How To Carve A Turkey in a Few Easy Steps
I remember Zorn’s well. My stepfather used to bring their chicken, ribs, cole slaw, and potato salad home for many a dinner while I was a kid in the 1980s. Delicious food!
My grandparents lived a couple of blocks behind The Embassy Diner, and always hosted Thanksgiving. Naturally, the turkey was always ordered (uncooked) from Zorn's, from the late '60s - mid '90s. Great memories.
I just bought the chopped chicken liver ...... good stuff
Zorns was my mother’s go to place for takeout! It was one of my favorite places to go as a child. My mother would park and go inside, and I would run to the zoo. Everyone who worked there was always so friendly! The food was and still is delicious❤!! Zorns is one of my favorite memories of being raised on Long Island
What happened to the Zorn’s in Bellmore?
STILL THE BEST....
I became friends with Joe Zorn in the late 80s. He bought a Twin Piper aircraft which I replaced all of the Avionics on it for him. I had the privilege of doing a lot of flying with him. Joe was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I lost touch when I moved to CT but made it a point to come in and say hello when I was back in town. I miss our conversations and miss him as a friend
The camera is too far away and your cutting board is crowded. Can't see what you are doing
My man gave us the bird eye view.
We would regularly get a bucket of chicken in the early 70s when we moved into Levittown 😊
live here 55 years ON STEWART AVE.. GREAT PLACE
My grandparents, parents, brother and I used to come to get chickens, chicken pies and fruit pies here. (1957-1966). My brother and I went wild for the petting zoo.😍
Amazing
Good stuff! Good luck in your retirement.
I like the design of the platter. Your carving the turkey was perfect.
Man, you make this looks easy!
I think I saw dust come out of that breast when he cut it off
Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thumbs down? I didn't know turkeys had thumbs. I woke to the sounds of turkeys and chickens from 1952 on growing up on Cedar Drive, what is now first street east of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway----pre-1964 the Bethpage drive in movie theater sat across from Zorn's (and Nicholson's) poultry farms.
I cannot take this torture haha, makes me sooo hungry , OMG lovely turkey!
The New York accent isn’t strong enough.

Thanks for the useful information and tips .
I grew up in Bethpage during the 60s (great time - Wetsons, Smileys etc) I remember going to Zorns every Sunday my mom would go inside to order and me and my sisters would go to the east side of building to see the small zoo. There were peacocks and all sort of animals! I live in a New England state, but visit LI often. I ALWAYS stop at Zorns and spend a lot of money there. I cant get enough! Their apple pies are the BEST I ever had. WAY better then Briermere farms! (I tried them once) they couldn't hold a candle to ZORNS!! I ALWAYS pick up 6-10 bottles of chicken spices (wish they shipped out of state) for when I make rotisserie chicken, OMG simply the best! I was saddened to see the old place not there anymore as they outgrew the old place and moved next door, still on thier own property. When I lived in Nassau county i would always frequent the Bellmore store too. (Sad to see the east meadow store close) Please! NEVER go out of business!!! Zorms is a LONG ISLAND icon!!
I’ve enjoyed Zorn’s since I was a young kid in the late 1940’s and my parents took me there. Then I got married. We had two sons who loved visiting the little zoo in back while we ordered dinners. Next, after the boys left and my wife passed, I have still been visiting and enjoying great food. My fav is actually the chicken pot pies for this 80 year old. But I miss the original building very much.
I can't believe someone did a video about Zorn we went there whenever we visited relative i.n Jericho or Massapequa. Super bowl Sunday we ordered their ribs and chicken.the best. I'm driving up from Florida to get some tomorrow.
Chick fillet of long island
Was lucky enough to have eaten from there many times. Neat to see the history of it.
Great video
When are you guys coming into the 21st century. Lived here all my life and been in this store twice. Should carry on their family heritage and make people aware of their food. The only incentive to visit this store (as per all the comments) is from memories. The store is so unappetizing from the inside to the outside. I hate to see wasted talent! A gem that chooses to stay in the rough. What a shame. 1500 views in 2 years says it all.
Just ate one tonight. The taste is unbelievable. Been eating them since about 1949 when my dad took me to Zorns when we moved from Brooklyn ‘way out in the sticks’ to... Elmont.
I love Zorn’s since 1940’s.
Fell in love with the opportunities in America. Wow. Who would have thought that at one time people saw America as a land to pursue your dreams.
People still do
My experiences with Zorn’s began some time in the late 1940’s or early 1950’s when I was a kid. Dad took my brother, sister and me to Zorn’s but I remember little of it except for the great taste of turkey pot pies and fried chicken. In the 1974- 1979 period I was married and my wife and I took our young boys there in Bethpage. I remember a set of cages or something in back of the building holding livestock which the boys loved to visit. Since then, I am a widower and still stop by for fried chicken and chicken pot pies and I love it. The new store building is nice but I miss the older one.
It's a great story. But it may as well be on another planet now
You guys are great! Same great service since 1940, you can't beat that!
Very rare for a family owned business. Usually by the 3rd or 4th generation the children are too spoiled to continue running a business and either sell or run the business down until it is nothing and become landlords
Growing up on Long Island was great partly to those Zorn buckets and everything else on the the menu. A Long Island treasure. When Long Island is brought up, Zorns (and the Calderone) come up first in mind. Miss it. The only thing now that could bring back that good ol’ Long Island ‘back to roots’ feeling at 2000 miles away is if they delivered to Colorado. One can wish. Right..
Hi Merrill .. . How come I dont see Allan and Arthur mentioned anywhere? I used to hang out with them when I was little in Oyster Bay Estates. I might have seen you around the pool?
First time we had Zorn’s was 50 years ago, we moved to Farmingdale in January, 1970!
Zorn's keeps getting smaller and smaller. Half of their remaining property was sold to a Honda dealership.
I’m very impressed. Great respect for you and your family. However, your excellent food results in my expanding girth. Be well.
BETWEEN 1949 & 59 MY FAMILY & I ATE MANY MEALS FROM ZORN'S, WHICH WAS 5 MINUTES FROM OUT HOME!
1960 TO 1989 For my family and brothers families . My parents before then . Only reason we stopped was move to establish a farm upstate n.y.
IN LOVE WITH THIS
Should’ve done Close-ups. I had no Idea what he was doing....
Wow 80 years of serving food to Many Many people here on Long Island Congrats !
