Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Raiders NFL Week 9 1984
Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Raiders - October 28th, 1984 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
Both teams tied at the top of at AFC West at 7-1
Raiders defending Super Bowl Champions.
Denver wins the first game at Mile High Stadium
This is an unbelievable game and a pure slice of history for one of the greatest rivalries in sports with so many All Pro Hall Of Fame players and coaches on the field
Nice halftime wit Al Davis
enjoy!
The Broncos rallied behind battered backup quarterback Gary Kubiak in the absence of John Elway, who watched from the sideline with a bruised shoulder suffered last week.
A crowd of 91,020, the largest ever to attend a regular season Raiders game, saw the Los Angeles defense pound away at Kubiak.
The 5-foot-11 second-year player from Texas A&M was sacked four times for losses of 28 yards and was constantly harassed. He limped off the field three times after taking punishing hits, but returned each time to lead the Broncos to the victory. UPI

In 1975 One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest beat out Jaws and Dog Day Afternoon for best picture. The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 16-6 in super bowl IX. Elton John's Captain Fantastic entered the Billboard Top Album chart at #1 something no other album by any artist had done before. Also, this pool day at 4 Irion Drive...........

A harsh intro to humor for our infant Allegra Madison. She is shocked at the outcome because after reading it correctly many times before i guess this is not the ending she was expecting.

Next to his own band, Buddy loved Count Basie tremendously, especially when Basie would play any chart by Sammy Nestico, like "Wind Machine" and "Yq Gotta Try. "

I got my first kit in 1961. Buddy was a musical God to me. No matter how much I practiced after 40 years of playing in several bands I could never touch this guy. Not a really nice guy but who’s perfect. Finest drummer of all time! RIP.. That left hand thing. 👌

The raiders should have won the super bowl again in '84 I mean it would have been a tough game to win with the 49ers in there because that was Joe Montana's best 49er team in '84 they were 15 and 1 but the raiders had a knack of knocking teams like that off like they did the year before when that Redskin team was being called the greatest team of all time they went in there and demolished them

At 1:45:10, there was an advert for Chrysler. Somehow they claimed that some POS Chrysler could outperform a BMW 528e. Yeah right. BTW, where is the Labaron GTS anyway ?? If anyone ACTUALLY believed this crap, comment.

The Sunday Denver Post sports section the day of the game had a headline in huge, bold print that read DARTH RAIDER along with a comic artist drawing of a huge football player type with a Darth Vader mask. The Broncos were going to the defending SB champs place without Elway and there was trepidation to say the least. Kubiak had been drafted late in the same year as Elway, completely untested going in. We pretty much thought the Broncos had no chance but ended up a great game. Great year, great time in the AFC West. This game has been the Darth Raider game for me ever since :)

Talk about clutch, Broncos CB Mike Harden came through at 2:10:41-2:10:47 with that pick-six. Man, he REALLY stuck it to his future employer (he played for the Raiders from 1989 to 1990) on that play.
