An amazing performance. I heard him do this at Amherst summer of 1994. Could he have done it two summers so close together, or I wonder if 1992 is really correct. It got so loud it had the sound engineer jumping at his equipment. A recording does not capture the live experience. I hope to figure this piece out and eventually learn to perform it. Yup, there's only one Pete Rose.

The great Emily O’Brien

This was neat to watch. I'm a professional musician with 9 old von Huene recorders, probably made by Friedrich himself (I hope). They are my favorite recorders of the baroque style to play. What fascinates me about them is that they were made 50+ years ago, yet they have a sparkle to the sound that still competes with similar recorders made today. I even prefer the old ones to the new style of von Huenes. While the new ones are more uniform in tone color throughout the whole range than any other recorder I've tried, they've lost that sparkle that I love so much.
