I remember this song from their greatest hits package in the 1980's. But it sounds very progressive for them. Most of their songs were more mellow than this. My favorite song by them is "Everything that touches you." To me this song sounds like it could have been done by the Standells or another garage band.

This is a song that has a edgy feel to it and I absolutely love it. The association is often called BUBBLE GUM music I say tosh they have a depth to their music without the requisite anger.

The Association was the first "big name" band I ever saw live in concert - 1969. They were an incredibly tight band and could rock out with the best of them as well as play the ballads. Part of the musical magic that was the sixties.

I studied with Carmine back in the summer of '78 at a Ludwig Symposium. He was the epitome of COOL! Sadly when I ran into him on 8th Avenue 30 years later, he had almost no recollection of the Ludwig Symposium. Too bad, I remember every detail including him being the first drummer to open my eyes to integrating the left foot hit into the groove. Much respect for Carmine.

I love Gayle Mccormick, one of the best female singers. She will be missed. This version of Superstar is my favorite.
