This was an awesome hack!! Does the drill press just sit freely on top if the wooden board or is it mounted somehow? And whats keeping the cabinet from coming off the wooden locater. Im thinking bolting the cabinet to the rollerr should be possible?

Woah, these things are sub 20 bucks? I'm a huge fan of the Bisley 5-drawer metal boxes and they're $120. Worth noting that they are a full 15" deep and drawers are 2" tall. They also don't have slides, but I like that I can just rip a drawer out and carry it across the room when I need it. But, $20... I might be persuaded !

Rig up a shop vac to handle the dust as you make it. Get the one from HF.

Maybe if they keep making them slightly larger; they will find the perfect size.

Who says these are useless? I never pay mind to the nay say haters for anything. Dunno them, no value or relevancy so no weight in their opinions so doesn’t rain on my days haha. In my diesel converted haul I built into a tiny house camping rig, I use the boxes to divide stuff on counter top, so red us gen has medical boo-boo stuff. White kobalt has small edc tool stuff. A folding knife from bench made, an arc tool from leather man, husky’s new admin 600L inspection light, red and black sharpie, a rite notepad, various pens, a British sas lighter my son once owned… green kobalt has art pens and pencils, have notebooks on top. Plenty useful to me. I mean I use the larger us gen boxes and colors for diff purposes. My gym all the rogue fitness stuff is red so is the sorinex gym stuff, so my boxes that hold small gym items or other stuff are all red. My sons gym is green so all his boxes and storage are that toxic green. His armory is made up of green boxes too haha. Stores his massive knife collection, watches, pew pews, various edged tools, in said boxes. He too uses the small ones to organize gear haha….

is that cabilet super top-heavy? What are you seeing with it toppling over?

I ran out and picked up 2 US General ones. So I like the idea, and well I really liked the price. I do alot of different things, so it was like a small dedicated box for specific uses is what I was after. Like my laser cutter, I dont need many tools, just some allen keys, digi calipier ect. Well they really really need to be just a little bit deeper. Some of my stuff is the same thing as you trying to put in a small tapemeasure, my little allen key with a small screwdriver handle doesnt fit in there. My digi calipiers do fit but the drawers not being full extention mean its only 2/3rds of it come out. So Im fighting actually using them. For the $10 I paid for mine, good value but I would of really liked to pay $15 and have it be any bigger.

I want to see a really good use for them. They seem like cool things to keep watches or cufflinks in them.

Looks like clear poly sheet. Are you running a vacuum forming machine? I watch "Tested" too, seen all 3 of Adam's vacuum forming machines at work, especially the copies of the AN/PVS5 Night Vision Goggle frames used for Ghostbuster props. ( I ended up here looking for semi hollow riveting info, for restoring WW2 to Vietnam M-1 Steel Helmets in my case)

I would have just taken a skill saw and trimmed the furniture dolly to fit inside the bottom of the cabinet

I would have built a dolly into the cavity at the bottom of the cabinet. At the least, i would attach the dolly to the cabinet while it was upside down then flip it over. That way you are not fighting the casters moving around

Just a suggestion of an option, remove the drawer and turn it upside down in a work table for easy install. This maybe moreso important for the bottom drawers.

If you're gonna replace the casters, you might as well get rid of the oversized dolly footprint and just attach them straight to the cabinet; or build a new dolly platform that's sized to fit the cabinet. Edit: Well I see why you didn't attach directly to the tool cabinet

i use dewalts 12v oscillating tool daily it’s much smaller then my 20v and vibration about half as much and it seems to cut faster

Nice job. Simple and efficient. You're spot on with the tool "reviews". The majority of them these days are just spec sheet reading infomercials and very little in the way of actual reviewing.

Rub some used motor oil into all the wood you have sanded or cut to help seal it, give it some good color, and help it last longer.

Amazing idea! I'd like to know where the drill holders came from. I don't own a drill press, but I do have 8 or 9 cordless tools that would fit on that holder.

Yes the dewalt is smaller snd seems more nimble... but when u drop in a highoutput cp battery (the small round one) into this m12fuel .. boyyyyyyyy.. itsssss the sht P.S. i have both, 19/20 i reach for the the waukeee
