Am I the only person to use my left foot on the brake (Automatics).. Hold the throttle steady and control the movement with the brake... It's a learned skill........ but that's the problem... I guess next useless electronic addition will be a "creep mode"..

2:22 damn that's the coolest and most ridiculous feat of DIY I've seen for car stuff so far xD and did we really just put 20 percent of this entire videos time up for basic metal grate ramps (3:20)?

those 'SeeSaw' lifts.... jeez. Then again, I removed a transmission out of a 76 Ford GranTorino... on cinderblocks, the car was 2 feet off the ground-- I was young, I wouldn't even think of doing that now. Somehow I lived to post this comment.

My grandfather was killed when using 4 bumper jacks to lift a car while he replaced the exhaust system for $5.00 labor. Jacking a car is serious business.

I have had to use bumper jacks quite a few times. Even on the expressway very sketchy .

I made drive up ramps using wood blocking front and rear wheels. Having the wheels sitting on solid wood stacks (no daylight between the layers) is about the safest you can be.

Always have 2 things holding the car up. A couple of old rims, a couple more jack stands, some tire cribs under the frame, whatever will stop a car from crushing you. If one thing fails, it is better to crap your pants from being scared than from being crushed.

I would not get under ANY of these vehicles unless I had at least TWO jack stands underneath. Garage For Dummies.

Take the ones at 8:30 put a small ramp on each one to drive up onto with a small airbag in each, hook a common air line to each and lift whole car at the same time by opening a valve.

Wood is very strong and reliable. I drive a 74000kg mobile crane and we use wood under the out riggers all the time to bring down ground bearing pressures.
