It's a scam, Subaru's centre diffs don't lock to a 50-50 torque, it moved off the rollers because it had no resistance and the car was facing down hill, I've ran and worked on Subaru cars for 35+years and I will say that the Subaru centre diffs are crap, they have them because nothing is strong enough to be proper 4WD, the hole lot is a waste of time.

Subaru use electronics now it's cheaper than making a car strong enough to be 4WD ,nowadays it's just a gimmick AWD so that you can't brake it, just compare the drive shafts from older to newer cars

Some people understand it and some people think they understand it. 41/59 is 06+ STi. 35/65 is 03-05 STi. The 41f/59r torque split is a result of its natural design. ie. The number of cogs on the transmission output gear and the number of cogs receiving the torque on the front and rear axles. These cogs teeth numbers result in its native 41f/59r torque split. When the DCCD is unlocked the torque will go anywhere with the least resistance 100/0 or 0/100 whichever end is on water or ice. Locking the diff, the DCCD will try its best to output an even 50/50 because it's trying to restrict and speed difference between the front or rear axle. It's still possible to send torque 100/0 or 0/100. This is because say for example the vehicle is chained in place, not letting it move at all. If the front wheels are on ice and the rear wheels are on dry tarmac, what will happen is 30, 40, 50nm of torque (whatever is required to spin the tires on ice) will go to the front and 0 is going to the rear because it's not moving. Vice versa for the rear axle. All the dccd is doing is not letting the front or rear go at different speeds, to the best of its ability. It's "NOT" torque vectoring, trying to send power either front or rear.

Even this guy is from subaru (maybe) He doesn't really know what he's talking about. C-diff does not have the abillity to change torq split. You CAN NOT do full lock driving on pavement dry or wet because the front and rear wheel turns at different speed due to the 41/59. you will f up the DCCD clutch in no time.

I enjoyed the presenter explaining how the 4WD system worked especially so considering I recently picked up a used GR.

here it is, 2022 and this is the first time I've seen this video and learned of Subaru in the UK coming together to help the people in Japan after the earthquake and tsunami. I came across this site looking for any videos dealing with Subaru because I just ordered a Subaru Outback from the local dealer here in the U.S., never owning a Subaru until now I wanted to learn as much as I could about my new purchase. I lost 4 family members in the tsunami, and more of my extended family have endured the hardships through the years still living in the Sendai area, where I was born. So here's a heartfelt and belated "Thank You" to all those people from Subaru UK that gave to help those in need.

I hope this works better than my 2010 Toyota Rav4 AWD system. I got stuck while trying to reverse out of an iced over parking space with a slight dip at the front wheels. Very embarrassing. Rear wheels had traction but no power.

Guys, if its any consolation I bought a 2011 diesel forester march 2020, later in year drove from Essex to Pennan in Scotland (600 miles), spent a week there then drove back down to Essex (600 miles in one day). Including driving around whilst there we (my wife & I) covered 1830 miles but never had any back aches or discomfort at all. Testament to well made and designed seats. Definitely buy yourself a subaru.

@subaruvideos, last week I miscounted number of threads on a CV joint and fitted a 23 thread front axle on a 24 thread CV joint, it was a Toyota 100 series,with abs, on engaging the gears , the axle slipped on the CV joint and kept spinning and the vehicle couldn't move, it got me asking if a Subaru with it's awd , would the power distributed to the other wheels result in the car moving inspite of the disconnected axle

I’ll stick with my Honda... if I wanted to drive through a lake I would buy a Toyota pickup. Replacing headgaskets gets old and expensive on a dual cam Subaru.. junk in my mind.
