Drove a '73 F700 237 5spd that my senior driver went from Crucible Steel in Solvay NY to Texas and brought back cow-hides back for years before I used it to haul woodchips in a 100 mile radius of Jamesville Ny. Tkought I was King of the road!! Still looking for 1 I can own and restore to make$$$$ with so I kin retire. I'm only 64.

Hat's off to you guys!! Looks like you spent more time restoring than I spent almost 4 yrs driving one...ya know 237, 5spd camelback..still loved that truck. Oh, also '76 Brockway with 1693ta cat 13spd, 3:90 rears 195"wb. Good job and good luck at future truck shows!!

237 5spd will work all day long pulling 80k only slower, still gets the job done.

E9 and 12spd would be the way I would build it along with full air ride.

Dave McNaughton Actually the driver here, (I'm assuming your Dad), did a pretty good job of shifting & clutching. Excellent really given this was his first time to drive it. There are always supertruckers giving their so called "expert" opinion, most of whom couldn't even get this truck moving. As a veteran driver who cut his teeth on twin sticks I can tell you they were temperamental at best. (We didn't call them grind-o-matics for nothing!) I'll bet he drives it like a pro now and would enjoy seeing a video of him shifting through the gears now that he's more used to it. Thanks for sharing your historic truck with us.
