    I'll bet there was a molten puddle of melted metal at that substation because I've seen it before where something like that happens and it's nothing but a damned molten mess of just utter chaos and that's the reason why you saw the explosion is because it melted all that steel and then broke contact like how a fuse works it just starts melting and it when it goes to a certain point then it breaks contact and then boom it's gone and with everything lately with having Parts shortages power outages from shit like this end up becoming months worth of work

    Loox brand new. I don't see those generation GMC & Chevy fullsize crew cab pickups on the roads anymore like I use to back in the 1990s & down, same with the Suburbans, Blazers, Jimmys, & the medium duty trucks which are those semi lookin trucks with that same cab design as that GMC there, but the regular cab pickups on the other hand I still see on the roads.

    How much did you cut out of the frame to shorten it,and Where did you cut it???...Behind the cab?...

    • @TheFenderbolt
      @TheFenderbolt 6 років тому

      BIG D, Keep the 2 front bed bolt holes. Mark behind them. Short bed front 2 bolts are same location as long bed. Remove 14” in front and 6” off tail of frame.

    • @TheFenderbolt

      BIG D, I did a straight cut on this one. 45 degree beveled grind, butt weld. Plate on back side. Everyone has a different method and will argue which is the best. This one has worked well for me. 👍

      omoffroad Rough Country. Part # 8002. 4 inch front springs.

    • @omoffroad
      @omoffroad 7 років тому

      Fender Bolt, Thanks again for the fast response. I have the 56" rear springs and am thinking about doing 3/4 ton rears for a better ride. I noticed your truck is still running saddle tanks after your short bed conversion... are those the original tanks? Yours is the first I've seen still running them. I'll try and make this my last question. I'd love to see your truck in person, really clean work.

    • @TheFenderbolt
      @TheFenderbolt 7 років тому

      omoffroad Ask all the questions you want. The tanks are the 15 gallon short tanks, same tanks used on the factory short beds. Some long beds had the short tanks as well.

      Jerry Luttrull That is the chrome sm465 shifter that I welded to the Getrag 360 shifter. I cut the Getrag shifter below the shifter boot and welded the two together.
