    You don’t average two spring rates in series guys. Think for a second, if you have one spring that’s 300 lb/in and press it against a wall you’ll feel 300 lb/in of force. Now if you put that spring up against another spring, it wi always feel softer than 300lb/in because the second spring is compressing some, even if the 2nd one has a higher spring rate. So two springs are always lighter than any individual spring. As another posted, the correct formula is to use the product divided by the sum for spring rates.

    I live in Gilbert, very close to those “outlaw” trails that you guys were on. Even I had to follow someone to Wilmore Dam my first time, because they had been there before. Just “winging it” on these trails around here is just asking for trouble, and headaches. They constantly get severely washed out, or tree blocked. Local knowledge is everything. It’s honestly a miracle that things went as well as they did, for you guys…..

    My pro r completely fell apart with less than 200 miles on it. One minute we were driving at 30 mph on a flat dirt road, the next we were stopped with a sheared main frame and broken ball joints around $17k in repairs. Very disappointed in polaris.

      Right.... These things are tough, I haven't had a single issue on my 2023. I did replace my front lower ball joints with heavy duty grease-able and adjustable ball joints, because they used smaller ones up to April 23 and I got mine in January 23. Otherwise no trouble, runs like a scalded dog,

    My two sons, one is 10, one is 14, both ride new Polaris Sportsman 570 ultimate trail machines. Experienced riders. There is no way I want them on little 90's or 200's without 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel braking, EPS, active decent control, or EBS, driving on an ATV trail with any kind of hills. Not safe in my opinion. Problem is, they are stickered for 16 min. age. Would I get harrassed on the Hatfield and McCoy trail system for this? We don't drink, don't drive fast, always wear a helmet. Wife and I ride 850 ultimate trail machines. Please share constructive thoughts. Thanks everyone!

    I was in this situation, albeit in sand, and made it back somehow thanks to helpful riders. When telling my friend what happened, he told me about Safe Sled, so I looked it up on UA-cam. I was happy to see a video by Trail Kings (I do follow you). I must say your video was well done. Explained the produce very well. I really appreciate the different camera angles you had. After experiencing my wheel falling off and seeing this video, I am going to purchase a safe sled.

    I have a xp1000. My steering doesn’t feel like it has much if any assist. There is no warning light for this showing on the dash. I pull a new rack on this winter and made sure to line up the marks on the rack & shaft. I read something about pulling the steering wheel and if the nut is too tight it will make it hard to turn. Any suggestions or advice??

    The combined spring rate for your 500lb and 300lb single rate is actually 187, not 400. Formula: equivalent = (spring _1 * spring_2) / (spring_1 + spring_2)

    So let me get this straight, the issues you had “with the machine” were 1. The dealer you bought it from didn’t do the proper pre sale inspection they’re supposed to do(not an issue with the machine) 2. That the rear speakers weren’t included in the ultimate trim level(annoying I know especially at the price point but again not an issue with the machine) And 3. That there aren’t many winch options available yet because it’s so new(again an annoyance but not a fault with the machine) Did I sum it up about right?

    Big question, all the bearing I see advertise they are sealed. If they are sealed, how does grease get into them? I am assuming the seal is spring loaded, when forcing grease, it opens the seal to enter the bearing? Thanks for your thoughts.

    • @valleywrenchin
      @valleywrenchin 4 місяці тому

      Sealed bearings are not greaseable. You have to remove the seals if you want to be able to grease them with said greasing method.

    The biggest issue I’ve found so far is changing out the clutch belt. There’s actually two heat shields you need to remove, at least on my Pro R 4, to be able to turn the bottom left tablock. What a pain in the a$$ Polaris has made this to change on the fly if you’re out on the trail! It was suggested to me to not refasten the bottom left tablock or the bottom T 27 torque screw way down at the bottom as everything will be fastened well enough without those in place. It’s bad enough that that bottom torque screw on the heat shield is a different size than the top two, as well as needing a special long tool to reach it without dropping all the pieces under the skid plates or burning yourself trying to remove it 🤦‍♂️ So glad I struggled to do all this at home and broke in a spare belt before being stuck with this problem on the trail. Not to mention, I cut up my forearms pretty bad on the plastic housing trying to turn that bottom tab lock with the second heat shield still in place. What a total nightmare job!

    • @Googalite
      @Googalite Місяць тому

      Mines a 2 seater. But you have to trim the bottom tab lock. I just cut off about a quarter inch and now it turns with a push of a long screw driver. Otherwise, I've not had to remove the shield.
