@ClemmeBassTrombone yes I did. Using a Schilke Geib mouthpiece.
@@rftuba perfect, thanks. Have an eb with satin finish, like a sovereign but made like imperial. It’s medium shank. Will have it converted for sure!

Richard. this is great stuff. I play a Bb bass and all the music play in brass bands is in treble clef. I very much need some inspiration and your funky bass lines are really exciting. However, when I see your download in bass clef I despair somewhat. is it going to be possible for me to play with other non brass band musicians given that I play a Bb tuba ?
Thanks, it’s not the instrument itself that is the issue but that you read in Bb treble clef, which is only used in brass bands. If you can learn to read in bass clef then the musical world is your oyster! Start with some easy studies or a beginner tutor book in bass clef and take it from there.
@@rftuba Richard, many thanks indeed for your reply. Yes that does make sense. Of course it's not the instrument. Silly me. It's daunting having to start again from scratch. However, it may be an opportunity. You see, I have long wanted to play the piano so it may be that I could combine my studies to try and achieve both things simultaneously. Do you think that sounds like a good idea ?
The piano may help, I don’t really know! It depends on how your brain works.
