Soon to being a client, big shout out to Carters Diagnostics for great content and providing information what autonerdz can provide when purchasing equipment from them. My first pico purchased in 2003 is showing signs of wear and needing replaced without a doubt will be purchasing from autonerdz.
Hello! Is TA167 compatible with other brands, lets say Micsig? Thanks!
You sure can! Any scope or DMM with a BNC connector, can also be adapted to banana. Output in the 200A mode = 10mV/Amp, 2000A mode = 1mV/Amp
Como los puedo contactar ?

Have you ever found a situation where 1 mil samples was not enough to capture what you need? I am currently debating on whether I should set my default rate at 1 or 2 million samples per second. Thanks!
Hello Keith. Yes, there are instances were 1MS/s(Million Samples per second) is not enough. Data bus diagnostics is a good example. When a network may have a 1MHz or greater operating frequency "The Nyquist theorem specifies that a sinuisoidal function in time or distance can be regenerated with no loss of information as long as it is sampled at a frequency greater than or equal to twice per cycle." Which would mean a 1MHz signal needs to be sampled at 2MHz or more. 2MHz aka 2MS/s.
Very interesting. In the days before scopes I would do a running compression test with a mechanical compression tester, on a snap throttle a flat exhaust lobe would show up by the pressure being higher than on the cranking test. On a good cylinder the pressure would be 80% of the cranking test.
Nice promo Trevor.
Thank you. I owe 98% of the credit to the videography company I hired to record the training session and handle the editing. (www.youtube.com/@unnamedfilms73)
First! Nice commercial!
Scotty then vs now 😅
Shade tree here, just do minor stuff. Since 1971 to before electronics. Brand new to diagnostics. No one seemed to want to work on my vehicle and heard dealership was a nightmare, parts changers. Not all maybe but not wealthy enough to take a chance. "So now is the time to learn auto electrical I guess" Just starting to learn some stuff and ran across a suggestion to someone to check you out. I was curious so... Very Very impressive ! The true way to do business ! Hope to learn enough to eventually be a decent diagnostic tech and purchase and learn to use a PICO and become good at it.
Thanks excellent video,, what is the best one for Crank sensor and injectors testing?? price
This is on a 4425?
Yes, this video was made with a 4425 or 4425A.
I want buy 4CH pico scope. Wonder between 2405A and 3403D. It is worth to pay x2 for 3403d? Is there any signification difference ( of course putting aside technical parameters like bandwith, resolution etc...) what is practicall garage difference between these 2 scopes? 3.0 USB on 3403d and thats all ? Thanks for any suggestion.
I'm not sure we're the right people to be asking this question. Without knowing more about you and what you intend to use your Picoscope for there is no way to rationally compare the two units. Both of the scopes you mentioned are from Pico's Test & Measurement (T&M) lineup. We operate on the automotive side of things. The 4425A is the minimum we recommend for automotive and industrial use. You can check out our store here. autonerdz.com/product-category/picoscopekits/
@@autonerdz Why 4425A is minimum?
@@autonerdz just basic diagnostic...can, lin, injectors, abs sensors, cpk, and WPS500x... could i run WPS transducer on 2204a? on 2405a? on 3403d ?
Yep, our minimum is the 4425A. Don't get me wrong those other scope are awesome. But the automotive scopes are purpose built for the automotive, industrial, harsh environment. With much greater input voltages and over voltage protection you're less likely to damage the scope from and "oops" situation. The greater vertical resolution means there is more capability to measure and display subtle details of signals like when using a WPS. The larger buffer memory means you can take longer captures and maintain an appropriate sample rate. And this is just the stats of the scope module. Then there are the software differences. Feel free to use the contact form on our website if you'd like to chat.
@@autonerdz thanks for the answer. These are specific arguments and I like this kind of discussion. But I asked about the difference between the 4CH series 2000 and the 4ch series 3000. Unfortunately, the 4425a is beyond my financial reach. Only 2CH 4225a, but there is also a problem here. Is the 4225a 2CH or 4CH a weaker device.... eh..
Thank you for supporting professional education!
Our pleasure!
This guy is killing it!
Congrats!
I didn't realize you guys were the only official vendor of Pico in the USA. Isn't AES Wave in the USA? Also can someone just purchase the support if they already own a Pico they bought it somewhere else? Oh never mind you just answered that haha spoke to soon
Of the 5 official Pico automotive distributors we are the only one that doesn't also sell scopes made by Pico competitors, or sell scantools or sell T&M equipment.
Oh I see. So just out of curiosity why does that make it a big deal if other venders sell different tools and Pico? @@autonerdz
@@SouthMainAuto It’s not a big deal, that’s just not how we do business. We are Picoscope specialists. We focus all our effort into Pico products and supporting those that use them. We aren’t distracted with the other stuff.
@@autonerdzbut at the end of the day you offer support to folks no matter where they buy the tool and that's cool!

Great class, trevor is a great instructor.
Thank you for the support
I will say this class is worth it. Trevor is a great teacher. And being able to learn this hands on and having him there to guide you through and answer questions is so valuable.
Thank you for the testimonial.
Hey Trevor, great to see you. This is Kevin, the Hilo tech you visited out in the field.
Its good to hear from you. Hope things are going well. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Thanks you guy so much l was having problems figuring out the scope this fix all or problem
No need to spend days looking for a known good. Sometimes the best known good is what's already in your bay :)
I would spec to see a a higher current at its sister cyl since two cylinders are in compression at the same time. Good found thank you for sharing it.
If you think about it from the perspective of the exhaust valve not opening at all, I would agree with you. We've seen this on other engines where an exhaust lifter for the MDS or AFM systems causes the exhaust valve to not open at all. But in this case, becasue the exhaust valve is still opening a little bit we didn't see a drastic change in the relative compression waveform.
Muchísimas gracias autonerz por tomarse el tiempo de enseñarnos y compartir sus conocimientos.
Why worry so much when it only did at cold temp and not all the times ? What’s the big deal on that if don’t affect nothing , after all it is only on cold . Please let me know
Your question is a matter of personal allowable tolerances. The client that owned this vehicle need this issue to be found so it could be fixed. To them it was not acceptable to have a misfire for 3 minutes during engine warm up.
Hi . Thank you for taking time on teaching us how to diagnose. I only have one question.
Hey TOM how are you doing man
Thank u for sharing
Can you do a video how to set the rules for in cylinder pressure for the four strokes
Autonerdz ROCKS! I know that Autonerdz was the first to introduce PicoScope to the automotive industry here in North America. That was back at the turn of the century, I think. Recently heard of a new head nerd at the helm and really jazzed to see you taking up the torch and keeping on the mission. Good video.
Nice Keep the videos coming, Trevor
First off I'm new to pico scope. I Just bought the 4425a and had a question on the newest software. I am so use to seeing min and max on my snappy scopes. I was wondering of the new pico software offers this live function.
The Picoscope Automotive software will give you min/max values. To display the min/max of a signal you need to open the measurements menu and choose what channel you want to measure and for what. Keep your eyes open for a video on this topic.
Did you get your 4425A from Autonerdz? If so, then you have access to the training materials that cover this extensively
@@autonerdz game changer... I love this pico even more. Thank you.... BTW: i didnt buy pico from autonerdz but i can i have access to your pico community ? monthly charge ?

Awesome! I noticed a typo. In the overlay it shows a 4452A instead of a 4425A
That is what happens when you get excited about making your first UA-cam video.
Haha No worries, I was excited to see the notification, then I was worried there was a new one I didn’t know about haha I went to your site to make sure before I posted haha Keep the videos coming, I love it.
Super simple sample showing, Sir Schlientz.
Good to see you back again. It reminds me to go back and review older videos. Looking forward to more. Ty
I would like to see a diagnostic on a Dodge P1740 code. I've read about plenty of people who had their transmission rebuilt only to have the P1740 code set once again.
Regardless this video is from 2009... Such a GREAT demonstration of how much MORE you can do with a Pico for long trend... nothing else even comes CLOSE...!! Plus, looks like you guys used it Perfectly (even better that you documented & SHARED it !! )... VERY NICE...!!!
