Has something been changed in a patch? In character creation I have everything the same as you but the bonuses and negatives to several skills are different

Finally playing BG3 after owning it for a year and just not having time to invest in it properly, and my friends all told me that I have to try this “sorlock” build after I reach level 6. I am currently at the end of Act 1 and just about to ascend to level 6 on my warlock and that is when I am going to respec into the sorlock and build it from there. This video was excellent in showing me how to build the character and it allowed me to play exclusive as a TAV warlock to learn how to use Eldritch Blast and Cloud of Daggers effectively, while playing Gale to learn how work with the various spell interactions with it. Thank you for the video and even though it was almost a year later and after patch 7 was released, I wanted you to know that your video was still extremely useful and accurate!

quick save before you try, its 500 gold per spin

Always dump strength, then rush to the under dark and get the club of hill giants strength. Almost never use melee weapons anyway, so who cares if it doesn’t do a ton of damage? Then you still get a great jump distance, and can shove really well. Plus you get an addition option for a bow with the titanstring bow, that also adds your strength modifier to your damage. Pair that with the headband of intellect, can have great stats all around.

bro where do i get the regular greatsword when it is needed, I sold everything to Dammon and he gracefully f-ed off with the tieflings from the grove 😂

so i feel like instead of taking athlete and only gaining the plus 1 to dex wouldnt it be better to grab the plus 2 from ability improvement and use the hair in act 1 for an added plus 1 on top to get 20 dex?

Thanks for the video, still works. Though that first set of eggs was a pain. Even avoiding the reg spider I still occasionally alerted the queen. I had to move the rest of my party to a position where they could see her, so that I could avoid her sight. While fighting I ended up killing her using thunderwave knock her down to the first floor so I could still get the loot. Great suggestion

took me six fucking hours to kill that matriach spider, and i made my own tactic. I think i was literally in battle for 5 hours straight without either me or the boss diying completely, just stalling and stalling to get a few hits in here and there, playing 4 chess lol. Probably so unecessary

I recommend putting three levels into fighter and taking the Champion subclass for better crit damage instead of going five into Assassin rogue, because extra attacks from classes that get them don't stack with each other.

very late to the discussion but why not duel wielding crossbows?

I was not able to take sharp shooter at lev 4 as only had one feet slo, does it come in later and not at 4?

Gave astarion this build and 2 enchanted hand crossbows, I have cleared encounters with him in one turn with just him on multiple occasions. This multiclass is just that powerful

I'm using this on my first playthrough. It's unanimous that this OP build works and I definitely want to be on the fast track for that as I do want to learn a lot about combat without having my rear end handed to me. Being a little powerhouse lets me enjoy the story without worrying about being a pushover. What difficulty did I choose? The cat!

Im kind of late to this but will ask anyways. Im doing a durge run with this build, should i choose sleight of hand or find familiar? cant get both? besides, the rest of the build/levels work the same with the inv mantle? or there are betteer choices?

Anything that is heavily reliant on rolling accuracy would do well to pick Stoutheart Halfling. Resist and advantage against poison and only a 2.5% chance of critical failure as opposed to 5%. Also, the high elf/high half-elf cantrip uses Int. If you look at the rolled accuracy in game, it says so. So I would recommend a utility cantrip if you are doin a Cha/Wis based character with that race. But yeah, shield and an extra cantrip is not a bad tradeoff for halfling luck. But starting with poison resist and advantage is awesome

My main issue with this build... well I guess it's not this build atp. But if I want to be a Warlock that takes advantage of darkness and hunger of hadar, then it becomes less worth it to take 5 sorc for twin haste. As we can't concentrate on 2 things at the same time. But that's okay, I'll have Gale cast twin haste on me and Minthara lol.

Diving back into this to play classes and stuff I haven't before; Like the build so far; I didn't follow it exactly stat-wise and enhanced leap. Misty Step is such a good spell that I felt enhanced leap was a waste. Usually I am level 5 by the time I get to the goblins in Act 1; it's not too bad of a hurt to wait in my opinion.

Great astarion build! But, I chose different equipment. I chose the Marksmanship hat for +1 range attack (I just started in the lower city), I gave him the Death stalker mantle (Dark urge reward) which is CRAZY good as I go invisible after every kill, I then gave him Yuan-ti scale mail which is AC 15, +1 Intiative and grants full dex mods with no penalty to stealth, I gave him the ring of free action but really haven't found good boots yet, and lastly I gave him the surgeon subjugation amulet which paralyses on crits for 2 turns once per long rest. My bow is joltshooter but I am gonna go find Dead shot. I just turn off armor and keep with his normal look. He is my MVP So thank you!

My next level is six. Can't wait! Thanks for the build!!!!!!!!

The myconid colony quest didn't give me a hood, it gave me some weird headband made of Sovreign Spaw's head or something

Bit late, but to add Graceful Cloth would make a good exchange for the Prenumbral Armour. I think you can get it sooner and it gets your Dex to 20.

My preference is 1 level Sorcerer, then 5 levels Warlock, then back to Sorcerer for the rest of the game. My reason is to get another Warlock Invocation for Devil Sight and the 3rd level spell Arms of Hadar. It's so easy to drop Arms at a choke point and use Repelling Blast to keep enemies in the AoE.

I've been playing this build with a few differences: Using of two hand crossbows instead of a longbow. Pairing them with Cull the Weak with maximum illithid powers is super fun, you can absolutely clean house on the first round of combat. Namely, the Hellfire Hand Crossbow from Act 2, Yurgir drops it, and the Ne'er Misser from Act 2, from a merchant at Moonrise. Armour of Agility instead of Penumbral Armour gives 17AC, plus your full Dex modifier on top of that, doesn't impose disadvantage on stealth and adds +2 to all saving throws. I've also been using the Club of Hill Giant Strength from Act 1 in the Arcane Tower as a weapon, since I'm mostly at a range it doesn't matter and just passively sets my strength to 19. It makes getting around and staying back from melee fighters much easier. This definitely isn't the strongest this build can be, so I plan to experiment more, but those are my recommendations.

at level 4 why wouldnt you just take ability improvement and put 2 points into dex? is the prone thing and the jump distance really that worth it?

I do this with Astarion but gear I use is the same look of helm but gives better crit chance (can’t remember name) from meenlocks, cats grace armor, knife of the undermountain king, club of hill giant strength, titanstrung bow, same boots as you, cloaks if I am dark urge give that to him or if main character use it, if I don’t have access to that I get shadeslayer, gloves I interchange usually between archery and thievery, rings too but usually the necklace from khaga when healed it poisons weapon and ring of regen is nice, risky ring can be really good too

Im gonna do this build in my co-op honormode playthrough, but instead 4 rogue 3 fighter for stacking crit chance

why wont you choose the lvl 3 fighter to a champion instead of lvl 4 rogue ? I think its suits perfectly into the build, because as an assasin you dont really need that high defense.

Duergar class gets a permanent invis without cost as a racial at lvl 5 - would assume thats the strongest race for this stealthy build, where perma stealth would help you be the iniating attacker in every single fight

Bleh, ive never beem big on multi classing but throwing im fighter at the end just doesnt seem neccesary. Spread way to thin when you add a third class

Does gloomstalker always double your range of darkvision? Ie would a dark elf get more?
