I head to a small lake next to a secondary highway north of Sudbury to try out my Nortent Gamme 6 hot tent and to see if I can catch anything fishing from my Sportspal canoe. It wasn't the most tranquil camping spot, but it was still a fun adventure.

I venture out to a back lake on an early fall day. It's a little foggy and cool in the morning, but the sun comes out to warm me up. I end up catching a handful of fish, nothing special but I do catch a 17" walleye for dinner.

This is an update to my previous video, "Electric Trolling Motor Sportspal Canoe Initial Thoughts". I have since returned the Newport Vessels Kayak Series (55 lb thrust) trolling motor and have replaced it with a Minn Kota Endura Max (50 lb thrust) trolling motor. Summer time walleye fishing can be a challenge. The key is being willing to mix it up and don't stick to one particular lure or method. Persistence and willing to change techniques paid off for me this day fishing a small back lake.

I venture out on an unnamed back lake in search of some early June walleye. I just so happen to be testing out my brand new Electric Trolling motor too. The walleye don't disappoint and they sure are feisty today!

I've officially had enough of the challenges with a small, gas outboard motor. No more messing around with changing oil, gummed up carbs, bad fuel. No more not starting, no more stalling. No more ruining my day, before I'm even able to fish.

Heading home on my 2009 Yamaha Venture Lite snowmobile after an afternoon of ice fishing on a remote back lake in Northern Ontario.
