Alan you will be greatly missed. You are "THE VOICE OF NHRA" and always will be for me. I have attended multiple NHRA events and always went to Nitro School just so I could get a chance to speak to you personally. It's hard to believe, that you even answer your emails in record time. To me you and your voice and knowledge of the sport cannot ever be replaced. Shame on NHRA for not renewing your contract. I don't think I will renew my subscription to NHRA TV. We didn't get a vote on this - but we can vote with our $s. I pray you will get back in to NHRA in some capacity. We need your wit, we need your knowledge, and we need your great voice back where it belongs. Good luck to you in your future, and just know - that we the fans thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the early mornings, late nights, plane rides, and all the trouble you went through in 30 years to educate, entertain, and most importantly, give us all a piece of your heart and love for this great sport. WOW...!..enjoyed u announcing the stock class's live @ the track...!...!..always made me chuckle...great sence of humor..!..it wount "sound" like an NHRA event without u...IMO...!...thanks Alan...best of luck stay healthy...i think this is another mistake on NHRA's part ...!...!..just my oppion...!..also always like'd Mike Dunn's coverage on TV...!..

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am not new to drag strip announcers,,,,,,,,,,,,When nhra first put out the on-line prepaid telecast,,,,,,,maybe 8 years ago,,,,,,,,,,all access ????something,,,,,,,,then the name changed,,,,,,[thats the issue ],,,,,,,,,today , names change like weather forcasts,,,,,,,,,, I'm from the east coast,,,,On a weekend of a national event,,,,,,early in the day,,,,,,I would see on my PC,,,,,,the slow motion activities of a hot racetrack coming to life,,,,,,,,,When Alan came on the mike,,,,,,,and started the meet,,,,,,,I felt like I was there,,,,,,It was really better than bein there,,,I was home in my glory,,,,,,,I've heard some nhra announcers before Alan,,,,,,,some I miss [steve evans ] its been a long run for me at 74 yrs young,,,,,,Yet Alan was more than an announcer,,,,,,He was an active gearhead , and his passion added to the racing activities,,,,,,,,Hell , I loved Nitro school on saturdays,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,As a doorslammer car lover , saturdays was the time to be at the track,,,,,,,,,Anyway,,,,,,I could type out all my respect for Alans work,,,,,,,But let me end my comments of respect,,,,,by knowing , Now he has more time to get his projects ready to race,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SOMEHOW,,,,,the nhra is LUCKY,,,,,,to have other talents and gearheads,,,,,,,such as Brian Lohnes,,,,,,Joe Costelllo,,,,and the guy that runs a super comp dragster,,,,,,that announces , here and whenever,,,,,,,the low zone guy that plays music , don't count to me,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ANYWAY,,,,,,,,WHEN JET CARS COME OUT AT THE END OF A SATURDAYS RACING,,,,,,,,let the jet sounds of dry hops be heard,,,,and not be eclipsed by over enthusiastic microphones................................................,

Sadly, ANOTHER screw-up by NHRA! Count it as one of the more questionable decisions that is keeping NHRA on it’s DOWNHILL spiral toward a path that is circling the drain and hopefully OUT the drag racing door, before any more quality personnel are dismissed FOR NO GOOD REASON!!

I always enjoyed leaving .TV on all day at work, just having the announcing on in the background. Alan's voice is one of those voices you can just listen to all day. To me, he is on the same level as Steve Evans and Big Mac, simply one of the best. It takes time for a personality to become so ingrained, and Alan certainly cemented his legacy as one of the best. I'm sure Jason or Brian will train my ears to their cadence eventually, but DANG, sure gonna miss Alan's "'isms". Best of luck in everything you do man. OH! Who the heck gonna answer the announcer@... now? I got questions!!!

“Attention in the pits” I will certainly miss hearing those words at the track, along with so many others. Thank you Alan. And hope to hear you at a drag strip again soon.

Alan, I am going to truly miss hearing your beautiful voice calling NHRA Drag Racing. Like Buster Couch and Rick Stewart, Alan is a part of the NHRA. Far better at calling a race than most anyone behind the microphone. I’ll miss him while in the stands in Pomona.

This is B.S. Alan is the best of the best. No wonder NHRA is losing its fan base at a record pace. They care more about their paychecks than the people who make my race day experience.

What a sad day for the NHRA and especially sportsman Drag Racing. I'm sure the NHRA will bring in some slick clueless "personality" to replace a guy who knows Drag Racing from top to bottom. Take care Alan and as a long time fan of Drag Racing I wish you the best.

It’s not about money. NHRA sat Alan in the corner during the season, while still under contract.

It's just not going to be the same without Alan.... Last year they kept bouncing him around, and I kept asking myself... Where's Alan.... But like starter Rick Stewart leaving... These things happen things go on. NHRA a forever evolving sport. For the good and the bad.

To the NHRA or the IHRA, you should damn well better think about going back to quarter mile racing, not to mention a new drag strip in the place where it all started as it is going extinct in So.Cal.(take a look at the grandstands the last five plus years at Pomona) The sponsors are evaporating, short fields, etc. There has got to be some ideas out there. And referring to a new drag strip, meaning one with a god awful long shut down area and tires that can take it as otherwise drag racing in California seems to be disappearing. Sorry for the rant.

SAY IT AIN'T SO ALAN...

NHRA has been going down for years! I was a diehard NHRA fan that went to multiple races every year but the last 2 years I have not watched or attended. They cater to the big owners and screw over the small teams. Alan Reinhart was dedicated for years and a huge part of the NHRA. Wish nothing but the best for him and will be waiting to buy my IHRA tickets and support that group. This will make IHRA so much better with Alan Reinhart.

I'm really bummed right now . Thanks for all the good times. We'll be watching for where ever you land ! GOOD LUCK !!
