You're so right that sometimes giving up is okay, or even necessary to maintain a good mental health. But I can't help being bothered by the fact that some of us have no other choice but to go such lengths so make sure that we, not only kill our dream, but also put in a metal box, lock it, burn the key and bury it deep, while others have all of the resources, time and privileges to actually achieve theirs. Are some of us just doomed to never live a fulfilling life simply because, well, either we're not good enough or not in a supportive environment? Are some of us doomed to do meaningless jobs, while some others can buy multiple houses by doing what they love? I guess the answer is yes. I mean, there's a reason why public figures exist and we look up to them, because they're the "impossible". At 24, I became apathetic and just do whatever, knowing the second I graduated and took that "regular" job 3 years ago, it was so over for me. I realized that the cards were stacked to be against me and I don't think any amount of effort to get back up will be worth it. This generation is probably the most pessimistic and hopeless one yet I'm happy with it, because at least we're not alone. But tbh, it's not too bad, because at least hobbies exist. If one fails at reaching their goal, they can still do it as a hobby and I agree with you that it's okay to keep it as one. In fact, we all need it. My principle has always been "it's better to suffer for 23 hours and 55 minutes, than 24 hours". Life's not perfect but at least there's that 5 minutes of joy that we all can appreciate.

I suppose We gotta to negotiate with the reality so We can do en enjoy a life that you actually want to live.... It sucks when you believe you are so so close to your dreams, but I can help thinking about how aggressive and dangerous was for that dream you (and me hahaha same situation here) For now I just want to keep creating, doesn't matter if I get an income, for now I'm just glad that I had the opportunity to grow my passion.

one of the symptoms of depression is believing you're a burden on people. i obviously don't know your situation but you were probably fine when you thought you werent fun to be around. im glad you got better though <3. i think the motivation and inspiration you give to people through your videos are like compensation for the motivation you didn't have back then.

3:58 Peter Lord! My late father’s friend and sometimes boss 😁 (My dad was an animator at Aardman in his final years). Times have changed and I get what he’s saying, but he and my father absolutely started by making stuff at home with store-bought equipment, so in many ways it isn’t too far off what you’re doing now. Just a different era 😁

Catching back up with these now (Been saving them for inspiration for my own creative drought but didn’t realise it’d been so long!). I quite like the way you paint the colours of the characters like the old cel shaded animators used to do it 😁 Flash used to have a way to close gaps but no idea if that transferred to Adobe Animate
