Thirdly if you were having constant problems with them hitting your windows and walls with their balls, you’d probably be getting rather tired of it too. @ yes you can. Even filming something upon someone’s window ledge is a breach of privacy laws. I’ve told you as well that just because there’s a phone on the window ledge it doesn’t mean it’s recording anything and I’ve told you that it was on a stand charging, not that I have to explain why a phone was there anyway. Like I said you’ve got until 5pm today to remove it. If you don’t you’ll soon find out who really has the full weight of the law behind them.

The phone was actually switched off so how can it be recording, I have a right to privacy in my own home and you’ve breached that. It’ll be more than a silly CPW that you’ll be getting. They do have respect actually you have no idea what this woman has put them through for over a year now shouting and swearing at them kicking one throwing water over another videoing them and being awful to them everytime they play out she’s now got a cpw order from the police to stay away from the children it’s easy to make a judgement from one video but you don’t know the whole story

@@susan0ne thank you. They don’t have any respect for anyone or anything. Those kids were once again kicking their football against the walls and windows earlier this afternoon. I tried to ignore it but they were also shouting obscenities trying to goad me into going outside. I was by my own window doing something inside my flat and these kids and their mother were there with phones held high above their heads taking photos or videos of me inside my flat and alleging that I had a phone on my window ledge propped up recording them. Their mother commented on here and I said “What colour phone do you think you saw then?” She’s avoiding the answer so obviously lying because she knows she can’t describe the phone colour.

Just for the record, we have just been round and can see your phone propped up and filming the children through your window. They haven’t filmed you at all you liar. Your phone is visibly sitting up at the window filming them and it’s all being reported to the police as you’re breaking your CPW order on day 1!

@@k91985 I don’t make the rules unfortunately but I guess it’s because of the high chance of hitting and breaking something or someone getting hurt by a football. There’s a real mixture of people here from young people to elderly and disabled people. I think it’s possible that the landlord wants to limit the possibility of such things happening. I don’t honestly know.

@@k91985 Back in the day we had police who would walk the beat, talk to local residents and deal with issues like this using a bit of common sense. A friendly word with the parents telling them it's not a kids play area would've been enough to put an end to it. Nowadays it seems we have cops with no idea of the real situation attempting to work to the letter of the law which even they don't truly understand.

@ but the fact is that they are NOT ALLOWED TO. Do you seriously think that it’s OK for them to play ball games where there are signs clearly stating NO BALL GAMES? These signs are in operation through the whole estate, not just bits of it.

@ The signs apply everywhere on the estate. Not just one part of the estate. Anyway I even said that if the kids keep to the grass areas they will limit their chances of hitting the property and my windows and limit the chance of hitting someone else. They can play on the grass to their heart content- I don’t care about that. What I do care about is preventing damage to my property where possible.

@SusanAnderson-r7v I've got two sons and a grandson, I'd be terrified to let them go out where you live, so I do get it, but can't you all work together to get the council to give them a safe place? This is your lady to make that happen, and it would be a good example to the kids.

@@k91985 absolutely and it’s not just that but there’s the safety aspect that needs to be considered as well. When I was living in my previous flat we campaigned hard to get a safe place for the children and young people to play ball games without being a nuisance to the other residents. We had members of Southend United FC come in and offer coaching to the children. We also had an outdoor table tennis area which they loved.

@ thank you ☺️. I am not scared to admit that I do suffer from mental health problems and I’m not unshakable but I try to turn negativity into positivity. Sometimes it’s jolly difficult but seeing the good that can come from doing this is rewarding

@@Emilyluca1111 thank you for your input. I just want to state that there is nothing wrong with filming anything and anyone in a public place and I am not breaking any laws. Photography and videography is not a crime. I’ve asked for the children to not kick their balls against the building and windows. I have no problem with them playing on the grass areas. In fact I even said that I was working on something that would allow them to play safely but it’s not an overnight thing. In fact I have shared a link to a petition on my community page that I ask people to sign and support where the aim is to get a safe space for the children to play without being a burden on the residents. Meanwhile I will refer you to the Criminal Justice Act 1972 which states that it is not illegal to film anyone of any age in public

@@kaytk2104x I get there’s two sides. Your right children should have somewhere to play, it’s sad that some feel they can’t. I hope the situation gets resolved soon. I’m a mum to two autistic boys, I get why it’s so needed for them to have somewhere and they shouldn’t feel like they can’t have that outdoor time that’s so needed to help with social skills.

@@Sol-Cutta there’s playing and there’s playing certain things that are prohibited by clear signs all over the building. These children have been asked quite often and nicely to refrain from kicking their balls against the building and windows. In fact I even said to the kids that if they wanted to kick balls around, do it on the grass area away from the buildings and use trees as their goal posts. I don’t care if they kick the balls on the grass as long as they don’t purposely kick them against the building and my windows. When I was a kid I was happy playing catch with my brothers and friends in the back yard. If we wanted a game of football or something we would go to the park. If we ever got in someone’s way or did something wrong that inconvenienced them, we would apologise straight away or if we didn’t, we’d be made to apologise at a later time. We also got punished for our actions, usually sent to our rooms without dinner and grounded for a few days

@ everyone I know who lives here actually abide by those signs because they know that if they don’t then the tenancy can be taken away from them. You and your kids don’t belong here so you should really keep away.

@ no I wasn’t purposely bullying those children. I have already explained that I asked them several times before not to kick their balls against the walls and windows and I asked nicely as well. I am fed up with being nice to people who clearly don’t care about how their actions affect me so as far as I am concerned it’s no more being nice about it and I don’t care if it upsets them or anyone else. My landlord and the police are taking action against these individuals with the aim of having them barred from the estate and therefore forcing the parents to take them to the park

These parents have private owned houses on the roadside and yet they let their children come onto the estate to cause chaos for the residents like me. They also have back gardens although they are not that big.

@ there is nothing wrong with children being outside playing UNTIL it becomes antisocial. If these kids weren’t deliberately kicking their balls against the walls and windows and swearing like they do then there wouldn’t be a problem. These kids have been asked on a number of occasions to concentrate their ball games on the grass and maybe make a “goal” between two trees but they don’t. Instead they would much rather be a nuisance to the residents of the block. This is why another resident started a petition going to get a safe space playground area installed and of which I have shared the link on my community page

I have actually got fed up with being nice about it and asking them not to do what they have been doing and all I get met with from them is a big F U. @ thank you. I’m just telling them simply that I am calling the police because of their antisocial behaviour. I have had damage done to my property because of them but I’m just supposed to let it be because they are kids. These kids are of a criminal responsibility age now as they are over 10 years old

@@jamesfletcher337 there’s no druggies round here much. They’re all in the centre of town. I’ve made several attempts to be reasonable but they haven’t worked. I’ve even tried to ask the community centre for permission for the kids to use their main hall for an hour or so. That’s open until 5pm so could easily accommodate the children for an hour or so playing indoor football with a soft sponge ball.
