PSA Rock 5.7 Reset issues and repair.
Don't get distracted by my dirty hands, I've been working. Be sure you know 100% what is causing your failures before attempting repairs.
This gun came to me new with reset issues, I opted not to send it back to PSA. I'm sure PSA would have corrected the issue under warranty if I complained enough.

Arken SH4 and TC19-256 on the budget Stevens 200

Budget scope budget thermal mounted on the budget rifle. The 4x low magnification is usable, but I think 3x would have been better. It feels a little too zoomed in. The mount is the scope bell mount that was included with the TC19-256 and the thinnest rubber shim out of the included package. I sighted it in and fired about 15 rounds of 308win and the mount doesn't seem to have moved and I didn'...

Up-coming video I guess. I will rig up something to hold the camera in position behind the scope. That eye box is small! I can make out the reticle fine with my bare eye, I don't know if I will be able to capture it with the camera. You can see at the end of the video water dripping on those sand bags. It was raining while I recorded this.

I am making a rig to mount several thermal optics on the tripod pointed in the same direction, so I can show you side by side video of the same scene at the same moment. I'm still looking to acquire a 384 rattler for comparison, so I can do 256,384,640 rattlers side by side. Improved quality videos and some side by side videos should be coming in January.
AGM TC19-256 Thermal Clip-On

AGM TC19-256 Thermal Clip-On I'm holding it in my hands in most of these clips so the video is shaky. You will notice that the areas not in direct sunlight do not have nearly as much detail. The clip with the deer, and the clip with the neighbors dogs running toward me are in darkness after a cloudy day, so there is very little heat to see. The clip at the range at the end is at sundown and the...

Is this the V1 or V2 version.
Version 1. My mom bought a TS19-256 V2 and I think hers looks a little better.
Thank you! I had this problem with one of the first batches of Rocks to ship out, and I couldn’t figure out what was causing it. Kudos to you sir, for your diligence and for sharing your knowledge!

Thanks dude you just saved me like 3k lol the 256 is more then good enough for me 💪🏽
Дякую, розїбав підара!
Thank you!
I removed around .015 to .020" ( a lot ) before I could no longer cause the malfunction. You are causing the trigger bar to slip off the sear with less downward movement. If you mess it up or want a spare PSA currently sells replacements for $13.
Thanks
Great video. Gave me the info I needed and thats it. Perfect

This is one of the most useful videos I've ever found on UA-cam. Thanks!!
what is the diameter of your sniper optics? and does it work well with this thermal imaging nozzle?
Is there a reticle inside the TC19-256?
It has two modes. One mode functions just as any stand alone Rattler, with different reticles and the whole screen is used. The other mode is "Clip On" mode where you would use it mounted in front of a scope. In clip on mode, the image on the screen is shrunk down and doesn't take up the whole screen, and to zero it the image is moved around on the screen until the point of impact lines up with your scopes crosshair. Clip on mode has no reticle on the screen and depends on the optic it is mounted on to provide the aiming point.
@@Mrclean308 Thank you.
@@Mrclean308thank you, but in the manual that is available on AGM official site, there is nothing about scope mode, do you using any fotage of it in your video?
What’s the furthest range you feel you could ID a coyote using this setup
After using it a couple of times, I feel like this is an inside of 150 yard setup, for pretty much anything. I much prefer the stand alone optic. That said, if you know how a coyote moves you might ID it farther out, but it's going to be a blocky looking thing.
Thank you for sharing this
A TS 25-256 has a 3.5x base power. Remember when doubling magnification it cuts the clarity by half. A 35-384 base power is 2x. Go to 4x and it's a 35-192. Compare that to the prior TS 25 with its 3.5x base. The higher base at 3.5x has the edge at 256.
exactly, thats what most people dont understand. its important how big your pixle is at a given distance. thats why you can spot with a 256-15 further than 384-19 and nearly as much as a 384-25, but the FOV is smaller on the 256. So you have to find the sweet spot for your needs. 25-256 or 35-256 is good as a scope but for a spotter the FOV isnt that good. for high resolution you need big lenses.
Hello sir planning to buy tc 19 its is good for 20-80yards hunting and pest control? Ihave the same scope but iam using pcp airgun
It depends on the pest. A mouse at 80 yards would be just a little dot. A coyote would be easily seen.
I have an NF NX8 on my rifle. What items do I get to do a similar clip on to yours?
I got it from Optics Planet and it included a picatinny mount and a mount for 50mm objective. They make a scope bell mount for ~30mm tube sold separately. I don't know if they all include a picatinny and 50mm mount, but that's what came with mine. There was also various thickness rubber strips included and there is some adjustment in the lever on the mount to fit different diameters.
what does this look like with a magnified scope behind it? I want to use this as a clip on with my SF 1-10 or my ta11
It looks best in front of 2x or 3x magnification. I have another video of it in front of a scope at 4x. It's hard to get the camera to focus with that setup though.
Have you tried the adder 50-640? Any idea if there's any difference in picture quality and components or are they all the same across the board?
I've not used any other AGM products but the rattlers. I dunno
Nice setup, what are your thoughts on the tc19-256 paired with the Arkin? I see you also have a ts50-640 which is much better. But for a budget optic, thoughts, limitations on large objects such as hogs?
It's neat. But I think a stand alone thermal is more useful. You add that much more weight and potential for zero shift using it as a clip on. Also the focus ring is far away and it makes it awkward. 4x is a little higher on the magnification than I would like. It seems to work better with an LPVO at around 2x or 3x. It's good for larger animals out to about 150 or so, past that they will just be a blob. Small animals you would want to be much closer. The 640 is waaaaaay better, but it stays mounted on a gun and I take the tc19-256 to go run around. The tc19-256 is still a big step up from no thermal at all, and I see a lot of critters I would normally have missed. The 256 sensor makes it more difficult to tell what you are looking at. An opossum and a skunk look basically the same until you are really close. In that video the farthest objects are within 60 yards or so.
Nice!👍👍👍
Simply outstanding!💥👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
What is the estimated distance of the deer near the end of the video using the tc19?
That's probably about 50 or 60 yards.
Balloons full of frozen water also work as targets.
That sounds like it would make cool targets for all sights. No pun intended... Thanks!

hello, brother, I want to buy the agm ratller ts 25 stomach, will this be enough to hunt coyotes at 50 70 100 meters? Will it make me see well? thank you
a TS25-384 would work good. A TS25-256 would be more difficult to identify the animal, it would be more important to watch the animals movement to identify it.
@@Mrclean308 sir, i did not understand what you are saying, ts 25 256 will it help me to see the rabbit normally at 50 70 100 meters with it?,
Would be even more interesting with an information about the distances to the objects shown
I just bought the ts25-384. I love it. Not as much detail as the 640 but, the 1.5x base magnification is ideal for hog hunting.
Great comparison. So, do you think the TS19 256 can handle shots up to 150 yds?
I guess on a larger animal like a hog. It takes more work to identify what animal you are looking at and where you are aiming on the animal. If it is paired with other night vision to help identify what it is you are seeing you could make some shots pretty far out. By itself, I feel like I would want a higher res sensor, mostly to make sure I didn't shoot a calf or someones dog. The 384s are not super expensive in comparison, that being said... I still like running around at night and spotting things with it. It takes more time watching the animal to identify it.
What was the approximate distance to the cows? Very helpful video, thanks for posting it.
The cows are about 70 yards, the barn is 150, the first bale of hay in the 2.5x magnification clips is at 180 yards, the second bale is closer to 300. The TC19-256 is listed as 1x, but the included eye piece intended for use as a clip on is what shrinks it down to 1x. Using it as a stand alone scope it is 2.5x. Also if you take the clip on eye piece from the TC19-256 and put it on the TS50-640 it makes it 1x, but it lacks the features to use it as a clip on.(You can't move the image around to zero it) Your field of view doesn't increase either, the screen is just shrunk down to make things 1:1. I tried putting it in front of an aimpoint (1x), but it looks distorted, very fish eye. Looking through it bare eye or in front of a scope it looks fine though.
This is really helpful thank you
A good way to sight these in is to sight in normally (50,100yrdsECT)...then set up a target really close like 15 /20 yards. Take some shots, mark your impacts..they will be low of bulls due to height over bore...then attach thermal. Take shots at bulls again ( with reflective tape or hot hands) and adjust untill you are hitting the original low impacts. I liked using reflective tape because you can make just a small half inch by half inch square target.
Thanks!
Do they show yards
@@Countrytime21 The rattler has "Stadiametric rangefinder" that you have to go through some menus to use and it's just kind of gimmicky. It doesn't seem very useful. Maybe you could use it on a stationary object for reference in advance. I think the varmint models are the ones with the laser range finder.
It's the MOA, they did not offer a MRAD at the time. If I was to buy a new one I'd get the MRAD to match the reticle. They have a 12x in the MRAD too.
It's a 20" barrel, not sure what the contour ER-Shaw uses on the "tactical" barrel but it's pretty heavy.
A small shank barrel for a savage 110 or 10 should fit a stevens 200 action.
Nice rifles man! Can't beat those SS scopes. Purchased my first after reading all the hype! Very satisfied! Good shooting!
I adjusted it down as far as it will go and still hold the spring in place, I don't have a scale to measure the pull. It's not terrible, but it still pretty heavy for a bolt action.
have you adjusted the trigger pull on the rifle? how much is it at?
@scottpd1404 A local smith put it on for me. I took the barreled action to him and it was very fast and cheap, only takes a few minutes. I have multiple stevens actions and should probably buy a barrel nut wrench and some go/no go guages, but the local guy has been so cheap I've never got around to it.
@CStylz31 It's a Tac Ops cheek pad in multi-cam. You can find them at Tacticalworks and Brownells
I agree. Its not bad. Im waiting on an ER Shaw barrel. Thanks to you. Did you do the swap yourself?
@scottpd1404 That's the first 4 groups I shot after the break in, who knows... wind, shooter error, ammo. Shooting factory ammo I'm pretty happy with that.
What was up w the difference in the group sizes?
@almetej29 I have two of the rear parallax 10x42s. I like the $300 SS for the money. It has enough adjustment to get a 308 out to 1000 yards without a canted base, and glass is clear enough to see clays on the backstop at 1000. I also have one of the SS 5-20x50, I don't feel like it was worth the price. It has problems with chromatic aberration and though the turrets are 10 mil per rev, the caps do not zero in .1 mil increments. Both issues are very annoying.
how do you like the SWFA SS 10x42?
@AustrianDrummer1 It's a base coat of tan. I took an 8"x11" sheet of paper and cut a "wavy line" down the center that looks like a camo pattern. Using dark brown and Olive drab paints, I wrap the sheet of paper around the gun and paint along the wavy line. After that, any light looking spots I place fern or some other plant leaves over them and spray a little brown or green over it to make a plant pattern.
