Allman Brothers Band Saturday Night in Macon 9 10 1973
Back when they simulcast on tv and fm radio, I had reel to reel of these performance.
In the wee small hours of ‘72 or 3 I heard Blackhearted Woman, Every Hungry Woman and had never heard music like that before and I still haven’t. Whatta band!
My favorite band of all time !
Gregg wasted as usual, had their coke delivered by dump trucks.
Good old Bill Graham ! (RIP)
❤ Ole los hermanos 😊
Great Video! Thank you.
Greg seems a little wasted. But that was the way of things that night. They deliver the goods.
The Great Allman Brothers Band !
Wow! They were in the groove, and Chuck was just killing the piano parts. So solid!
ABB my go to band when working On my old hot rods., sounds as good today as it did back in the day., just never get old !!!!
FUCKING FANTASTIC!!!!!!
THANK YOU SOÒOOOOO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖👍👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good ole southern rock right here. To think that a band that was barely 5 years old at this point were already veterans in their time and with still a long way to go!
Duane once said..."Dickey's the good one, I'm just the famous one." He had such respect for Dickey Betts.
Very thankful I got to see them in Miami 1972 the utilmate concert Duane was gone but the rest of them carried on greatest band of that time thanks guys
I get bored with my playlist started listen to these guys and i swear now im stuck possibly forever!
Gregg appears to be high. That heroin is a motherfucker.
50 years ago. A half a century. Incredible.
Duane.....
They opened for Jimi Hendrix in Madison, Wisc., May 18, 1970, the night before I had to report to Ft. Ord. Ca. to leave for Vietnam. It was an incredible show, and I still have my ticket, $7.50, main floor, center section, row 12. I'll never forget that night.🍑🍑
The lesson here, kids, is always have 2 drummers in the band.
Saw them a month later in NJ. My first concert as a 12-year old punk kid.
GOAT!
America’s Rolling Stones: -Incredible vibe -Loose and free -Yet very tight and precise
Saw them at watkins glenn what a weekend!!! Trippin and cookin in the sun 50 yds from the stage it was awesome!! The Dead the Allman bros and the band how could you go wrong with that in 1973!! 600 thousand people still the biggest concert ever!!
I was there, sort of….😂
The three best bands ever.
Losing Duane Allman in ‘71 was catastrophic. The band put out some great music afterwards, but, was never what they were with Duane on guitar.
That`s how ya do it folks.......
Hate To Admit, ITv,But Dickie "CARRIED" The Band , During Greg's Darker Drug Days ,Post Barry Oakley,- "Eat a PEACH", ERA.. 😎✌️😁🎶🤔 👍🎙️🎵🎸🎶🥁
Interesting, this is 1973 and Betts is playing at that time a newer Les Paul Deluxe guitar with the smaller humbuckers. With his arsenal of vintage guitars at his disposal, it's nice to see Betts playing a newer guitar instead of an old one and he sounds great. It goes to show, the myth about old guitars sounding the best is only a myth. Someone like Betts could pick up new guitar straight off the assembly line at Gibson today and make it sound like a 1957-1960 Holy Grail Les Paul.
I had Greg as a taxi customer Zollapalooza .,, l figured ld , see if l could get him to talk ( with body guard ) So l , told him of what he said when he walked on stage Hollywood FL 1975 .,,.. ( Was freezing cold night ) “ You came out you said ;” l thought it was supposed to be warm in Florida ….” He says ; “ l Remember..,! “
Much as I love the dog I have to say a dream came first. In that dream was death. The dog walked through it with dignity. Amen.
I guess that is why people vote for Trump.
Jimmy Carter’s favorite band.
I have just been for a walk and I reckon I could work an enourmous ass to my satisfaction.
Don't forget to donate to the firewood for Armagheddon.
This looks like it was filmed at the Grand Opera House in Macon. There's a clip floating around UA-cam of the Marshall Tucker Band playing here around the same time this concert was filmed.
❤Uncle Bobo 😊
This had to be shortly after Duane died and before Barry crashed. Absolutely Historic. need credits. Who is on Keyboards with Greg. Thank GOD for Dickey and of course Jaimoe and Butch. Fn Majic, all of it.
This is post Berry
Chuck Leavell on piano
Brilliant !
Man duane alman liked barry oakley so much thst the only way to get him was to take richard betts to and look what happened after duane died richard betts took on the void and made duane proud
Richard betts so underated
Greg & Chuck both excellent keyboard players , this concert is jamming nice and tight , Thank's for it! P. S, , I just had the pleasure of seeing Allman / Betts band , the sons of Greg & Dickey , fantastic show !
Loved Bill Graham, listed to all his tv sermons 😂
❤
Kocham Allman B B.
With all the synthesized material!@ its already a lost art...
I was gonna say Greg your not a guitar player your a singer keyboard player where is Duane and I looked at the date and I think that was after Duane past and we must give Greg credit poor guy was probly beside him self cause his bro just pased and one of the best guitar players ever to walk this earth got to give Greg credit for keeping the music alive and keep going
Effing wow!😂
"I'm the famous guitar player, Dickie's the good guitar player." -Duane Allman Too bad Dickie let drugs kill his musical genius of the '70's...
Dicky played well into the 1990's Greg kicked Dicky out in the late 1990's Greg was finally clean but Dicky aka Richard was still drinking heavily and was kicked out of the band which without Dicky would had died after Duane and Berry died
