I want to figure out what I can do about becoming a lease operator I already own my truck so I'm looking for long-term employment. I already have my own personal insurance on my truck. Do they force you to change your provider wants your hired on?

I worked there in 2003. My first otr job. I was irresponsible to be honest. Didn't know nothing, and sucked. I wouldn't work there now not because they suck, but i make enuff on 1 investment to own a very expensive truck. I payed cash for my volvo, stretched frame , oversized steeper out door shower, and my dividends cover the fuel. They don't have the freight i would pull for my 48 foot flatbed trailer. I just out grew that stuff . Nothing on the company.

Is nice for a person like you with 0 debt, but for the majority of us that need to cover a little bit more is hard…

Anytime you can avoid a credit card its a safer bet. This is more like a debit card. We have been fueling up our dump trucks for years with debit cards but there's no discount. Its most convenient most days for me to fill up the dump truck every evening at Racetrac and I'm not sure if this card would work there. I just might get one for the road tractor though.

You can get a box of the correct torx screws for that at McMaster-Carr. And get yourself a cordless power ratchet. They're like eighty or ninety bucks and it'll change your life.

The BIGGEST mistake owner operators make is “DIY’ing” their truck.Preventive maintenance is the key. On average, Owner operators lose more money in DIY because they kept turning and burning skipping PM’s they know they should’ve gotten MONTHS AGO! Also… you’re I’m this business to make money. Not save it. Tax write offs and deductions exist for a reason. If you’re a sole proprietor… with no accountant, financial advisor… and not taking advantage of this… you’re losing a TON because you’re trying to save so much.
