    Hi. How do they stay alive with no water for 3 to 4 months? Won't they dry out and die? Being in the plastic box with cold winter temps is enough to keep them alive?

    • @ExperimentalGardening
      @ExperimentalGardening 16 днів тому

      I am sorry to say that, this experiment was not successful, they all died but the method was applied to geranium which was successful, all survived, so if you want to overwinter peppers just cut them leaving 6 to 8 inches of stem and bring indoor.

    • @ExperimentalGardening
      @ExperimentalGardening 2 місяці тому

      @ShrinidhiKulkarni thanks, the plant are in dormancy so give them water once in a month as before drying out the give back energy to the bulb, once they are totally dried out don’t water them, start water in March twice a week, overwatering will rot the bulb.

    • @karent710
      @karent710 2 місяці тому

      I just wanted to add, that I used Miracle-Gro potting mix, morning Sun and mostly shade for the rest of the day. I've tried adding water down banana peel water that seemed to help for a day or two but now the leaves are turned brown and brittle. I am very amateur at growing plants.

    • @ExperimentalGardening
      @ExperimentalGardening 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching the video, the plant goes under stress in 3 way, overwatering which make the leaves yellow and swollen and rotting, the under watering and hot weather makes leaves brown and crispy and sometimes potting mix issues. So replant it in new pot with adding some garden soil with potting mix and water only when one inch soil dries, remove the brown leaves ,I hope it will recover within couple of weeks.
