An Interior Animation - Blender 4 + Cycles
Переглядів 6907 місяців тому
A quick Blender animation! I limited each frame to 20 seconds, resulting in intense noise flickering, but I'm happy with the general result. The interior design is inspired by my time spent in recent years in Berlin. It was denoised with OptiX inside Blender and then processed further with DaVinci Resolve. Let me know if you would like to see a breakdown of the scene. SUBSCRIBE: c...
No questions ! You're just genius :)
I tried doing this so many times and you lost me at about 1:30. Way to fast for me :(
Hi, sorry to hear that, and thanks for your feedback. I’ll make sure to explain things more slowly in future videos. In the meantime, you can skip to 02:45 for the lighting setup, as the previous part is just about setting up the white override material. This step isn’t mandatory to create the image, but it does help with proper exposure. Thanks again!
Thank you for such a useful tutorial😊
Thanks! why do you change the exposure in blender and not in resolve?? It's maybe a bit less destructive?
You can definitely adjust exposure in DaVinci, but you would need to export each frame from Blender in a very high-quality format (resulting in large files) to modify it properly in post. I wanted to keep the file sizes smaller by adjusting it in Blender. However, doing it in DaVinci would be smarter, as it allows you to quickly tweak the start and end points of exposure changes without having to render the whole animation again. Thanks!
may I ask why you chose render in the viewport on the CPU? if the GPU is faster
Hi! I think I just chose CPU over GPU in this scene with the heavy fabric displacement texture just because it is more stable on my rig (Ryzen 5950 and RTX 3060 Ti). Thank you!
Do you know how to do Multitexture in blender?
I don't really have experience with that, but I would like to experiment. Thanks!
could you explain a bit slow and in detail
Thanks for your feedback! I'd love to improve future videos based on your suggestion. Could you let me know which parts you feel need a slower or more detailed explanation? I want to make sure it's clear without extending the video too much or making it boring.
To see under the end thumbnails, the chrome unhook extension with the hide end screen feed option allows you to no longer be disturbed.
Thanks for the heads up! I've adjusted the end screen duration now.
amazing
Can I give you a tip about the texture scale to real world size? You can use the cube projection value 1.0 for UVs (also a simple option) and in the texture at the scale input you use the Math node divide 100/300 (100cm/300cm, in the case of this texture that is 3m x 3m). I love your videos, LIKE ❤
Hey! I just tried that, it's great for simple geometries like the floor. Thank you!
Excelent :3
I've learned a lot in this video. Thank you, Sir.
Glad to hear that. Thank you!
Thanks! This is an excellent work. Controlling the lights the way you do is fundamental. I am trying to create the effect of dust and moisture in the air illuminated by a ray of light. Have you some tips? Greets from Italy 👍
Hey, thank you very much! Regarding your question, I would recommend starting with some volumetric fog as a base. It’s a lot of trial and error until you get the desired color and density. Then, you can add particles to recreate the dust slowly floating in the air. It’s difficult to explain further in a comment, but I’ll be making a video in the future showing some techniques for this. Best of luck with it!
@@coral_lab Thanks again. I really appreciated. Blender is really powerful but for a beginner even basic tools seems invisible! I use PS and other photo/ video editors since years.., I know what I need but here you have to know exactly how to reach it. Logic is not enough!... I hope you'll keep on posting videos of this levels because they are what we need! 👌
the best exterior render tutorial out there , please do more of these
Glad you liked it! I will definitely make more of these. Thank you.
Thanks ❤
Muy buen tuto.
Thank you!
@@coral_lab welcome
Hey man, which asset library do you use ? for textures and models ...
I use a lot of them, like polyhaven.com and ambientcg.com for textures, and 3dsky for models. Sometimes, you just need to search for the name of the furniture you want, and often the official manufacturer will have the 3D models available.
i love ittt, can you make a tutorial on artificial lighting, night scene? i always struggle making realistic lamps in a dark scene.
I will definitely upload a tutorial about it in a few weeks. Stay tuned! Thank you.
@@coral_lab thank youuu
render denoise with resolve or temporal in-built to blender?
Hi, the detailed explanation of the denoise process starts at 8:15. That's all I did about it. You could use the denoiser from DaVinci Resolve, but that feature is not included in the free version. To keep the tutorial accessible for everyone, I didn't include features that require payment. Thank you!
@@coral_lab î’m sorry i need to work my english too! I go to watch again
@@MrJohnofficial That's okay. It's basically trial and error, testing different levels of noise threshold, max samples, and image resolution until you have an acceptable image. It will greatly depend on each different lighting setting.
Excelent tutorial. I was not unable to find the solution to my lighing problem. I was doing a yellow cube on a plane with sky texture. The cube gets almost white in the lighted face and almost black in the dark side. This was the solution!
Very glad to hear this was helpful. Thanks!
Can we contact you to download tree resources? I can't download quxel from the site because it is only for Unreal Engine
The trees are fir from polyhaven.com and they are free to download!
@@coral_lab On polyhaven.com all trees have a problem with textures. But thanks for answering all the messages anyway)
I didn't find any problems with the textures of those trees. What issue are you experiencing?
@@coral_lab Some trees are transparent for some reason, the texture does not match the texture of some trees, and in general they are different, could you send your file.blend it on Google drive so that I can upload your trees. Thank you for your responsiveness!
Or better yet, send your project, but so that there are only trees in it

I guess next time, to satisfy the purist, I will make sure to code my own software, but first, I will build my own graphics card from scrap metal. Thanks for the suggestion!
Do you always use textures with a maximum resolution of 2k?
No, I also use 4k or even 8k textures. It depends on how close the camera is to the texture and the resolution of the final render. 2k often works well for objects in these kinds of images, so there's no need to load larger textures into memory or fill up the disk with libraries of 8k textures.
Hello! I LOVE your work. I’m having a great time following along and seeing if I can recreate it. Could you please share the objects you used in the project? It would be a huge help. Thanks a lot!

Animating the exposure is what makes it even more realistic. Amazing... <3
Glad you like it. Thanks!
@@coral_labI’ve been wondering if there is a way to automate it? In Unreal there are ways to fake the automation and I’ve searched everywhere for a way to do the same in Blender. Fantastic video btw
@@hoodwinkedfool In UE, you can use the built-in auto-exposure, which works great. In Blender, I'm guessing it might be possible if you come up with some node arrangement in the Compositor tab. I have to experiment with that myself; I haven't thought about it before. Thank you!
What are the assets of grass and trees called?
Hi! I can't recall the exact names of the assets, but they are available on quixel.com, which has many more great options. Hope this helps!

OMG, I thought we can ONLY EDIT VIDEO in DaVinci but now is an image haha, nice trick. Thanks for your tutorial, really helpful!!
Glad you found it useful! You're welcome!
There are so many good tips here and the render is BEAUTIFUL. So WHY would you not render out EXR for editing? Smaller head scratching moments were measuring focal distance instead of just using the eye dropper, and manually inputting sun details instead of using the Sun Position addon
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I didn't export as EXR because: 1- AgX does a great job compressing dynamic range and 2- I knew beforehand that I didn't want to do extensive editing. I typically use higher quality exports for compressing highlights or recovering dark shadows, but often opt for 16-bit PNGs to save disk space. If a render requires EXR, I adjust lighting instead. This is based on my experience as an architectural visualization artist; I'm sure VFX artists find EXR useful. I measure focal distance in Blender's camera as I do with a real camera, as I enjoy real-life photography as well. Lastly, I avoid using add-ons for every minor task, including the sun addon. Thanks again!
So many valuable tips! Loved you hiperrealism video and now I'm learning a lot in this one. I'm hyped! Thanks bro!
I really appreciate hearing this, thank you!
Timecode 4:20 is SO good to be able to compare results
Glad to hear that was useful! Thank you.
Great video! How did you exclude window material during the material override part?
I didn't do it because there's no glass! However, you can exclude objects using the override feature: first, select the object you want to exclude, go to the Object tab, then to Relations, and set the Pass Index to 8 (or any other number higher than 0). Next, in your override material setup, create a Mix Shader node connected to the Material Output node. Connect your Principled BSDF to the first Shader input of the Mix Shader and create a Transparent BSDF connected to the second Shader input. Now, add an Object Info node and a Math node (set to Compare). Connect the Object Index output to the first value of the Math node. Set the second value of the Math node to 8 (matching the Pass Index of the object you want to exclude). Connect the output of the Math node to the Fac input of the Mix Shader. This setup compares the Pass Index to the value you've set. When they match, it outputs a 1. The Mix Shader (that receives values from 0 to 1) then makes the second shader 100% visible (Transparent BSDF) and the first one 0% visible (Principled BSDF). I hope this explanation helps! I'll make sure to demonstrate this in an upcoming tutorial. Thank you!
can i import my sketchup models in Blender and render there?
Yes, you can! There's a free add-on called SketchUp Importer that will allow you to do it.
Hello! I want to ask something strange to hear. Why people do architecture in 3D? And what is your ultimate goal of archviz?
That's a fair question! I would say the main reason is that it allows us to see how the project will look before investing large amounts of money and time. Floor plans and elevations are not enough to truly visualize the project. Architects, interior designers, and constructors want to check their projects, and real estate agents need images to convince property buyers and investors. At least this has been my experience after working 15 years in the architecture visualization industry. Thank you!
love your work
Thank you, I appreciate it!
So, I downloaded the app and addon. I connected them, but nothing works. Does it not work with blender 4.1 or is there a fix? Detailed explanation [I connected them, but it stays as the default shape, can't refresh, and doesn't give me a recording option.]
Hi! As stated in the video, the tracking app only works with Blender 3.0. You can find the official download link in the description. Let me know if that works for you. Thanks!
incredible!! Congrats! I'm really curious about the greenery vegetation geometry node you're referring around 1:45. Thanks!
Here is the link to the short tutorial on how to create vegetation shaders and distribute them using geometry nodes. Please note that it is not about creating the models from scratch! ua-cam.com/video/5wHgVbJVLpI/v-deo.html

Thankyou for sharing sir Please make detail video for texturing with respect to dimensions

Thanks!
And can you get this look or something like this in evee
Let's see how Eevee Next progresses in the coming months. Unfortunately, right now it's not possible to create hyperrealism with Eevee. Thank you.
Very beautiful and attractive please share breakdown for render and composition. Because I get flickering effect in my animation sequences. Thank you
Thank you. You can lower your noise threshold to 0.002 and increase the Max Samples to 1024, at the expense of rendering time. Keep in mind there are other factors that produce noise, such as lighting through glass materials, very dark scenes, and incorrect materials (wrong albedo values, i.e., below 0.04 or above 0.85). However, I will revisit this topic in upcoming tutorials.
@@coral_lab Yeah, hard to get rid of flickering completely without a temporally table denoiser, except to increase samples to beyond reasonable. Many assets you'll find, i.e. lighting, are horribly optimized for actual lighting use, so always compare their noise level output with a pure analytical light and adjust the asset until good enough. Despite the flickering, this looks pretty good to my eyes.
The delayed exposure adjustment is the chef kiss! Just genius
Thank you very much!
and for anyone that doesnt want to use any app you can just take a video with your phone and camera track it in blender with its own inbuilt system
I haven't tried that; it sounds great! Thank you.
