No, I will not accept this, this is my first time seeing this thing. The new amd apus are pretty good. You can save space swapping to one, and probably have higher performance than a rx550. Not only would you save space removing the gpu, but in addition to that, you can convert the pcie slot to m.2 slots up to 4 of them on a full pciex16 slot, and probably have 1 or 2 more native on the mobo. With that in mind you could fit easily 10tb of storage in their with similar or better perfomance to what is in their currently, this is especially true if you wait for 7000 series apus, but a 5700g with good ram would also still perform very good. Anyways to summarize benefits, you could have way more storage for games, an insane amount infact, and save a lot of space in the console, and keep things way cooler. The only reason to not do this would be if this build is just using old parts lying around, then it's whatever. Also one more benefit, since the apu uses system memory and gpu uses what is built into it, you would have a much better experience at higher resolutions with the apu, on say a 32gb of ram system, although you are unlikely to have very high graphic settings at high res, at least you have the option for high resolution since the bottle neck for that is the amount of ram the graphics card has access to, which is limited to 2 or 4gb on a rx 550.
While I agree that there are options I could use, budget was a detirming factor for this build. If I was to do it again I would use a 5600x or similar with a more modern gpu. While the specs are not mind blowing they run everything I want to play/stream and enjoy. I have a 2nd tower for modern AAA games which don't see much time. There isn't a monitor better than 1080 in my house so building for 1440 or 4k isn't logistical currently. I'll build another with more up to date parts in the future.
@@82ndlegion82 well in summary, in the future when trying to fit builds into tiny things, ryzen apus are the way to go, especially if they make 7000 series apus soon, since you will have access to ddr5 which the apu will draw on for vram as well as system memory, and pair it with fast ram, you will be able to fit much more that way with high performance as well. Like apus, gpu and cpu combined, are actually decent now. And even shorter summary, removing the gpu entirely would make projects like that way easier.
