John Joe Mac Con Iomaire agus leagan fíorálainn aige de Chaoineadh na dTrí Mhuire. An é sin an maicín a d'iompair mé trí ráithe? (Ochón agus ochón ó!) Nó 'n é sin an maicín a rugadh ins an stábla? (Ochón agus ochón ó!) Nó an é sin an maicín a hoileadh in ucht Mháire? A mhaicín mhuirneach, tá do rós-bhéilín gearrtha. Chrochadar suas í ar ghuaillí arda 'Gus chuireadar anuas í faoi leacrachaí na s...

Francis Hughes was one of the finest soldiers Ireland produced in the latter half of the 20th century. Imbued with the fighting spirit of the best of our race, he traversed the Irish countryside striking at the invading forces at every possible opportunity. After being ambushed by the SAS he was captured and eventually imprisoned in the H-Blocks. He died on hunger strike on the 12th of May 1981...

Why didn’t DeValera mention the 256 Ancient Irish Triads from the 9th Century that were published by Kuno Meyer in 1904 ? -- Why didn’t DeValera make the 9th Century triads a part of the Educational System to develop a questioning mindset based on observation to counter negative Irish stereotypes? -- Why didn’t DeValera outline the Kalergi Plan to the Irish people that had been published 20 years earlier by Richard Coudenhove Kalergi; and explain that this speech was in response to the Kalergi Plan ? --- Why did DeValera at no point of his career explain the Kalergi Plan to the Irish people? --- Why did he never attempt to balance the HoloHoax propaganda with factual information that contradicted it such as the West German Government 1962 revelation that the Allies dropped 1.35 million tonnes of bombs on Germany during WW2 and that the German defendants at the post war trials had been tortured? www.ihr.org/jhr/v02/v02p381_Wesserle.html -- The torture of #RudolfHöss odysee.com/@Fascist-Freddy:1/Commandant-of-Auschwitz-Vol.-35-(2020):3 www.ihr.org/jhr/v07/v07p389_Faurisson.html holocausthandbooks.com/wp-content/uploads/35-coa.pdf

A beautiful speech Honestly the only critique of Ireland today by the left is that it is not economically left-wing enough (Never mind that they used to complain about this very thing in the '50s, it is why Ireland went full free-market.). Socially though, oh I cannot expostulate enough...honestly why is Ireland independent? You could have gotten a lot of the things you wanted over 50 years prior. Way to become more Anglo than the Anglos could have hoped.

Dev's idealistic Ireland and consumerist Anglo-American (post) Celtic Tiger Ireland are polar opposites. The former was tainted by the authoritarian power wielded by the Church in society, the government were forced to rely on them for some social services since they couldn't afford to provide everything themselves. The focus was on society first, economy second. The latter treats Ireland like a business, not a society of people. How can we squeeze more GDP out of this land. Ironically given the across the board deification of the Celtic Tiger in Irish media at the time, government spending on public services as a proportion of government income actually reduced during these years, in every other European country public spending went up. The Irish government had over 14 billion in surplus, we could have been on Denmark's level social service wise, instead we had the highest level of poverty out of Europe's developed nations and the second most unequal society in the world, second only to the United States. The Celtic Tiger benefitted the top 40% in Irish society to an extent, and benefitted those who were already affluent the most. The government attracted foreign investment with low tax rates and helped the richest 200 business people avoid taxes by providing special accounts for them, they got their tax money by taxing the middle classes but instead of putting this money back into society they withheld a huge amount of it... Economically they made Ireland completely dependent on the United States, small local industry and businesses were given no chance as State intervention to protect local is anathema to their Neoliberal philosophy of unregulated competition and unregulated movement of capital between regions. And that was during the 'good years' when our national media (the voice of the upper middle classes) were proclaiming that "'we' 'the Irish' had never had it so good". When the crash came people were really done over. Both of the above societies were faulty in their own ways, and I think it's important for there to be a counter narrative, on behalf of the '60%', to the claims that the Celtic Tiger boom changed Ireland for the better, because it didn't. Things like the Gay Marriage referendum did change society for the better, but the Celtic Tiger boom cannot be credited for such things, those movement's roots can be traced all the way back to the progressive counter-cultural movements of the sixties and seventies here.

What you fail to realize Ireland was purposely held back by the British who slowed down Irelands industrialization thus we had to Rapidly Industrialize because we were playing catch up with the rest of the western world They went the free market route witch I believe was the correct choice at the time we have small population That still to this day hasn’t Fully recovered from great famine This has always been Irelands problem We don’t have enough population to get the growth we need Ironically pushing gay marriage or transgenderism has not helped the situation or the society in the long term We could import more foreigners to make up the replacement numbers so people don’t lose there pensions But then we are committing cultural and ethnic Genocide on ourselves That said Ireland is one of the most educated work forces on earth because the company’s that came invested in the universities witch lead to more development and higher paying jobs witch lead to more opportunity’s to develop thus industrialization I would argue one of are greatest capitalist achievements as country is we stole Americans pharmaceutical industry from right under them We are also 7th largest investor in the United States witch for country of around 4 million is absolute insanity You talk about these grand socialist schemes yet you attack very system that has given us opportunity to even conceptualize the idea in the sense now that we are a rich and prosperous as country it’s very easy to look back at history blindly without context and criticize I do agree tho just like anything in life balance is key The question is how much are you willing to give to dregs of society who contribute nothing yet expect everything handed to them

We could all do with thinking about the ideals that Dev encouraged people to strive for. Do with want Ireland a commericalised rat race, aping the yanks, or do we want a happy ireland that we dreamed of.
