Epic Soap Making Fail! What Went Wrong with My Salt Soap?
Epic Soap Making Fail! What Went Wrong with My Salt Soap?
Sometimes, soap making doesn’t go as planned… and this was one of those times! 😅 In this video, I attempted to make a salt soap, but things went south fast. My batter thickened way too quickly, making it completely unusable. I think I soaped at too high of a temperature, but the salt also clumped weirdly, and I have no idea why! 🤯
💬 Does anyone know how to prevent salt from clumping once it's added to the batter? Drop your tips in the comments-I’d love to hear them!

Do you need to have insurance for selling soaps and lip balms? Thanks for the tip on getting the small business started.
@@sujachristodoss518 in Ontario Canada yes you should have insurance. I do - it costs around $650/year.
@WillowandPip thank you so much.

This means the world! Thank you so much for your kind words and support.
Demo would be appreciated 😊 but thank you for this detailed video!
Oh good idea, I didn’t think of that. I’ll be sure to include one in my next bath bomb video so you can see who they react.
Very helpful! Thank you
I am so glad it was helpful!
Lovely and simple. ❤
thank you!
Do you use a 50/50 lye water solution,
I see a lot of soap makers use a 50/50 lye solution but I don’t - mine is about 30 percent lye to water. Its just how I learned and never tried another way
Must see the cut please!! ❤❤ beautiful. Also love heat transfer method.
Ahhhh lovely video but you need to show the cut, it feels incomplete without it😢
Great video
@@karenurbanski5004 thank you - soap making is my passion and hope if shows through
New subscriber! I am in the states (Virginia) . I love making candles(and soap from our goat milk!!) I use beeswax and it was a learning experience for sure !! I almost gave up!! BUT finally have a consistent product! I love that you use apricot wax! ~jc
@@SteadfastTrailFarm amazing! I just checked out your channel and will binge watching here shortly!!!!
@WillowandPip awe! Thank you! I haven't really been consistent! But plans for vlogging in 2025 are well on their way! ☺️
Do you find that your soap labels ever slip off? I have a narrower label, but it's attached the same way, and they slip off over time. Your products look fantastic!
@@trishapomeroy9251 if I let my Soaps cure for at least 4 weeks then the bands stay on pretty good. I find if I add the band in less time, the soap may still be curing and therefore shrinking, causing the band to slip.
