Island camping, fishing, and campfire cooking are the things we do, come with us!
How to Catch Crappie and Bluegill on Underwater Structure
Another day spent on the boat, fishing for Crappie and Bluegill on underwater structure. I found a bush in 14 feet of water that had a lot of smaller fish on it. I talk about how I found them, how to use the marker buoy and spot lock effectively, and of course I use a few different colors to see what the fish like.

24 Hour Island Camping and Fishing with our CapeHorn 17
Переглядів 2412 роки тому
We spent the night camping on an island here in Tennessee, the goal was to spend the next day catching fish! We only caught one white bass this time, but we had a great time looking for them and camping is always a ton of fun. As usual, we cooked some good food, and cooking over the campfire always adds to the experience. We are very thankful it's getting warmer, we should be able to get out an...
Big Spring White Bass and Camp Cooking | A Tennessee Fishing Adventure
Переглядів 2362 роки тому
We finally catch ourselves a big spring white bass, cook some good food over the fire, and practice our primitive flint and steel fire-making. It has been tough fishing the past few months, between low temperatures and high water from rains, we have not been able to get out on the water much. We are very thankful for this 70-degree weather and the fun times that come along with it!
Island Scouting and Bushcraft with our CapeHorn 17
Переглядів 4382 роки тому
We went out this weekend to scout for some islands that we are able to camp on during the warmer months. We started our first ever flint and steel fire, did some campfire cooking, and then we cleaned up a little trash also. Since we only like to beach on finer sand rather than rock, we were searching for these spots while the water was down so we could get a clear view. of where the boat will b...
Island Adventures and Campfire Cooking

The lake was high and muddy, so instead of going out fishing, we beached the boat on an island and did a little adventuring and cooking over the campfire. This time we put together a simple shrimp boil over the fire. With as much rain as we have got the past few weeks, all the lakes and rivers have been high in the area. Thankfully, the levels are coming back down and we should be able to get o...
Lime and Soy Sauce Smoked Hybrid Bass
Переглядів 562 роки тому
We caught a few big Hybrid Bass a few weeks ago, and I thought the best way to cook it would be to hot smoke the fish over some apple wood and try out a new brine. This method of smoking is hot smoking, so it's actually cooking the fish. I personally use a charcoal and wood smoker when I do this, I do not use a pellet smoker. Mostly because...I love making a fire and watching it all day, especi...
Catching Big Tennessee Hybrid Bass After Searching All Day!
Переглядів 1,9 тис.2 роки тому
We spent the day trying to find some big Hybrid Bass on Percy Priest Lake in Tennessee. We caught fish today on Alabama rigs, blade baits, and flukes. Blade baits were what caught the big Fish! The previous day we caught a lot of White Bass and Crappie, so we wanted to spend today looking for some big Hybrids. We fished all day before we finally caught any fish. We spent most of the day looking...
Catching Big Crappie While White Bass Fishing
Переглядів 1372 роки тому
I went out with a friend to do some White Bass fishing, but we caught just as many big Crappie while we did that. Most of the fish today were caught on spoons, anywhere from half an ounce to two ounces. Interestingly, some of the Crappie we caught did not seem to be on structure, it seemed like they were just out in open water. Half of the fish were also very shallow, which I did not expect, as...
Winter Island Camping by Boat | Campfire Cooking
Переглядів 1642 роки тому
In this video, we take the boat out and do some Island camping! We are learning more and more bushcraft skills as we go, this time we start a fire with only natural tinder and a ferrocerium rod. This was also the first time we made a tripod with sticks to cook with, but we will definitely be doing it again. It's a lot of fun doing these types of things and definitely valuable to know. Campfire ...
How to Troll for White Bass and Hybrid Bass
Переглядів 4,2 тис.2 роки тому
In this video, we do a demonstration of our most used method to troll for fish, and generally talk about how to troll for white bass. Specifically, we will be discussing how to troll spoons. It does not take any special trolling rods or reels, we just use spinning reels with some common types of rods. This method works well for winter fishing, as the fish are deeper and the spoons can get deep....

Where did you get the cushion for the front of your boat?
Right to the point from the start! Love the video, ready to see some more catches!
Thanks! We have been trying to shorten the how-to videos
Good video. Awesome content I’ll be back to watch more.
Thanks, we are glad you liked it!
Great video man! Nice lake and nice fish! I also like making fishing videos and really enjoy your content! Keep it up! 🤝🤝
Thanks! We really appreciated it. I have been told that Percy Priest is a great Crappie lake and I sure agree, we can catch 14 inch fish some days, I'm hoping to go out next weekend and find some big ones
Great job sir Waiting next video
Nice brotha.
Hey Evan, I'm making soft plastic lures myself now, if you want some more of the color pattern you showed here let me know, I can do it in a curly tail or fluke or swim bait
Definitely, I'd love to try some out, I use all three types frequently. Look forward to putting some of these on
We just went out on the lake two days in a row fishing for Crappie on Priest and they are just now starting to move into shallow water. After this cold front moves through, the week from the 14th to the 18th more and more Males will move up into shallow water getting the females ready for spawn. Still a week or two out. Water Temps need to get near 63 - 64 for a good spawn.
Thanks, good to know. I plan on going out tomorrow but I dont anticipate anything being shallow due to this front. Seems like we always catch crappie when we arent trying. I need to spend some time really learning them
Very nice White Bass.
Love the video. Looks like y’all had a great time. Follow the birds!
Glad you liked it! It's always a great time out there. I don't recall there being a lot of birds out last spring and summer, but whenever I see them that's surely where we will be
Goodlooking leather work.
Thanks! I'll be doing more, I really enjoy it
Friend, how do you like to relax: sunbathing on the beach and playing with sea waves or rapidly descending the hill on a sled and making a snowman? Or perhaps to measure puddles with boots in the spring or walk through the autumn park and listen to the rustle of golden leaves under your feet? Nature is so different and so beautiful - it doesn't matter if it's summer or winter, spring or autumn. Each season has its own colors, sounds and weather.
We are definitely the kind of people that prefer to relax somewhere out in the woods, preferably with some snow on the ground!
Try swapping one of your white swim baits on your a-rig with a chartreuse one. A lot of times the fish will hit the one that isn’t the same color because it’s stands out a little bit more. Keep it up guys ! Making me jealous though, snow on the ground and the river is full of ice back here in PA lol. Ready for spring !
I think I even have some other color swimbaits, that's a great idea I'll have to go toss one on. Its funny the weather here gets almost as cold as up in PA some days, but we have many more warm days throughout the week, so it's pretty nice, none of the big lakes freeze. It's supposed to be 50 again this weekend so should be good to try out this new swimbait on there.
@@wereprobablyoutside4435 you’ll have to let me know how you make out. Enjoy the weather !
Way to stick with it and good observation on the a rig. i think its a location and timing deal. These fish move around and will feed at certain times. Just got to look around, scan with electronics, try and if the fish don't bite move. Biggest mistake I see ppl make is fishing one spot too long.
I have had trouble the past few weeks trying to even keep up with the birds, not sure if that's always what we need to do. Even after the birds left the fish were there, I'm not quite sure what to do with that
On those shallow flats sooking up the sun on these cold winter days.Same for the bait.
I've been asking around ever since this instance and that seems to be the response from a lot of people, I'll keep that in mind going forward, thanks!
I loved this especially the ending!!! #1 spot to increase your channel's engagement P-R-O-M-O-S-M!!!
Bet those fish put up one heck of a fight. Keep at it 🎣 Love the video.
I love catching them on the lighter rods, it's so much fun. Thanks for watching!
I want your input on why fish seem to be so shallow recently, does anybody have an idea?
Very good work... Keep it up!
Thank you!
Great video! Great job from your first mate also. What was that spoon you were using?
Thank you for the kind words! Good question, I believe the silver hammered spoons are wareagle jigging spoons, the chartreuse back spoon is a cabelas realimage, I believe 1.5 oz. The smaller white ones are I think also realimage spoons, closer to half ounce I believe
Good video!!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Man ! Hope you are doing well. I’m enjoying the videos, keep ‘‘em coming. Tight lines !
Thanks for watching, glad you like them! All is well with me, I hope the same to you!
@@wereprobablyoutside4435 glad to hear that ! All is well with me too. I’m enjoying some boating and fishing myself lol
Nice video!
