Russell is wrong on this. Of course it is useful to hold a belief because it is useful and not necessarily true. For example, there may be no evidence whatsoever that a sprinter can win a foot race but by believing that they have a chance, it can and ordinarily does lift their perforance even if it doesn't necessarily result in a win. There is no creation which has not bein created by a creater and there is no creation which created itself and there can't be a infinitive chane of created creations. On the end (on the beginning) of that chain must be a creator who wasn't created. This is simple logic.
