    I saw another channel discussing how to size fuses, breakers, and wire and it’s pretty interesting. This is a nice review for me. Someday, I’ll try this maybe. Van life would be good when retired or with a remote only job. Fun thing to dream about😊

    Input that most of the videos tell at some point, although often glossed over: >For us US residents over 50, I believe 5 liters is approximately 5.3 Quarts or 21 Cups. >As with many other separator composting toilets, including the Trelino, one must "sit forward" for peeing and "sit aftward" for pooping. It seems rather normal for this style. >Also, most videos mention spraying before going in order to lubricate flow into the container, much like you would put a bit of H2O in the toilet bowl of a regular camper toilet before going, and again afterward to assure there is no lingering waste. Again, normal activity. This is also much like the effect of keeping water in your bathroom toilet and flushing it afterward. >If you adjust your wiping habit and put used tissue into a separate bag that gets emptied regularly/daily, it will save space in the #2 container and allow the medium to cover more waste, more efficiently. >Their wood chips are not the only medium you can use. Again, different videos make different suggestions. The fact is, they are nice enough to include anything to get you started - two bags of it even.

    Bucket toilet has been my main toilet for years. Theres no need to reinvent the wheel with the complicated toilets. I double bag to keep bucket sweat down. Use peat moss to soak and cover mess. Keep two buckets at all times because I use an enema/douche kit as a little "bidet". The peat moss costs like $20/Year and that's with heavy use because of the bidet and 365 day use. Its enough to keep everything well covered. I empty once a week wnthe two toilet system. There is ZERO smell, even opening the lid and sitting on it for 20 minutes scrolling your phone. No smell. I could not believe you spent $1000 on a compost toilet!! I spent $10 on one lid, the other one was $.50 at a yard sale, bucket was already laying around and double bagging 4 bags/week is the most expensive cost. The only other potty Id consider is a pee funnel that pipes up to the outside and just drains out on the road. A little water on the side of the road isnt going to hurt anything. As a woman, just have to find or create a funnel that catches all the pee and doesnt make a mess. 🤷 Ive had friends that live off the grid and use the bucket system in their outhouse instead of a pit toilet. They have very nice cedar outhouses that smell amazing and use 50/50 saw dust/peat moss for their cover. Im currently building a cedar box to frame my bucket toilet to put in my new little house bathroom. A little tip: you can double or triple bucket, stacking them to create a taller toilet. This is a great idea for men that are usually taller than us women. You might want to glue and seal them together though to prevent ANY liquid or odor from getting in riser buckets and creating an odor you cant get rid of and cant get to when the buckets compress together after sitting on it for a while.

    Keep in mind that I’m not very mechanically inclined, however, I’m curious, if the bolts are going to be too long, would it make more sense to cut them down before you screw them in or purchase shorter bolts so that you don’t have to cut off the heads which would make it easier if you ever need to remove the AC?

  • @bgzwlz5119
    @bgzwlz5119 20 днів тому

    Thanks for the install video! Just curious, as it looks like you are installing the AC inside of a garage? If that is correct how tall is your garage door? After you added the AC, how much height did it add to the van? Is your van the Ford Transit with a 101.3” height? Anyway, I’m just trying to get more detailed height info as I’m looking to have a retirement home built with a 3 car garage and I was hoping that a 9’ (108”) garage door on the single bay garage would work? I know it would be tight.

    It seems to me, ideally, you need two toilets, one for solids and one for liquids. So you don't have to move things around every time.

    Great video - one question I have is if I was to do this how would I manage any future repairs/trouble shooting of lighting/camera issues? I love the idea of them being in the wall but wondering about the long term impact. Makes me think about keeping them running high in the upper cabinets - your thoughts?

    • @whitewatervans
      @whitewatervans Місяць тому

      Take extra care when running the wires to protect as they pass through and past any edges in the van. Use grommets and wire loom to avoid sharp edges. Take photos of the wiring runs so you know where they are and avoid sending any screws or drilling in those areas. You're certainly welcome to run internal wire chase but with some care and planning the wiring within the walls will last the life of the van.

    I read the Boxio is a German company WHEN will Americans start buying products MADE IN THE USA instead of foreign made products??? The Throne is a wonderful composting toilet better engineered and better quality than the Boxio and it's PROUDLY MADE IN THE STATE OF IDAHO, USA.....

    • @dross24MA
      @dross24MA 6 днів тому

      While I love American made, here is why people go for the other units: The Boxio complete toilet kit was under $200, as is the Trobolo. The Trelino was $375 complete. The Throne DIY parts only KIT(supply your own base container) was $190 The Throne kit, assembled with container, was over $700 --AND-- It is HUGE - it will not hide discretely in the corner of a cargo, passenger or family van -- it needs a bathroom -- plus an electrical connection for the extraction fan. Would I like to have the money to afford one and have the space for one? Sure, but I don't have either.

    Trelino evo s and the entire German line are far superior to anything on the American market. Oms I’m ordering the small one for my earthquake/fire emergency toilet. The urine tank is a little small but they make bigger van and rv toilets and are making a model with a urine level window. I have researched so long and had to go to Germany and Austria to find a great one and great company ethics.

    For emergencies its ok, but not as a daily toilet. The euroboz size is too tiny for that. Peeing is ok, but pooping is not ok on the Boxio. Too much “business” 😅 The clips to hold the optional undertray are falling off the whole time making it unusable.

    I use the bucket with a seat and bags. I learned something new though, I never thought about the funnel with a milk jug for pee. Thanks. For men and for women they have those disposable urinals filled with absorbing expanding gel The cup at the opening accommodates both men and women. To close, it zip locks. I was thinking about trying some of those. I had thought about the more sophisticated travel toilets, looked at the advantages, disadvantages and decided that simpler was just better for me, based on how much I use it.

I save the coffee cans from my coffee. Empty often and no chemicals or accessories needed. I empty whenever I stop.
