Hey Jackson, I don’t know what’s really baffling. If a Jim Boeheim team gets that many more rebounds and hits that many thees, win. The defense was different, the defense was in the passing lanes, they were able to get a lot more turnovers and run outs, transition threes this team gets none of that and that is the difference. That’s why they can play great, they can make a lot of shots, but the other team is winning the turnover battle and points off turnovers. It’s almost every game and it’s not gonna changeunless there’s a pressure defense implemented.

Seems like boxing out has always been ignored at SU. In a zone defense it is hard to box, so the players loose sight of the other team, but now they play man mostly and they still never box. Playing defense in college now seems to have gone the same way as the pro game. Seems hard to bring an entire group together that can’t box and can’t be bothered with D, but Red has assembled such a group. This is why shooting 50% from the arc can results in losses.

Another baffling stat is shooting 53% from the floor, 51% from 3s and still get blown out by unranked Clemson… Unfortunately Stanford will beat us by 15+ pts.

You win by scoring more points than the other team. Missing free throws, lay ups, bunny jumpers, and threes, you lose.

Would the game be less frustrating if there was a scapegoat. For Eddie, maybe Moses Malone rather than Shaq? The would have had to be 13 for 13 from the line to win this game. The 13 attempts are an issue: we shot 32 three pointers and you get fouled more often on two pointers. If they'd attempted 21 free throws, as Pitt did and made the same percentage, then we would have one I don't place that on the refs. I place that on our offense, which settled for too many threes.

I think they can get to 7 wins 8 is a stretch goal but to get there they’d have to upset one of these four ND Tennessee Miami Clemson if they can split that 8 wins are possible

Lampkin despite getting 23 boards missed a lot of shots at the rim. And many of those rebounds were from his own misses.

I think that right from the beginning this team does not have anyone that can consistently put players the ball in the basket. Maybe 3 skilled players. So sad.

It's really this simple...SU doesn't have the money to be successful in basketball and Football at the same time...Thats a Huge Problem...Reality folks...

Maybe Julie Boeheim can coach the team now, like she did the last few years when Jim was there.

One of syracuses biggest problems is there allways seems to be at least one player , usually more has a lousy game or does the absolute wrong thing such as Davis shooting up 5 threes and not able to score in the paint as well as Carlos and Bell being hot and cold. Too inconsist and getting no help coming off the bench in this case for a complete game

The team needs more.Bottom line,the team will never make it unless they can clean up their mistakes.

Sorry I never got the feeling they would pull this game out Maybe a few years ago....but when they fell behind it was all over Way to many mistakes on defense and poor shot selection that falls completely on Autry

I'm hoping for at least 6-6.

I'd like to know how many seniors and players leaving early Tennessee, ND, Miami, Ga Tech, and SMU had. Everyone is basing the strength of schedule for next year based on the teams from this year while acknowledging everyone Syracuse has to replace. Lets compare apples to apples. Maybe a fun podcast to do in the future!

Does 4 losses with the toughest schedule in football make us an autoqualifier for the playoff like any average SEC team would contest?

I’m extremely worried about the O-Line and D-Line, but if some players really step it up I can see another 9-3 season. If those two key groups play how I fear they might, then I see 5-7 or 6-6. I’m excited for the Spring game though!

They can beat SMU, GT, Notre Dame next season for sure. The only game I dont see them having much of a chance is at Clemson based on returning players

We went 5-7 in 2019, thanks to Trill Williams. I think 6-6 or 7-5 in 2025 would be an excellent season. Then let's see what we've got for 2026.

I'm sure they have more talent 70 or 80 teams. Just can't play like it

But we lost that game so ya it would have really put a crimp on who but they (smu ) had a better acc record

Who did Smu play besides BYU who was good but no better than Syracuses record cause we won all our non conference games with a Stanford win
