So this IS NOT FOR WORKING ON VEHICLES! This isn't even made for steel framing. This is for driving 6 point head lag screws with a socket while not needintoto swap tools entirely when doing construction with LVL timbers, retainer walls, etc... so your opinion is moot. Use it correctly and this tool is a life saver for residential framers and home remodelers! Not made for mechanics!!

Actually the strength doesn't get reduced much, the center of any shaft provides zero additional strength to resist torque.

Use the purple Permatex, or similar, on brake hardware and slide pins. Clean those mfer’s off real good, apply a good amount onto those slide pins and make sure you get a little grease into those valleys the bracket hardware sits in. Make sure your pads are able to push outwards and inwards in those brackets easily or you’ll have issues. Take the time to wire brush or wheel your brackets. Take your time. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure my good people.
