We also have to realize these books that were children books came out in a time where a character being gay was not accepted especially when it came to children's media. So in way j.k. saying well Dumbledore is gay after the books came out is sort of understandable since no harm would could come to production and pofit of the books and the movies but maybe thats just my take on it.

I personally prefer Varchie in the comics, not the show. Originally in the classic comics, the love triangle wasn’t equal. It was a love triangle in name only. Betty had a huge crush on Archie, but Archie never paid any attention to her, especially when Veronica arrived. He was immediately smitten by Veronica. Betty had to do a lot to get Archie's attention, and Veronica didn’t. If you also look at the Archie comics logo with the three of them, Archie is always looking at Veronica. It's only until later in modern comics that they changed it. Archie started reciprocating Betty's feelings, so it wasn't one-sided and was more of a love triangle. I found this information while reading one of the modern Archie comics.

As far as the speech goes, I thought he said all that to Nancy and in the lab told el how he views the world “Eat, sleep, work, reproduce and d*e!” I agree with everything you said though.

You crack me up. Love a good hate watch. I am like you I grew up reading Archie comics. Also love Betty and Archie. I’m binge watch up to season 7 over the summer after the series finale. I hate Varchie I don’t get how people root for them and I even argued with a fan about it. I do think because KJ partner was having a baby so they used the Vale to write him out. I am also surprised you did not finish season 6 because we got Barchie together and in love.

i totally agree with most of what you said and i didn't get why Reggie got so DOWNGRADED in Riverdale and he could have been such a great Heel Charater but they replaced him with Kevin,Cheryl, and the more newer Archie charaters that got introduced in the comics. even Chuck Clayton had more of a Villian Arc.

Hi! I hope you're doing alright! If you ever feel like it and have the time to (and haven't watched it yet) it would be cool to see your reaction to the new Netflix India movie "The Archies". I thought that (aside from minor gripes with characterization, honestly mostly Jughead and he seems to be the most consistently mischaracterized one in adaptations) it was pretty much the perfect Archie adaptation? It was (aside from Jughead💔) everything I've been waiting for them to do honestly

Stiles from Teen Wolf is essentially what Jughead should've been in Riverdale, both are the main characters' comedic relief best friend, who are fan favorites among the fanbase, with similar senses of humor (mostly, Stiles is portrayed more as a stereotypical "Nerd/Geek" while Jughead has a stronger passion for food), and both have a connection to athletic activities (Jughead isn't interested but Coach Kleats tries to recruit him and Stiles plays lacrosse). They have some minor differences like fashion and whatnot, but overall I think they should've at least worked off of Stiles as a template and made changes to make Jughead seem more like Jughead instead of being so brooding.

Honestly, I think a great way to modernize Reggie's love of pranks would be for him to be a UA-cam prankster

I've never really been a part of the wolfstar fandom (as in shipped them strongly or read fanfics like all the young dudes) but I have to say this: When I first read the series at 1st grade Wolfstar didn't even seem like an option to me since I wasn't aware that two men could be in love lol - but I was OBSESSED with their chemestry, and now every time I re-read the books I cannot stop thinking of how much they actually act like a married couple. Sure, there aren't any clear romantic interactions, but when two people know eachother that well and interact in such a cohesive way, as ONE SCENE in book three managed to show us, their connection is probably on a soulmate level. I'd like to add that we don't get to see that kind of relationship with Remus and Tonks. Remus looks kinda depressed in all their scenes together and wasn't so thrilled to get married, which supports him still being in love with freshly-dead Sirius.

I haven't watched Riverdale, it's not exactly what I'm interested in, but I know I would hate the show (I already do kind of hate the show). Anyway, as an aroace, this leads me to have mixed feelings about the ace erasure that occurred. Because on the one hand, Jughead is very clearly aroace, and was confirmed as asexual, and the fact that they erased that is so messed up, and I hate them for that. But on the other hand, I don't want to give the show credit for anything, even if making Jughead ace would've been the absolute bare minimum.

The reason i love and cherish wolfstar and the marauders era is because it barely existed at one point, no more than four pages and a flashback chapter referring to or displaying the marauders era. then wolfstar happened of course, which lead to it blowing up beyond proportion. we were given the, im sure purely accidental, opportunity to make something of our own, and we did that and then some. we made the most minor of characters, a lot of which were mentioned in passing and never had a single line of dialogue, the most diverse in the series, and there are a handful of marauders era characters who aren't mentioned once in canon, not even in a character expansion after the series (looking at you, chapman.). we made mary and dorcas black, lily plus size, remus disabled (mobility issues), marlene asian in some fics which is like my favorite hc ever, james desi, and we made 80% of them stone cold gay. we made an entire story of our own within another story.

my husband isn't a potter fan by any stretch BUT he knows i am. and he would always surprise me with the hardcovers when they first hit the shelves (i worked in a factory, his job had him driving around and in and out of a lot of businesses, so he was able to get to them first. he loved having them waiting for me when i got home.) and sadly he did the same thing with this wretched book. he didn't know. he simply did NOT KNOW..... bless his little heart. he saw HP and swiped it up and rushed home like the danged road runner. if only he'd known i had no intention of reading it BECAUSE i'd heard it was glorified fanfic, in script form! i've read Shakespeare. i know how to read a script. that doesn't bother me. this pond scum bothered me a lot just reading the synopsis. but i didn't want to hurt his feelings. sorta like when your kids cook you breakfast and it's the most disgusting thing in the world but you don't want to hurt their feelings.... you suffer for the ones you love. i read the "book" and only felt my animosity grow with every page. then this unholy hellspawn gave birth to fantastic beasts. now we have people making videos on potterlore using THIS trash as resources to other characters. it's infuriating. like you, i refuse to acknowledge it. i felt tricked into watching the first fantastic beasts. and i watched the second one because my kids wanted to "give it a chance" (i had huge issues with them killing the muggle child. like i wanted to scream in the theater) .... none of us have any interest in the latest film. it simply does not exist. i don't mind reading some trashy fanfic- some of it is pretty entertaining. there were hundreds of wonderful ideas that could have worked. but then i thought about it...... i heard JK hates fanfic... She allowed this bilge to surface as punishment. she picked the worst fanfic to prove to us why she hates fanfic. worst of all, she used it as a cashgrab. Potter fandom was waning..... i guess she scraping the bottom of her money bin (yes i imagine her swimming around in money like Scrooge McDuck) she had to do something to stay relevant.

The thing that bothered me the most is that complete idiocy with the time travel element using time turners, which in universe work in a deterministic singular time line model. No new possibilities are ever created and no paradoxes can possibly exist in that logic. It has rules and makes sense. One of the best ways of weaving something thst is traditionally a lazy plot device into a book like prisoner of Azkaban ever executed. The play just throws all those rules out the window. Also they were queer bating the entire time.

The level of homophobia in Riverdale feels actively malicious at times. Aside from everything they've done to Kevin, there's Cheryl's increasing mental instability and moral ambiguity, and Toni never getting a storyline of her own

Have you read the New Archie Comics like "Afterlife with Archie, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" & so on. My friend loves the redesign of the character like the new stories that they have. I think the TV show Riverdale took inspiration from the supernatural mystery that the comic have. But she she still love the classics as well. BTW Veronica and Reggie is dating on Riverdale but I need to catch up on half of season 5 and 6!

I subscribed to your channel this month, but all I want to say if you do more episode reactions you are in for a treat can't wait to see more reactions of my old childhood show I watched this series back in the early 2000's it scares me back in the day now it's ultra corny I love it.
