I agree Nik!
Why do you insist on doing an interview with all that background noise . Rather stupid .
IMO if you do this the other team should just be awarded the point automatically.
Not sure what McEwen was on about. The scoring area is a 6' radius around the pin, so it doesn't matter where it was drilled. The house could be painted by hand but you still measure from the pin.
I don’t believe it “does work” the way elite teams think it does! There’s a much better way to reduce the curl of a stone and enhance the curl and it’s not by employing “directional brushing”! The compliant fabric (the yellow stuff) on the brush head only polishes the ice. There are no tracks (scratches) created for the stone to follow in any direction the brushing is applied to the ice!
That brushing you’re seeing does NOT make a rock curl! The current sport science simply does not support what you’re seeing. The term “carving” is an unfortunate use of the word. It implies directional brushing by “scratching” the ice surface. With the compliant material (the yellow stuff) only polishes the ice. That’s why it was selected. Those draws in this video would have curled if the brusher had done nothing. In fact, the brushing was actually decreasing the curl but due to the deceleration of the rock, it curled! You can enhance the curl of a rock, but it’s not by “carving”!
Gee thanks Co-op!
So a guard can’t be cleared on the first few throws AND a guard on the center line can’t be moved off that line?? Did not know that…
I thought the rule was you couldn’t even touch a rock on the center line. Learn new things all the time
It's a new (well, two years old) rule called the "no tick rule." curling.ca has a really nice poster on their web site explaining it.
The rule's only about a year old, but yeah.
That rule applies at the 'pro' level. At local clubs, not usually in force.
@@michaelolive5070 The rule does technically apply at the club level. It just isn't enforced often.
Back with more videos! Love to see it!
Gotta love a good tuck

Only 4 months later, the alternate Ryokawa Mone stepped back from competitive curling. Virtually retired.
They’re adorable!
What a swing. !!!!!
When I started to love this sport ❤
While the outcome was memorable, I'd hardly judge Jennifer Jones's shot as the most difficult or 'greatest'. Maybe Jacob's, Martin's or Gushue's ?
lol@ the "crap-O-lyte"
The Ontario women's teams always looked great in those uniforms back then. They never should have changed them.
In the gold medal match they ran the Danish foursome.... Out of rocks
Unfortunately, David passed in 2015. Amazing man
4:19 I have watched her reaction there so many times.
"culdn´t have done it better myself!" ´cause I´ve never tried.
What a class act
Sicken grej!
I´ve often seen you excel in many first and second stones. I´ve never seen you pot a last stone, but this one was, in my opinion, quite O.K!!!!!!!!!
explanation is in the notes not by Mike Harris
Darren, you got some 'splainin to do.
Whose hair ??
that 5th end draw for 2 was too conservative...the split to score 3 should have been attempted esp with the outlier so close to the house, it was a high percentage play
What happens with the clock / which team loses time during such rule discussions? Or is the clock paused for both teams?
1:53 what happens if you hit/remove it but the new stone remains in 'the same place'? (is it automatically also removed, because it is short of the hogline (and the new stone never passed over the hogline first, like the first stone did)?
From the WCF rule book: A stone that does not come to rest completely beyond the inside edge of the hog line at the playing end is removed from play immediately, except when it strikes another stone, in which case it remains in play. So it would remain in play.
Sarah Wilkes is beautiful .
what a crysbaby, just give him more ice for that rock, all 3 times it did the exact same thing, he should know what its doing by this point
Maria Prytz was a beast all tournament, but she made an uncharacteristic misses in this game, at a critical point. Otherwise, Sweden might have taken this one as well.
What a comedy! 😆
great cameral angle
Miskew is so fucking hot.
Need another event like this!
these sensors are routinely so garbage, they should just sit an official at the hog line and get rid of these, theyve routinely failed since day 1, either completely reconfigure out they work, or just remove them entirely
Wanna be gangsters everywhere
I can't get enough curling ❤❤❤
Commentator says, "I agree with Rachel, you've got to try it". I've watched the video a number of times, and I'm pretty sure it's Tracey who says, "You've got to try it".
The only thing better than Al Hackner’s shot was his grace and sportsmanship immediately afterwards. Not even a fist pump. I love his demeanour.
That ice is so luckie ❤❤❤
Better than comedy 😂
