I want to see a video of how to REMOVE a safe step walk in tub. My father had one installed ten years ago, and he has since passed away. This tub is a tiring, cumbersome nuisance for us - it doesn’t drain properly and leaks into the master closet from the adapted drain system (it was installed opposite the original plumbing to accommodate the door), it doesn’t have great functionality as a regular shower, and our water heater runs out of hot water before it gets full. My mother wants it gone/removed yesterday, but we have no idea how, and I refuse to pay someone $1k to do it.

How many gallon hot water heater should we have for this tub?

dont be a fool. ask what the capacity of the tub and then ask yourself is my hot water tank large enough. e.g. 73 gal safetub figure at least a 50 or even 60 gal hot water tank. My salesman thought my 40gal would be ok...lol nope. Cold water begain filling at about 85% fill and thus the water was luke warm at best. now i'm stuck with a $22k tub that needs a larger tank. You figure safe step tub salesman would know better. All I got was, well gee ya, ya know generally that tank size will work. Left me with the feeling of suck it up bud. installed 8-23-24
