Today I came across a Facebook post about Our City, Our Story and how a new season would be coming out. It reminded me that I had made an episode a long time ago so I searched UA-cam to find it. It’s emotional watching this video of me and my daughter back then. Here’s a life update that no one has asked for. I’m now 31. Eloise is 14. I’ve been married for almost 7 years now. My husband, Nick, and I just bought our first home this year in Machesney Park. We live here with Eloise, my step daughter Aria who is 10, and our 1 year old daughter, Penelope. I never did go back to doing hair, but I do still do my own. I’ve been working for Winnebago County Sheriffs Department as a 911 dispatcher for about 3 years now. Thank you for making this video. ❤

Speaking as a trans man who struggles with mental health, who has survived a suicide attempt, and who has never really experienced the sort of motherly love it's clear that Liam did... Thank you for sharing your story, and thank you for sharing that love with people like Liam (and like myself), who truly need it the most. There is no substitute for the sense of safety that sort of love can provide us. Nothing on Earth can hold a candle to it. And I also wanted to say... I hope you know you did not let your son down. What you did for him, and continue to do for others in his memory, is more than many would even let themselves dream of hoping for from their own mothers. You did the best you possibly could to help him survive an entire world that was letting him down-- and even today you continue to make that world a better place for those still struggling with the same. I hope I haven't overstepped with my comments, or caused any hurt from my words. I just felt the need to let you know how powerful what you are doing is, how much it is needed and appreciated, and how much the suffering he felt is in no way an indication of any failure of yours. Sending so much love, gratitude, and (hopefully) healing to you and yours. You truly are an example of what every parent should aspire to be for their children, and I hope that is not lost on you amidst the grief. ❤️‍🩹
