dude this is wild. i always lowkey wished they had a few more episodes with lorelai flashbacks. i didnt think the young lorelai was THAT bad in that one episode but man, side by side like this you really see how she couldn't really capture the lorelai-ness of the character ):

@0:10-0:12 I never thought I would ever actually hear a white parents use that old, "I brought you into this world and I can take you out" Trope. It's so how it works so much better when Lorelai Gilmore says it in an adorable and reasonable manner as opposed to the drill sergeant tone that I'm used to hearing.

jess was the only rory's love interest that treated paris nicely and as a friend. we all know how much paris struggled to connect with people so it's nice that jess made a good impression on her and I think that's why paris is trying to help rory with jess. she supports them

I feel like the only reason they cut this scene was because of Paris's dialogue, this seems like a perfect scene to add in the show but something about her lines sounds too nice, sounds like stuff she would say when they were living in the crappy apartment during Yale

Why is young Rory dressed like the ghost of a Victorian child? The chemistry between the actors sucks but the costumes alone are a bizarre choice that is never how Lorelai would have dressed her child.

I hate to admit it, but Rory was never really a working girl, she was kind of made to be a mother, a teacher, and a matriarch. And I think the irony Rory finds out in writing the book is that she realized the only thing she might love as much as her mother was the town of StarsHollow. I think she would have have been happiest, marrying dean young, having a bunch of kids and go through pregnancies with Lane, andkeep her mother, and grandparents in her life the whole time. Then she could start a life where she could improve the town's school, library, and newspaper, creating a crux or locus of power in the neighborhood (coupled with Rory's town meeting influence and the fact that Lorelie's inn in the future could be run by Rory's children) which would allow Rory to create a Gilmore dynasty that will probably include Rory raising a bunch of book worms to go off to Yale, and then come back to live in the town with an education that could make star hollow like a small town Mecca. I mean I still like Jess more than Dean, but I think that life would have made Rory happiest
