Dashboard Project - Proof of Concept - American Truck Simulator (ATS) Peripherals

This is the current proof of concept prototype of a physical dashboard for the game American Truck Simulator (ATS). It is driven by an Arduino Uno at the moment, but the plan is to eventually use a Nano to reduce the footprint. In its current state I can easily add more micro servo dials and many more LEDs with only slight changes to the code. I used addressable LEDs to allow me to change the c...

I spent a TON of time finding a seed with a mostly flat origin point (the forsaken sacrificial stones) and surrounded it with a compass circle and portal hub. This work was done in god mode but can be done just the same in survival mode. Let me know if you'd like to see a more detailed video since I'll have to do this again once we restart the seed on our server once the Mistlands update drops....

    Wish I had not watched your video because you put the filter nozzle and hose out the bottom of the filter clamp when it should go out the side facing the pump. Going out the bottom causes the chance of hose kinking and stopping fuel flow.

    • @mr_mcgrew
      @mr_mcgrew 3 місяці тому

      I literally did it by the book. If your hose is kinked you might have the wrong hose.

    • @mr_mcgrew
      @mr_mcgrew 3 місяці тому

      It's also a known issue that the original hose was too long and rubbed on the tank, creating micro holes that sucked air when the fuel got low. I replaced that before the fuel pump change.

    Hello, congratulations on your project, I am also starting based on Silas' project. I am trying to understand how to add indicator lights apart from those that already come in the code, how it can be modified. could you guide me please? greetings.

    • @mr_mcgrew
      @mr_mcgrew 10 місяців тому

      It takes some work. You have to find the ID strings for the variables you want. Those are in the SCS header files. Then you have to modify the source of the actual mod to use those. Lastly, you have to update the Arduino code accordingly. Not exactly a 1-2-3 thing I can explain.

    When putting the pump back in, do you straight out the articulating arm, or do you insert it with it as an L shape? When you say: I'm about to pop the bracket," is that what you mean by inserting it back in as in the L shape?

    • @mr_mcgrew

Was all this done to satisfy California regulations?.....because the increase in "power" on a tractor engine such as what Harley uses, is not enough to warrant this much hardware *inside* a gas tank....? If done to satisfy California regulations, once again the US got reamed by its most beautiful, but politically worthless state!
