EGO 56v Cross cut XP, string trimmer and blower review
This blower is now $388.70 on Amazon in December 2024.
Made in China don’t buy it
A year later, I'm watching this video for ideas. In a few days, planning to build out more shelves similar to the one in the video and build out a long workbench underneath. Planning to add some LED lights under the shelves and a retractable 3-way cord under the workbench. Thanks again for your ideas to help me out - Denver, Colorado
I have a rear locker only, that would mean I don't need the friction modifier in the rear correct? but I DO need it in the front?
HELP😮. WE HAVE the snow Joe 24V-X2-SB18-XR. Where Can we find replacement Rubber for the auger??
What is the height of the bench off the floor? Love it thank you
Shouldn’t you need to pre-drill for the lag screws? Or does it not matter since they’re relatively thin?
I would prob pre drill just to be safe
There’s no M200 D35 in the Gladiator

We must duel then there can only be one.
Nice video man! Going to use this to make mine soon for sure
I have this as a backup / secondary to a 28-inch ariens gas blower. Of course I tested it a few times by itself to see how much snow it could move under a single charge under various conditions. During a moderately heavy 3" snow storm it was able to do about 70% of my 10 car driveway. For 3" of lighter snow it did the entire driveway. Added benefit - my teenage daughter enjoys using this snow blower and helps me get the more difficult parts of the driveway cleared with it, while I use the bigger gas one for the bulk of the work during heavy snow.. The most I have used it on is about 6" of moderate weight snow between the cars and it did well. It stalled once or twice, but given the weight and depth of the snow I was very impressed with it. For a smaller two or four car driveway where you don't generally have to do more than 6" of snow on a regular basis, this would be more than sufficient.
For price and convenience this thing is worth its weight in gold to me so far. It’s also easy to breakdown and store on the wall so doesn’t take up floor space.
Do the diff plugs require a 3/8 inch ratchet?
doesn't look like it really Throws the snow well?
Yes the only last about a half an hour with 4.0 battery.
Looks good
Appreciate !
Unfortunately they don't have a front drain plug anymore.
Idk why they would take that away… what trim jeep do you have ?
@Cprundell09 '21 Mojave. No idea either. Other than maybe people were beating them up too much and not able to get them out. But it sure is a pain taking the whole cover off.
@@ChiefDoesStuffI’ve always used a hand pump with a tube to suck all the oil out
Nice job man. Looks great!
Thanks
Hi, I've bought one last year. I was really disappointed of its performance. Close to no power even though the batteries were fully charged. What did I do wrong ? Don't waste your money on this. $ 400 dollars down the drain.
How much snow and how much driveway
It’s fine for suburb houses that have 40 feet of drive way and some side walks
Did you add any Teflon/ seal on the caps or did you just put them right back on?
He did not. He should have.
Just put them back definitely don’t over tighten.
Great vid again- Thanks from Canada, Chris !
Thanks man the garage is constantly evolving…
great video dude
Thanks again !
Very helpful review. I just bought one of these and it looks like it will be good 👍🏻 🇨🇦 Can’t wait to try it.
Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for your review. Have been looking at battery powered snow blowers. This one looks to be priced right, and perfect for what I need. I have a very similar setup as you. Should be good to finish the driveway and sidewalk on one charge no problem.
Yeah it should work great for that
Great video...make sure you dont put the camera on the most important part of the video when you tap the start button.....
Noted but was more about the RPM to show if bike had rpm studder.
Does this require a lot of physical strength.? I have back problems and the regular shovel is killer on the pain.
Not really but may wana look at self propelled. It is very light
Please explain why you didn't check the battery life (the 3 green lights) at any time in this video? In the manual that came with my new machine it says do not run the battery fully out. It says to recharge shortly after green light goes to 2nd light. Please someone explain what is the proper way to run & then charge batteries so they last.
Lithiums can run to zero normally. I guess the manual also says that you shouldn’t leave them on the charger all year as well. I have done all the above and not had any issues.
Good for light snow but once you get those 1-2 ft downfall it's trash. Need a more powerful blower brand like Toro or Husqavarna. Mehhh. Replaceable parts and cheap plastic. Mehhh...
yea 1 foot is probally max and would murder the batterys.
Hey I'm also a Christopher, thinking about getting one for Amazon black Friday...Michigan winter coming lol
I’m on year 2 with it so far still works great for price .
*Who doesn't finish painting a garage? Your Builder saved a whole $200* Haha Throwing snow 2 feet is a Joke! But good for you as you got it for free in exchange for a review.
lol I wish man have like 300 followers… doesn’t work like that. Also get what pay for and it does good job for price. Go spend 1300 on an ego if want the best.
Can you use the blower on a gravel driveway ??
I wouldn’t
I needed a snow blower and ended up getting that same Snow Joe for free. I was appreciative and hope it's up to the task. I was disappointed to see the instructions said not to leave the batteries on the charger. Apparently, the charger does not have a maintenance mode.
Welp mine are prob toast then cause they been on it for a year …
@@Cprundell09 Well that is good news to me if yours are still working?
@@StlrNtn95 Have not had enough snow where im at in Colorado this year to pull it out...we will see. Never took them off charger yet ha if they are toast ill will with next set of battery.
Good review!👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Damn, your garage is bigger than my house lol. Great job though
Thanks!
When first unpacking the thin metal was problematic ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh The design once it’s together feels solid. I purchased to build a greenhouse. I definitely recommend for the price.
I’ve had almost a year now and it’s a game changer. Also added on more… it’s like legos
Just bought this for 111 bucks off Amazon. Very Excited to use
Killer deal
Great review...thank you! I noticed you did not have the three across the seat straps buckled. Do you use those? If not, any issues you have found? Sounds silly, but that is one of the turn-off of these bags for me. If I am getting a backplate with quick release, why have the top straps?
I never use those across the seat. They are very sturdy.
love the harbor freight level with a $300 impact driver XD
Funny thing is I paid like 400 for all the flex tools in a set =)
Are you still pleased with the SJ blower?
Yeah man for 200 bucks off Amazon you can’t beat it for smaller driveway. The battery’s are not to expensive if needed to double run time as well
@@Cprundell09 Thx live on a corner lot and have a lot of sidewalk and a fairly large driveway think I may need an 80volt blower?
@@leanidis300 I’m on corner as well wife decent amount of sidewalk but not much driveway. I would look on Amazon for the used blowers they are basically brand new just returned. I like ego for a lot of stuff but they are expensive and for snow I get here I went the cheaper route. My driveway only fits 4 trucks max and side walk is like 50 yards if that helps. I complete it on one set of battery’s. Again the battery’s are very cheap so adding another two would be like 120 bucks.
When get towards 700 dollar price though you can’t beat gas for a bigger driveway that’s why I thought 200 was a steal on this and would only be in it for 320 if got extra battery’s
@@Cprundell09 appreciate the info. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money but just want a sturdy and dependable blower, so don't need to shovel anymore.
Ego is looking to be my next mower!
I need to do a update on this mower…it’s well worth it so far.
So roughly how much was the cost of materials?
Less than 200
nice work. With the size of the bench are you able to park two cars in it ?
The garage we have wouldn’t fit two empty honestly but could fit at least one car with room on sides to get family in and out
When you get old any snow machine will work to save your back from shoveling
Thanks for the video….these bags are on the top of my list but my concern is you need the inner bags to make them waterproof…have you ever noticed any water or humidity inside the bags?
No and they are most proof without insides … that’s like for a down pour
Great Review! Keep in mind this was very heavy wet snow. This machine can run much longer with the light fluffy stuff. BTW, the scraper bar would ware faster than other parts. The rubber auger should last many years.
Yeah it was very wet for sure. I think it did crazy good for that being said. Saves me alot of time and great deal for price. Didn’t want to speed 500 plus bucks
I like it
I was surprised. Look in used section on Amazon. Picked up for like 200.
