Removing seam sealer and paint
Removing seam sealer from seams and small crevices can be hard to do, so I use a wire wheel on a small angle grinder to strip the stuff out of there. I works great. I usually get them from harbor freight. It also works great for stripping paint out of hard to sand areas which is nice because you don’t wind up with sanding marks and scratches to deal with. #seamsealer #chevy #automobile #bodyrepair #sealerremoval

RUST REPAIR on Square body-k5 Blazer. Fix it right
Переглядів 28714 днів тому
These rust spots are very typical places that these blazers start to rust out. fortunately, these are easy places to repair and to get replacement panels for. I pulled out my sheet metal break for this project but couldn't really use it like I was hoping to. Almost all of the drivers side rust repair done and I’m about ready to start working on the right side and start the repair. #chevy #chevy...

I've finally got back on the K5 Blazer project. In the last blazer video, I was able to finish the rust repair on the rear bed end. Next, I wanted to repair the rust on the driver's side inner and outer rocker panels that was so rusty. It all went well. remember to take your time. fit your panels well, snug, but not too tight. You probably won’t answer my comment. I think that was pretty cool. 1978 Chevy K5 at idle not in motion. it does not like turning to the right would the ball joints cause that. Great job on your video. It was self explanatory. You walked right through it.

    • @Farm10customs
      @Farm10customs День тому

      Hey there, don’t be silly, of course I will answer your question. Yes the ball joints can cause this problem but steering box could cause it too. The best way to figure out which is the problem, is to disconnect the drag link and tie rods from each side and hand steer at each position one at a time. The culprit will be obvious. Everything should move easily side to side. I hope this helps, good luck my friend

    Pardon my ignorance but is just a cross over conversion vs high steer is one favorable over the other. Pretty much I have 78 k10 and looking into just restoring it but also learning things too like the need to upgrade convert steering ect. My plan would be never go over 4” lift and just a clean nice driving rig so would the cross over be just fine or would high steer still be the way even though I’d never plan on off-roading might go off road camping ect but not wheeling if you will. Thank you. Also looking at off-road design for suspension and conversion kits or Davis off-road.

    • @Farm10customs
      @Farm10customs 5 днів тому

      @@DdDten Hi there, those are great questions about steering upgrades. The cross over and high steer are mainly designed for off road steering performance and to gain tie rod ground clearance. I feel that what you’re planning to do with your k10, a good 4” lift kit would be just fine for you, unless you want the upgrade just for looks. I would definitely recommend that you not cheap out on the lifted springs, the better quality springs the better the ride. I hope this helps and answer your questions. I’d be interested in hearing what you decide. Thanks for sharing and good luck my friend

    Sir you're a genius, i never thought of using trailer wire to wire my entire switch, i used the wire i had to wire my trailer and then went and bought red and black wire to wire my switch which made no sense since i had a huge roll of trailer wire which was actually easier to use than the thinner red amd black wire, i will be adding more lights to my truck when i have time amd will let you know how it turns out 😂

    Couple Questions ? Can I get away with not having to drop my oil pan ? Engine is still in the car ..lining up the timing marks just line those two dots up ? And last torquing the valve bolts or just tighten those up? Thank you

      Hey there, thanks for reaching out, but Sorry to say, the best way is to at least loosen the pan enough so that you can reinstall the front cover when done and definitely use some RTV sealer. Yes align those 2 dots on the gears. Torque to spec. There are several ways to adjust valves, I’m guessing this is a SBC or BBC. If you’ve never done this before then do some extra research, but get a manual and follow those instructions. That way it’s spelled out clearly for you. I’m just afraid to mislead you in this process. It’s not hard to do. I usually adjust mine with engine running but sometimes it can be messy. Thanks and good luck to you.

    May I ask why you got new knuckles after doing all the milling to the stock knuckles? Are these ones more heavy duty

    • @Farm10customs
      @Farm10customs 2 місяці тому

      Yes definitely, they are better. The mounting surface area for the arms are larger and have one more stud each side 4 studs instead of the 3. The old ones are fine but the new ones are better.

    Hello. Nice informative video. I have a 1976 K10 Chevy truck. I have just lap belts and I’m trying to figure out how to remove the plastic cover which covers the retractable part of the seat belt. Please advise. Thanks!

      Hi there. To be honest I’ve never taken the retractors apart. I wish I had a better answer. The plastic pieces I have painted, I’ve stretched out the belt and masked off the belt and mount, that way I could avoid getting overspray on those parts. I hope this is helpful. Thanks my friend

    I plan to replace it soon for the same reason, but thanks for showing where it was... used to have to nail a pothole to get it to start blowing harder than a baby blowing out a candle. That wasn't working anymore, and after giving the base a few smacks it started spinning again.
