This is an explainer video I made for fun about a fictional app that provides a wide variety of services done by super-powered people.
"It seems that I have been too permissive, clearly, boy, you require discipline." "Ignorant boy! This not a world, a universe, in which a free man can afford to be soft!" "I WILL teach you to be ruthless Kal'duram, even if must beat that lesson INTO YOUR SKULL!" Black Manta really wanted to teach Kal'duram the hard way there. 💀
I think this was when he was called Devil ray
Fun fact: Khary Payton voiced both Aqualad and Black Manta.
how to ruin a character: make him gay and lame
Too bad they made him gay and completely ruined him.
I've always wanted to find the music that plays when Aqualad fights Black Manta here and it also plays during the satellite launch scene in 'Depths' same season
This is the BEST Black Manta ever written. Holy crap.
Why is super boy getting pumbled every fight like we get it , he is not that powerful as superman but like do my boy some justice
I must say that Aqualad's deception was a disappointing turn throughout the second season of the show to say least, but fortunately it did bring him back to the team in their time of need.
The look of betrayal on black manta’s face when he learns of his son’s betrayal was priceless.
0:26 actuelly i think he is sad.
Aqualad was so badass at the end.
After this they made Kaldur LEADER OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were like “We bow to you. You’re better than all of us combined.”
Stone cold stoic
Man we need more seasons what’s the hold up!
Black Manta is a black man. Is his name Ta?
Una gracia de ver esta serie siendo chileno es que a Aqualad le guste una mina llamada Tula y una temporada después descubrimos que el tipo es bisexual. Alto foreshadowing jajajajaj😂
The badass character from season 1 whom I liked more than nightwing lost his shine from next season
My wife almost fell out of her chair when she found out Aqualad was undercover the whole time.
NOOO AQUALAD!!!😭😭😭😭
F**k Aqualand for betraying his father. Black Manta just can’t win no matter what. Bulls**t!
Man i just wish they hadnt made the videogame connect with the show that was a bad move but it was still an enjoyable plot to watch
2:00 man, he looks so badass slowly emerging from the depths of the ocean
"All will suffer if black Manta demands it, Blood is thicker than sea water!" So damn good.
Probably my favorite big brain moment was Aqualad pretending not to be fully cured to stall for Miss Martian’s life.
0:57 Fun Facts: Aqualad wanted to make sure that nightwing and him we’re alone so they can talk about black manta plans
I just want to appreciate, clucky exposition aside, how capable Kaldur is. Like he said, Dick is a born leader meant to lead, but that in no way downplays how capable Kaldur is as well. Despite it being a ploy, this man was capable enough to become a member of the light. Not just someone who works under the light as an enforcer or typical grunt, a MEMBER alongside Manta. Then he goes on to lead the Justice League (alongside Wonder Woman, sure, but hey). If he was to actually go rogue, he would’ve been a major threat.
Woof….I almost forgot how clumsy the exposition was in season 2…it didn’t start with 3 and 4
Not even that, it just felt less planned. I kind of wish there wasn’t a time skip because it messed with the flow and believe-ability
"I will teach you to be ruthless Calderom, even if I have to beat that lesson into your SKULL" 😁SO COOL
I love it when there's secret "betrayal" character arcs and i loved this but my only complaint was about the plot putting Artemis and her magic charm disguise RIGHT NEXT TO THE WIZARD WHO CAN SEE THROUGH THE WHOLE TRICK
It's interesting to me when you realize that Aqualad's default was deception. He kept the mole from the team. He went deep undercover, he lied to Garfield and the outsiders. He's an incredibly msture person, but the writers made him rediculously secretive. More along the lines of Batman behavior.
When you put it all like that, you make a good point. Though all this is more or less explained when we found out later of his upbringing. He was one of those kids that more or less forced to mature faster in order to have any semblance of a happy childhood with his family, broken as it was. And as we all know when you grow up, you realize being forthcoming with the truth all the time doesn't really benefit happiness and safety, hence this nature of deception he acquired growing up and only nurtured by those with similar mindsets like Dick and some others.
@TheElementsAreWithMe yeah, I'm sure that's probably the reason, but still... Kaldur was just constantly lying. Like, no matter the reasoning, his first thought when in a tough spot was, "Let's keep it a secret!!" <-(Sarcastically). So, sure, with the mole, Batman exclusively told him, but... he still chose to craft a lie targeted at his teammates rather than openly discussing with them and finding a solution, so even IF there's a reason to be found in his upbringing, it's still infuriating, because Kaldur is the best of them, but he still is presented as a liar.
Why when the girl detonated the bomb her hair changed color 3:36
Shes wearing a necklace that hides her identity from everyone except Aqualad, Nightwing, and Kid Flash. We were seeing her in Aqualad’s pov
I dunno bout anyone I hated aqualad for decieing his father that was f***ed up
Around 2:00 you can tell Kaldur had always wanted to do the "slowly emerge from the depths while looking all serious" almost Godzilla esque thing.
_Man was so deep undercover that Ms Martian, a freaking mind reader couldn't figure out the truth until way, way, waaaaaaaay later...._
I wonder what would have happened if Aquaman told aqualad the truth from the beginning about Black Manta being his true biological father could that truth could have saved aqua girl or change the course for 🌱⚖️
The way aqua girl dies is unfortunately in a way that... well to put it bluntly has nothing to do with that...
Aqualad may not have The power to turn back time but either the flash or Dr.fate (example the flash accidentally changed a little something in the past by saving his mother on the Flashpoint paradox that changed everything) Or Dr.fate and Zattana fought child they travel through time dimensions in the DC universe
I don't think aquaboy had a choice so he hay to do it so he can get closer to the lights information about what's the next as an undercover agent probably to help his friends with Artemis which wasn't dead because they faked it to make it look like she was
Kaldur:Which Is Why He Must Not Learn I Am Already Cured Until We Devise Some Way To Save M’gann’s Life
Kaldur:You Dare Question Me?! After All Of You Let Tula Die?!
Kaldur:You Did Not Want To Believe!
Even Though We Found Out That Black Manta Is His Biological Father Kaldur Is Still And Always Will Be One Of My Characters And Members Of The Original Team
You have 2 minutes
He love fish sticks 😂😂😂
It was like I knew Kaldur didn’t actually become evil but also didn’t know how good the ruse was, i was relieved when it was revealed he was just a spy.
He really fooled the light bad 😂😂
We all know if Dick actually fought kaldur he would have butt f**ked aqualad if he really tried anything just like Batman could butt f**k Aquaman they already know their "allies" weaknesses
manta's design is just plain amazing
I love 1:19 now knowing that it was a genuine warning from a friend
That final fight between manta and aqualad dialogue is so badass
When I watched this I was shocked 😅
