[S3] Andvilsk8s | Roller Skating Tutorial | The Breakdown - How To Rotate Your Wheels
Preserve your wheels and extend their lifetime by regularly rotating your wheels.
It is recommended that you rotate your wheels every 3 roller skate sessions depending on how often and how hard you skate.
My personally I rotate them at least once a week.

    I’m still working on pivoting on two wheels one foot (toes easy, hills harder for me) and what helps me is: clockwise - pivoting on left foot gets impulse by right heel circle-kicking backwards ; pivoting on right foot - impulse comes from left knee makes a horizontal inward circle stab above the right thigh, left upper leg can be parallel to the ground, horizontal…

      I still think that these two plates are the best you can buy. They're strong, will last a long time, and have replacement parts available if needed. Ultimately, if you need to use wheels smaller than 57mm, then the Arius is the way to go. I've met several people than bought both plates for different setups. I have to check out what other plates exsist to try out.

    You run 180mm plates on a size 10 boot? I'm asking because I cannot decide between 180mm and 190mm Giotto plates (I'm size 10) - your answer would really help in me deciding! Thanks

    • @Andvilsk8s
      @Andvilsk8s 5 місяців тому

      I used a 180mm Giotto plate on my size 3200 boot. In retrospect I would've gone a bit smaller, like 170mm or 175mm.

      @@Andvilsk8s Thats very useful info thanks dude! Interesting - would you be going 5-10mm behind the ball of the foot? Or are you looking to bring the back wheels forward? I'm mounting some 171mm plates today and can't decide which of those 2 options (or a bit of both)

    • @Andvilsk8s
      @Andvilsk8s 5 місяців тому

      I would want the front wheels under the ball of the front foot.

    You could simplify your instructions. The clockwise/counter isn't as fluid a concept. If you are on right foot and turning IN (towards) or your heel is going towards the opposite foot. Turning OUT (away) is turning your heel away from opposite leg. Right = Clockwise is always IN and Counter is OUT. Left is the opposite and that's where words like clockwise get confusing. Try explaining things as IN or OUT then it's the same for whichever leg or don't. Thank you for instructions. =)

    It's easier to pop in the butterfly cushions from the top, instead of sliding them into place. Just push, they'll click in.

    Do you have the hardest cushions on the Roll Lines? What's your weight? I only started skating a couple years ago and since getting comfortable I've been using softer and softer cushions. However, I'm now thinking maybe harder cushions would be better for spins and overall stability? Hint: I'm sure i weigh quite a bit more than you lol. I am down to the gray (2nd softest) cushions on my Roll Line plates now. Your videos are some of the best btw! Only video I've found for one foot toe spin tutorial so far

    • @Andvilsk8s
      @Andvilsk8s 10 місяців тому

      I weight over 155 lbs (70 kg) and found myself using the urethane yellow cushions after experimenting with different combinations. The stability of the harder cushions is definitely useful when it comes to spinning and overall stability. IDK how you're managing with the 2nd softest cushions if you're heavier than me! 😅 You'll definitely feel the difference after you make the switch.
