My name is Eric. I am 19 years old and have been to all of America's 63 National Parks. I have also earned Junior Ranger badges in all of these. For the last 8 years, I have traveled to these beautiful places, photographing everything I see. On this channel, I discuss my experiences in these national parks so you can learn about them! I recommend everybody visit these natural wonders, and feel free to ask me any questions you have about the parks.

Talking About the Yellowstone Explosion
Переглядів 1 тис.5 місяців тому
NOTE: There is one fact from the NPS report I did read but neglected to put in the script, and that was that the explosion was generally directed northeast. Given that the people on the boardwalk were mostly to the west of the explosion and moved further west, this was most likely an additional factor in allowing everybody to escape uninjured. DISCLAIMER: This is a reupload of a video I made in September 2021. I failed to mute the background music in the original video, ruining it. I did not catch this or think about it until just now, so I am bringing the video back. The commentary is identical, and if I made the video now it might be a bit different, but I have no new experiences in the parks mentioned so I opted to preserve the or...

Gateway Arch National Park Review - The Worst National Park?
Just got back from Big Bend a few weeks ago. It was our first time ever visiting Big Bend and it was absolutely beautiful and worth it. We didn't come across any black bear even tho we wanted to see one so badly but we did come across a mountain lion on one of the trails. It was about 15 feet away from us and was lying inside one of it's dens staying in the shade. It made eye contact with us and we stared at each other for about 15 seconds until it ran back into the cave/den. We were both defitly frightened and scared but we kept our calm and stayed relaxed as they say you should and luckily we didn't catch it on a bad day while it was hungry, feeding or defensive. It nvr followed us or anything but i hear they do dtalk you so i will say we did have God on our side that day but it did give us one of the best experiences ever as most people will never get to see a mountain lion face to face like we had :) Keep kids close and never stray too far away from your partner while hiking at Big Bend.
I enjoy description of all the parks. Thank you
SUGGESTIONS: Always say the State location of the park after at least the 1st time you say the park name, as nearly none of us know all the state locations of all of the parks. Also, loved the park shields, but they were a bit small to see .... suggestion is that you use larger shields, by only having them seeable in the final double sized table with double sized shields. Also, find yourself a partner or two who hail from mountainous or desert states to balance out your Florida beach and forest burn-out. Common-place for you is different than common-place for some mountain & desert natives. There is a truism that bias affects everyone, thus typical that the mountain, desert, beach, forest, or ocean native may either prefer their native geography or prefer geography which is different and unique to himself. For me, the cruise through Glacier Bay was Awesome, but generally trees, snow-capped mountains, and bays .... I grew up with seeing everyday ... although still very beautiful to me. Also, use a full-screen epitome of the place high-resolution picture or short 4 picture 4 second slide-show of the place with park name across each slide at the same place, such as these slides have to give your viewers some idea of what is generally seen there... i.e. make or use GIFs for each park. You might also become the greatest critic or advocate for converting a few locations, even excellent state parks into national parks ... and national parks into state parks or lowered status federal parks. I love the idea of what you are doing, as I'm trying to figure out what beautiful park like setting which I will visit as a drive around USA and Canada in my motorhome.
Excellent advice. I try to do that now, but I definitely used to ignore that fact.
Yosemite would be in the conversation for best natural wonder in the Western Hemisphere.
Bro no way you put Smokey mountains at 57
lol I was thinking the same… but probably because of the touristy city right next door? Idk
I strongly believe that Michigan should get 2 new national parks: Pictured Rocks & Sleeping Bear Dunes.
My grandma lives by smokey and you should stay there a lot longer it’s super fun!
do aregentina next
My favorite hikes I've done so far in no particular order: (1) Queens Garden and Wall Street at Bryce Canyon -- YES!, (2) Roads End to Bailey Bridge to Mist Falls in Kings Canyon (small section of the Rae Lakes backpacking trail that requires a permit), (3) General Sherman/Congress/Alta to Big Trees Trail and back to General Sherman in Sequoia, (4) Angel's Landing (well up to Scout Lookout anyway -- didn't do chains), (5) Hidden Falls/Inspiration Point/part of Cascade Canyon to String Lake in Grand Teton, (6) Wapiti Lake Trailhead to Brink of Upper/Lower Falls to Grand View, out and back in Yellowstone, (7) Kilauea Iki/Crater Rim/Thurston Lava Tube trail in Hawaii Volcanoes, (8) Windows Loop and Turret Arch in Arches, (9) Mesa Arch Trail in Canyonlands (even though it's super short), (10) Prairie Creek/West Ridge/Foothill Trail in Redwoods, (11) Smokemont Loop trail in Great Smoky Mountains, (12) Walls of Jericho along Alabama/Tennessee line [not a park, but one of the BEST local hikes near where I live], (13) Marginal Way in southern Maine, (14) Delicate Arch in Arches, (15) Pololu Trail on NW side of Big Island in Hawaii (very short and steep descent down to sacred area with black sand beach), (16) Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone, (17) Mud Volcano in Yellowstone.
One park I found VERY busy was Grand Teton Natl Park in July 2024. The main problem was the Jenny Lake area, which massively overflowed every day of the 3 days we spent there. If you want to explore Jenny Lake, you need to get there very early to grab a parking spot in the lot. Otherwise, you will have to park along the main road and walk a half mile or more just to get to the tourist area. Also, you will have to wait a while (up to an hour) to take the paid boat ride across the lake to see Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, Cascade Canyon, etc. The other areas of GT were doable: Laurance S Rockefeller Preserve, Taggart/Bradley Lake hike parking, and Colter Bay Village.
We missed the Biscuit Basin explosion by 2 days, as we were in the Upper Geyser basins 2 days prior. We were in Grand Teton Natl Park when it happened. :-(
I still want to get to Yosemite and experience it legitimately. My first attempt in 2021, I was turned around because of the covid advance reservations mandate. Then in Fall 2022, 2 of 3 of us got sick with covid and missed 2 of 4 days and couldn't do any of the hikes I planned out. I was able to drive Tioga road on a Saturday in October, but even that part of the park was pretty busy then (probably because it was a weekend day). My hope is to go back someday to do the Indian Arch and North Dome hike from Porcupine Creek parking area. That would be a lot more doable then going Mist Falls up to Half Dome, and not nearly as crowded hopefully.
I found that Mammoth Hot Springs wasn't all that busy when we were there in July 2024. However, we did not drive through the Roosevelt arch since we drove in from West Yellowstone. Old Faithful area was pretty hard to find parking and especially Midway Geyser basin around Grand Prismatic Spring. LOTS of people parked along the road because the lot was significantly overflowing. We also had a long grizzly traffic jam just west of Canyon Village, for which a couple rangers had to intervene.
I went with my kids in July 2024. In your video I see footage of these places we saw: Norris Geyser basin, artist paintpots, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone (of course!), mud volcano and sulphur caldron, west thumb geyser basin, grand prismatic (of course!), fairy falls (we hiked on to imperial geyser too), fountain paint pot trail, castle geyser (?? we had a major eruption when we were there lasting 30+ minutes!), old faithful of course, grand geyser from a distance (we saw it front and center after our second try!). We also made it to mammoth hot springs, lamar valley (best wildlife here!). What an amazing place!!
Pinnacles is super fun! It was my first time really climbing through caves, and it was super fun and an awesome experience. The water streams through the trail and the tiny little water falls made the atmosphere on the hikes so amazing. Compared to most parks it’s not very strong in wildlife, but we did see deer and a rabbit.
If you have a passport, go to Boquillas del Carmen, Mexico.
You should check out Jewel Cave.
Hey bro where did you find the boat to take you to anu’u
21:37 I like Canyonlands National Park better than the Grand Canyon. They’re both similar look in terms of size, depth, and colors. The same Colorado River formed them. However, Canyonlands is far more peaceful and less crowded.
Liked and subscribed before he even finished the caveats; I know a good creator when I hear one. Was not disappointed at any turn of course! This list was so useful for my future planning and saved me man hours of research. So thank you man and happy traveling
This means so much! I love talking about the parks and I’m happy my videos can help people like you.
im glad big bend made it to top ten, i plan to go there in 2028, just for the stargazing
What time of year is the best time weather wise ?
Going through in March 2025😊
Kinda crazy putting panicles in front of kings canyon.
Check out walnut canyon in AZ
I am with you. My favorite national park. Hardly any people. Been there a number of times since the early 70's. You should canoe not only the canyons, which are spectacular, but the open desert stretches in between. And do not miss lounging in the hot springs. The herping in the park is top notch. The park is in what is known as the Trans Pecos region, which is renowned for the biodiversity of its snakes and lizards, many of which are endemic. Canoeing the river from Boquillas Canyon down to the Pecos, which takes one through over 150 miles of canyons, is on my wish list. Wild country, indeed.
Sounds like you're rating your experiences rather than the parks themselves. While that is fine, it is not what you say you are rating and experiences are as unique as the visitor.
I did actually say at the start that it was based on my experience. You’re correct that every experience is unique, and that’s something I love about the parks.
None of the Utah parks being in the top 5 is a crime
This is awesome totally aroused my knee caps
Would’ve been a pretty good video, but the music killed it. What’s wrong with you?
If you go to New River. gorge visit Babcock State Park it's AMAZING!
How about compared to Guadaloupe Mointains NP?
Big Bend is far better.
I hope you went back to King's Canyon when it wasn't snowy and made it down to the actual canyon floor. Jaw dropping scenery, easily rivaling Yosemite with a fraction of the crowds. The Mist Falls hike is probably my favorite hike full stop, and paradise valley is breathtaking.
Capitol Reef? Have you even visited it? Did you even bother to get out of the fucking car? (By your own admission, you barely did. Then WTF are you doing ranking it at all??)
Have you gone to Bandalier national park?
sneeze at 2:11
As a native Texan who’s never been to Big Bend and doesn’t really know much about the park, you putting it in S tier gets me fired up
It’s has a natural and inspiring sites and favorable vegetation.
Very nice
Yo, where's Acadia!
I visited after making this, it ranks highly on videos I made after this one.
Overgrown trails near the BWCA is the norm :)
What an excellent video. Thank you for sharing it. 10/10
I’m happy you enjoyed it so much, thank you.

No Missouri?
The American Samoa is one of the most beautiful islands on the planet .People were extremely friendly, and I sailed ⛵️ by sailboat from California to the American Samoa, Pago Pago. Great memories .I want to return to Samoa island. Thank you so much for the video.
What is the music you are using in the video? I love it and pretty sure that National Geographic used it as well in one of their short films
Beartooth Pass the state borders of Wyoming and Montana should be on this list.
Are the women beautiful there?
I have spent considerable time in both Badlands and Theodore Roosevelt. They are very similar, but I think Badlands is better in every conceivable way. It isn't even a competition.
Blegh. I know "rankings" videos get views, but these places don't deserved to be compared and ranked like this. 😢
