Bouldering Wagomu Climbing Gym in Kobe
Bouldering at Wagomu Climbing Gym in Kobe.
Our climbing in Japan journey continues in Kobe! We had the opportunity to climb at BPump Akihabara and Ogikubo as well as outdoor at Mitake and Kasagi. We got to spend two days at Wagomu Climbing Gym in Kobe. The grading here was quite HARD! Very comparable to BPump's grading.
This time I was able to bring my youngest daughter who is 6yo. There grades there for 7Q (V0) and 6Q (V1) were marked for specific hands but you were allowed to choose any feet you wanted. Specific foot hold started at 5Q (V2).
If you're in Kobe I recommend visiting Wagomu Climbing Gym. Love the small gym vibe and had great tricky setting!

Ken Tanaka bouldering the Buttermilk Trail in Richmond VA on Gypsy Woman V6- (The current grade on Mountain Project) on the Hollow Point Boulder. Back in RVA in the Buttermilks! This time headed back to the Hollow Point Boulder to send Gypsy Woman V5 . This line was FA'd but Ian Lotz and was originally graded V5. I know Ian personally and he is a VERY strong climber and routesetter and I think ...

Which TRC is this??
TRC Richmond
@ thabks
*STUPID* You must learn to Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Te apoyaste del rosa y del azul mijo
Check your eyes, I wouldn’t count it if I dabbed
🤣 hater
So what is it then? Did you not climb??
Those are things your hear people say in the gym about bat hang starts. Proof that you can encounter them outside and utilize the skill.
Dude i was waiting for fishing videos lol. Glad i found your second channel. Keep up the good content
🤣 oh man, I really appreciate the support and your kind words! Yeah, fishing has taken a back seat to climbing for sure! I will definitely make some more fishing videos soon! Just has to be the right place. Once you have been around the world to some of the best places it’s hard to get excited about 12in fish unfortunately. 😭 Plus every time I have a little time I would rather go on a climbing adventure!
Niceeeeeee
Thank you very much!
Gg❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Lovely video mate. Now I want to go back, too.
Thanks Brotha! We need to arrange a trip somewhere together again!
Awesome! id be scared shirtless without a harness
🤣 Thank you very much! You get more comfortable with it the more you do it for sure.
Woooooowwwwww...........
Thank you very much!
Was that Magnus Mitbo?
🤣 yea it was. I said his name! Was crazy hanging out with him and Pewdiepie for the day and sharing beta with them.
Nice Job!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful day!
Thanks! Gotta love climbing season! Especially enjoying it with both my kids.
Your boy is a beast! I wish I had footwork like that.
@@tortugajoe735 - Thank you very much!
シュプとノースのコラボTシャツをクライミングで使用するの素敵🤣
視力は良いです 🤣 私は登山のときにノースフェイスのコラボをよく着ます ❤️
Heel to heel swing beta looks so good, nice send 👏
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words and support. Was a lot different than all the other beta I have seen but it was the only way I could make it work!
Beast
Thank you!
God this is a fucking v3...
🤣 "V2 in my gym" 😉
I like how your gym has designated top out finishes with tape.
I do like that over just anywhere on the top. Makes it harder and adds an extra move in some cases for sure. Although, I prefer ending the route on a hold over the top of the wall most times.
good job! you made that look easy..
Thank you very much! Definitely helps when you’re the setter 😉
@@rockatanaka True 😃
nice
Thank you very much!
Lowkey I’d just walk around it
There’s nothing low key about it.
Looks like you were «kenough» 🤣💀
“I’m just Ken, anywhere else I’d be V10”
Amazing!
Thank you very much!
My toxic trait is thinking I can do this no problem
🤣 Love the confidence 💪🏼 good luck! 👍🏼 if you’re in Richmond VA come by Triangle Rock Club and give it try! Let me know how it goes.
I knew this was TRC from the wall colors 😂
😂 NICE! Are you in RVA or down in NC?
@@rockatanakain NC area!
Just imagine you jumped right on top of that kid lmao
Good weight, bad form. Elbows are too bent
🤣 umm, I am conditioning my fingers! As long as my shoulders are engaged my elbows make ZERO difference. It would actually be bad form to keep my arms straight.
Sit down start! That's the ticket.
He was actually able to grab that first move from the SDS. Then he switched to the stand to see if he could even do the rest. Then we sort of forgot about the SDS. We have something for him next time.
Sick video! Psyched I got to meet y'all out here and glad you guys had a fantastic time! Stay crushing 💪
Thanks brotha! Awesome meeting you! I really appreciate you being so kind and leaving your note on my car! Was great hanging out and meeting a new friend for life! Will stay in touch.
Beautiful Crags!! Definitely adding to the tick list!!
Awesome spot! You should definitely go!
trc rva?
You know it! You go to TRC??
Give me the money and tidy 🎉😂
Well alrighty then 🤣
I’m having a real hard time believing thats a v6
Thats set on an overhang and some of those are set on a slopey angle. Don’t judge when you never touched it. 🤣 Come to go Triangle Rock Club in Richmond and find out yourself what our grading is like. You can see from my sends that I have climbed in a LOT of gyms from all over and a lot of different outdoor areas. TRC RVA is set harder than most.
Ehhh, think your just soft
🥱
@@rockatanakaStill looks like a v5. You made it look easy though!
@@jtwheeler5985 - It is a little soft compared to their other 6s. Going up to the high hold on the right with your left and coming in Gaston with your right isn’t easy, or stopping on the third to the last hold before going into the right cross. Had to work those two moves out. I can agree with this being a 5.
Where is this. Honestly way too light definitely more a v3 or v4 max
🤣 says the person that never touched it 🤦🏻♂️ Our grading is harder than most gyms. PERIOD
Come to Triangle Rock Club in Richmond VA and get owned
Bottom looks TOUGH, how did the top feel looked like some good slab once you pulled up onto it
That’s all about those first two tough moves! From the stand it’s V2. Honestly it climbs more like a V4 from the sit. The better line is ‘Changing Lanes Direct Sit’ which goes towards the right straight up. I will be posting that soon.
@@rockatanaka haha yeah that looked more touched, thought you were going to go right then caught me off guard when you went left. excited to see it!
Spotting this is crazier than the climb itself
🤣 yeah, as you can see he worked really hard to try to keep me safe ❤️
Niceeee
Thank you very much!
Outdoor is so funny to me, its so much harder but on the flip side all holds and feet are on, just gotta learn how to use it. Great send looks so fun
MUCH harder! This is actually one of the hardest V1’s I have ever sent to date! No doubt. Thanks! It’s also one of the better climbs I have sent as well.
the way you edit is really enjoyable, I like the music choice and just the overall chill pacing. my sisters moving to Richmond im excited to visit and try out these boulders/maybe take some inspiration myself for how you record it! quality content
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words and support! Please do check out some of my other videos. We have videos from trips from all over! Matter of fact we are in Colorado right now. Video coming soon! Hit me up when you’re in town! More than happy to give you some local knowledge and possibly meet up and climb together. You can message me here or on Instagram at @rockatanaka
@@rockatanaka have you tried gingivitis in richmond? Its my bucket list boulder for when i come down, would love to see you do it, if it isnt too easy 😂
I haven’t! I will check it out. Although, it’s so damn hot right now! Gonna have to wait till it cools down a bit. Hence why we came to Colorado to climb alpine in higher elevation.
@@rockatanaka yeah the heat is brutal, doesnt help that its raining every weekend right now as well 😢
V11 in my gym
🤣
Wow dude😵
For real! Lucky to not get seriously injured. Although, my foot still hurts from the fall.
heavy stuff man, stay safe
Yeah, was quite scary. Still a lil injured from it! Thank you very much!
False start, you have to establish with no momentum. Sick send otherwise, though!!! Safe climbing man!
😂 my butt is off the ground, my shirt is the only thing touching the ground. But thanks
Like the Dutch Olympic skate team shirt!
That’s actually the NikeSB x Piet Parra collab Japanese national Skateboard Olympic shirt
Not a chance that’s a v5
Says the person that never touched it 🤦🏻♂️
and you’re right, it’s a V5-
I think he meant that the climb looks way harder
@@Ayoo6969 I definitely didn’t
@@Ayoo6969 I love your positive attitude but I highly doubt it 😂 Even with campusing it I don't think it makes the problem V6. Maybe V5+ instead of minus. Holding those two crimps into the cross moves were hard for sure although the hardest move oddly was the hueco to the last hold. If you're strong enough you can do the moves but don't think it makes it a full grade harder.
I started at 33 and keep getting injured. To see you started in your mid 40s and are like this is a big inspiration.
Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words and support.
My dumbass thought that was a fish head at the beginning. Lol
🤣
Me too ahah
@@lucaaas6774🤣 really?? I just don’t see it 🤣
@@rockatanaka idk i just see a lot of cooking shorts so i guess that helps also. I just see the fish for the first couple fractions of a second
To be fair, my son said he sees it as well. I guess I’m the blind one 🤣
The grade probably felt off bc this is not davey jones' locker, that problem is located on the very short overhanging block about 5' to the right of where you are
Not according to the photo and description on Mountain Project 🤷🏻♂️
@@rockatanaka on the caption for the photo it says to climb the overhang on the right side of the photo, if you look at the photo you can see there is another block to the right of the block you are on that overhangs with twin aretes. its very lowball so i dont blame you for missing it
What a dumb photo! Why would they even put the photo of the left boulder in frame?? Let alone make it the main part of the photo in the forefront? The description is also confusing! “Work to the lip and find your way out of that watery grave.” Makes sense for the boulder I climbed because you do have the potential to fall in the water. The other boulder is no where close! Lazy post! I hate when the start holds and lines aren’t indicated as well.
Insane upper body strength 💪
Thank you very much ❤️
