Clement was tactically naive and learned little from previous encounters, which were close in scoreline, but not in performance. Even yesterday, the score was kind to rangers. Rodgers' team has always struggled with the low block, and instead of exploiting this à la Walter, he persisted with a policy that was einstein's definition of insanity. In football, as in the torture chamber, it is the hope that kills you. Rangers, if allowed by outside financial events, need to consolidate for a few years as celtic did under mccann. Forget chasing the league and address the existential struggle. Rangers fans need to adopt a different mindset, but football fans in general, and this club's fans in particular, might struggle with this. Winter is coming, but fortunately, it never snows in September...

Kubrick famously adopted a special lens used by NASA to film the dark side of the moon. Why does this have any relevance to football? The 50mm Plunar lens was developed by none other than Carl Zeiss and his optical laboratory based in Jena which also gave birth to a local football team.
