ARCHIVE PURPOSE ONLY Deleted video of Emmy Rossum screen test singing "Think of Me" for "Phantom of the Opera" 2004 movie adaptation. I think she is amazing considering she was only 16 at the time!
Great play.. they did good turning this into a movie
Ok
2024 yay😄
I love her with Patrick Wilson... surprise at the fragility, innocence and emotional integrity in both their Christine and Raoul's characterizations
I still appreciate her as christine since she should be someone that's not fully professional singer in the story but starting to be a prima donna
Even though Emma was 18 or younger here, she sang as if she was 30 go Emma 👏👏👏
To my dog i relate to thi ssong although not even close to the same level shes singing about her father
This needs to be in American Archives. Exceptional
Its she best actress in her role in this phantom of opera or nominated only
She's so sweet and simple with natural voice.
She should have been in the play as well , especially on broadway
I love that she was the same age as Christine is in the novel. the recorded concert SHOULD have been John Owen Jones & Katie Hall. Musical theatre is just antiWhite circuses for wealthy liberals. I so regret have looked up and wasted my time that show.
She ha a perfect voice, and is absolutely, 1OO% beautiful. They found the perfect actress for the role.
All I see is who Belle should have been in Disney’s live action. 😭😭 Emma Watson was great in Harry Potter but definitely not Disney’s Belle. 😥
She was good at singing and she was good at playing the “innocent card” which was crucial for somebody to play Christine
The Best Christine no doubt
A small voice, but very melodious and her manner charming.
I Thought Think of me is because fiona Is from shameless.
The best Christine ❤
There is NO DIFFERENCE between Sarah Brightman and Emmy Rossum. They are the Best in their Parts as Christine Daae.
Now let's see Gerard's audition tape
They could have easily dubbed her voice with someone more experienced, but they didn't. I'm glad they didn't. :)
this makes me feel so much better about audition in general because while there is so much i would say about it, her potential really showed and she produced an amazing end result in the movie ❤
I understand why she was chosen as Christine.
III VI IX 😍😘
she's sooo cute😭😭🥺
wonderful i seen it in los ANGELIS.
She sounded MUCH STRONGER AND LOUDER in the actual movie!! I can hardly hear her here
I think she was just nervous, like I sing a lot too and when I'm nervous, I can't breath so well, so the notes get shorter and more shakey and I feel like thats kinda what happend here too, at least it seems that way to me <3
Yes, very thin and trembly, not enough breath support. She was probably very nervous
@@einfachnursilvi9382 I am the same way as a fellow Soprano..but still ..I've always loved her..
Those high notes really ring so clearly😍
I wish I can hit those high notes so clearly like hers but I’m frankly not a trained opera singer.
she is one of my favorite actors and she is very unique which i love
No. Incorrecta voz para una cantante espectacular de ópera que enamora a un fantasma.
Ugh, she’s so gorgeous and her voice is just beautiful!
Those eyes holy moley! What a great audition!
She was amazing in the movie. She became my favorite Christine.
She is gifted with those high notes
She was so scared lol
With good reason
Her voice is not as strong as Sarah Brightman, but she did well And is pretty.
Emmy is actually my favorite Christine. I can tell she sounded nervous in the screen test and was a little shakey. Her voice was much better in the actual movie. Remember Sarah brightman was in her 30s during phantom Emmy was only 17 here!
@@ericac88 And she performed like a 17 year old. Her acting greatly improved later, but that does nothing to save the movie.
@@ericac88 And Sarah Brightman was 26 when she performed in the Phantom.
Absolutely flawless ✨
She sounds like Snow White
People love to forget she was only 16 and this was for film. The stage performers are usually in their 30s and they are supposed to have a stronger style of singing for the stage. I can't stand when people hate on her because they're comparing her to the stage Christine. I love the stage version too, but you can't compare. This movie is very different from the stage in many ways. Her voice and acting was incredible for the film and will always be iconic. Recognize that film and stage are different
@@RebekkaJensenJust the actors who play Christine Daae on stage like Broadway or West End.
Agreed completely! I didn’t even realize she was so young!
She was such a young terrified little thing! This clip is a treasure because it shows the change from that, to her current confident adult self now a days. I love it!
Love her character as Christine, one of the best! She's so young only 16, beautiful performance, Bravo🌹👏❤️
She was super nervous. It's also astonishing how much she grew as a singer during the process.
The character is supposed to be nervous anyway at the beginning.
普通にへたくそじゃねーか
She shoulda been Belle in Disney Beauty and the Beast live action
No kidding! Such a better singer than Emma Watson.
I think Anne Hathaway would be an amazing Belle, but Emmy is second in my book.
That's what I'm saying!!! I can't believe they took her into consideration and STILL chose Emma.
@@melissajohnson8050 I love Anne, but she was way too old for the role
100! Would have been such a better choice.
Her career has deserved so much more. Love Emmy
Se oye nerviosa pero cuando ya tiene el papel es maravillosa
She didn't have the strong saprano that the usual stage christine has. But thats okay, because this was film and not stage. I hate it when people compare the two. She was so beautiful and likeable and relatable in this role. Her face delicately conveyed every emotion that she was meant to be feeling beautifully. and her voice, while not large is still beautiful and sweet. I just love her.
Yes plus she was like 16, the other actresses are normally 25 or something, once I saw someone comparing her with Sierra, and it's clear that Sierra is an amazing singer but she was like 29 when she played the 25th anniversary and her profession was musical theater while Emmy was a teenager and was in cinema
@@maggieaishalee3829 Emmy was 18 in this film but still , it’s very impressive .
Compare the two what?? She is 16 and everyone who played this character was 35. Anyone can be a great anything at the age of 35.
@@felixthecat2786 many people like to compare every actress with Sierra Boggess
@@maggieaishalee3829 I don’t know what age has to do with this. Age doesn’t equal skill level. Emmy was perfect for the role WHEN SHE WAS CAST. And that’s apparent because she was cast. I don’t understand how I made this post talking about the difference of singing for screen vs. stage. And it still turned into a skill conversation.
Am I crazy in saying that I love how she sounds here more than in the actual film? Has this been altered at all?
It sounds like it’s been edited up a half step which makes her voice sound higher. This ends on a B natural and the original key/key in the movie ends on a B flat. On Broadway they eventually moved it to a C but I’ve never heard this key used before. The key change and the voice quality difference makes it seem pitched up.
@@RileyKmusicsurprisingly, this is Rossums natural singing voice. She wasn’t edited in this tape.
@@animationflow1055 Do you have a source? This video sounds pitched to avoid copyright, and when you edit it down so the song is in the right key she sounds like she did in the movie.
