you should absolutely not be keeping water in skimmer, even auto cover pools should be drained 1 in below skimmer and body of skimmer filled with af then a bottle floating half full of af.. Yeah sure! As long as you either put a gizmo in with a bleed hole on top to where the water in the lines can come out when you blow it out. Or our method is, we blow it out, plug it while the blowing is running (you will get a little wet) and then put an empty gal jug up side down and wedge it in like I showed in the video. I hope that makes sense

Your employee was actually right on two occasions, but instead of acknowledging that, you pretended it was exactly what you meant. If you're looking for high-quality, professional concrete work, it's best to hire a skilled company rather than trying to oversee every detail yourself. We use a empty gal jug from the antifreeze, take off the cap flip up side down, push in the the skimmer and wedge it from the mouth of the skimmer and the back side of the skimmer. As long as it stays in the skimmer (not floating) that’s what matters how ever you get it to stay.

@@jonport_ thanks again for your response! I was actually thinking to syphon more water out of the pool, to get it several inches down since it’s still only like 2-3 inches below natural pool water line when opened. I can also try to put the antifreeze bottle w cap off wedged in there. It sounds like you mean to wedge it right over the weir (?) into the body of the skimmer where the gizmo is? It’s so cold out there lol

@ we use 10in culvert piping and putt a square skimmer lid on to match when we pour. 18 is real big. You might to get creative on that one. Maybe pour a stone lid with a cut out for the skimmer and set on on top and pour the patio cover that with the skimmer lid in place

@jonport_ oil changes every 100 hours (takes 10 minutes), hydraulic filter every 500, fuel filter annually, we've changed hydraulic oil twice at 1000 and 2000 hours, just swapped out the first set of tracks at right around 2100 hours. Just a great great little machine. I didn't pay 50k for it either. If I recall it was just under 35k with a set of forks. We've added several attachments over the years.
