews from the time. Not great. Ebert called Von Trier something like a “misanthropic crank.” Something like that. “Whose contempt for humanity is becoming harder and harder to hide.” Paraphrasing. I agree with Tarantino. If those was a stage play in would be considered the best play of the 20rh century and Von Trier would have won the Pulitzer. (Although technically not because I think the Pulitzer is only supposed to be given to American authors. Preferably dealing with American subject matter. Which Trier is not. But whatever.)
Twinkle may be a girl puppet on the outside, but deep down inside, she’s a real little girl and she has feelings.
Which is the point I missed as a kid. She's one of countless lured with a promise of a quick road to stardom, then made a slave and a Judas Lamb.
In the ending she apparently said she was free so she must have been kidnapped by him@XX-sp3tt
Twinkle may be a puppet, but she has feelings.
Twinkle may be a puppet on the outside, but she’s a real little girl to Pinocchio on the inside.
Twinkle is defently inspired by that dutch puppet in the "i've got no strings" scene. They look pretty much the same and they both are a love intrest for Pinocchio. I even saw once in a concept design that she was supposed to wear dutch wooden shoes.
RIP to a fucking legend named Jimmy Caan
Is that the same voice actor of Pinocchio who voiced Steve from American Dad?
Yes.

When I was a little girl, me and my dad would stay up all night watching Disney movies but this one was always one of my favorite movies. Please someone tell me the name of this Pinocchio version.
Pinocchio and the Emperor of The Night
That angle at the end actually made me bust up. The bow at the end was enough, they didn’t have to put in a reverse shot with Pinocchio ass up with his head between his legs. Other than being caught off guard though, damn this animation was top notch.
Twinkle may be a puppet on the outside, but she’s a real, little girl to Pinocchio on the inside.
The ending of the first transformation scene for our boy being her looking down with that blank wooden expression is haunting
Before Scott Grimes voiced as Steve Smith.
