Thanks! I recently came across your channel as well! Please note that most of my work was shot on a Canon M50, and this is my first project with my Lumix S5. I'm visiting NKP 765 over Labor Day weekend so that will be the first chase with the S5 and ND filter, which I didn't have when I chased 2816, hence the high exposure.

If CPKC had reached out to its employees South of the border, and adequately prepared, those incidents likely would've been avoided. Everyone in those situations is at fault.

Yes, the Aughwick Valley has tremendous acoustics. You should hear it on a clear day - a whistle will "ring" for 15 seconds.

Currently on day one we are riding the train to Silverton and staying at the Grand Imperil Hotel in Silverton, then taking the train back the next day. on the 3rd day I'll be able to chase the train to Silverton. Just kind of split on what shots I should get while chasing.

If it were me: Northbound Durango Departure Home Ranch Siding Pond Curve Hermosa Hill Road 250 Silverton Depot, but you could also hike to the bridge or at the location at Southbound Silverton Depot or Bridge High Line (Get there quick, and follow others if possible as they may know if there is a helper engine or anything coming, but you should have anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to get setup.) Hermosa Tank Any one or two crossings in the valley Durango arrival I'll grab timestamps in a second to get you ideas on shots.

I first rode in 2017, I wouldn't be surprised if you did get that close, the line is very secluded. Debating returning myself next year, hope you guys enjoy it, truly nothing like it.

They were referred to as "Galloping Geese" when in service with the Rio Grand Southern railroad. Before the highways were built in the area, the only way to get from one little town to another was via one of the "Geese." Their beauty was in "form follows function" and I believe that 6 of them were built. I've been told that 3 are still in existence and restored to use.

#482 is the first steam locomotive I seen in operation, it was great to see the ol' girl again, as the first time I seen it was in 2017.

Yes, D&S uses it occasionally, I believe mainly for fires or dry days, but don't quote me on that.
