PS2 Laser Replacement and Repair Guide - Playstation 2 Model 50001
This is a fairly straightforward PS2 laser replacement and repair guide. This PS2 in particular would not read DVDs. Potentiometer adjustments did not solve the issue, so a new laser it was.

I don’t know. Other comments say it’s patched. I’ll try it again at some point.
Do I need the Blue disc?
Blue discs are CD based games and PS1. Most PS2 games are silver DVDs so technically no. If you replace the laser, blue should work regardless though.

I'm getting my slim fixed soon just got the ribbon cable and now waiting for the laser itself

Is the laser is the reason why my load ups are kinda slow?
First check if the laser is smudged or dirty. Worst case you’ll need to adjust the potentiometers.

this is gonna blow up when people start looking for the new sideways map from the travis scott event
This method is patched as of 3/12/2020 Here’s a workaround workaround for when you’re doing the bigness tshirt x biker/bulletproof helmet: If you have a bunker with a living quarters just park a motorcycle outside the stairs, switch to a CEO style then back to “none” when you see your character put the helmet on, then hop off and run to your closet save the outfit.

It is. What a shame. Deluxo went 300 mph, mk2 used to go 250mph before patch, 9f with popped tires goes 240mph, comet sr goes around 210mph, gargoyle and rat truck go 200mph, a missle travels at around 190mph, glitched rapid gt and pariah both go 180, a normal opressor/scramjet/vigilante go 150mph , a x80 goes 140 mph
Thor pretty sure a missile is more in the 220-230 range, and there is the hydra speed glitch that’s still not patched that goes 350
